If you study the past 3 years of reaction vids, that's standard procedure to make a naive "oh this is nice/calm voice" comment before the twist. Recently newer reaction channels have had plenty of time to study the average reaction to this song to make a believable vid. It's pretty much the song that kicked off the whole music reaction trend. It's an easy cash grab if you have a convincing enough acting skills. Just avoid repeating "This is my first time listening I swear" and "Omg she sounds like a demon/how does she do that?". Long story short, this is a fake reaction.

HAHAHA! Love it! Her name is Tatiana...her and the boys are from Ukraine. Genre is hard to define so I'll just say it's "progressive metalcore-ish". Her deep scream-type singing most people call a growl as opposed to her clean vocals. The band is super talented and the writing is so good, both lyrically and composition. Her voice is all her...you'll have to check out a live performance and then you'll be a believer. Their song "Perennial (live at Wacken 2019)" is a good one and so are so many other live performances (live from Kyiv or from Sydney, Austrailia are good too). They're a very diverse band, mixing elements of jazz, reggae, hip hop and blues into the heavy metal. No two songs are the same. Keep checking them out...they'll grow on ya! LOL!

To add.... Tatiana taught herself how to do those death metal growls. Otherwise I couldn't have said it any better. Love Jinjer. They're a great "starter" band for those that aren't big metal fans but are open minded. Her ability to switch back n forth between harsh and clean is great. The mix of growls, aka harsh vocals...and clean vocals make it more palatable to a much broader audience. I love death metal (which is 100% growl/harsh vocals) but this band is so dope.

Definitely make Perennial your next exploration of Jinjer. It's different enough to show a hint of Tatiana's skills, and still gentle enough for most non-metal fans to feel it. Some of their stuff I would have filed under "punk" back in the day; they can get pretty raucous. About this song... it's my understanding that Tatiana is a Pisces in the zodiac; if you notice, the symbol is two fish arranged almost like ☯️ yin and yang; representing two parts of a person's personality, especially a Pisces. She exhibits this with her vocals.

Bruh....this reaction was CLASSIC! Brad, dawg....the look of absolute befuddlement on your face when the HEAVY Chorus kicked in was absolute GOLD, bro! Then....I look at Lexi and she had a shock for a split second followed up by this devilish grin 😂. The polar opposite responses to this song was fuckin’ hilarious! Answers to your questions: The music genre is Metal and is broken down into the sub-genre of Progressive Metal because of the complex timing changes. The singer’s name is Tatiana Shmayluk (They’re all Ukrainian) - The harsh vocals are referred generally as “Screams,” different tonalities of the screams determines if there are Guttural driven or Throat rooted. - Screaming is difficult and takes years of practice to sound good. I’ve been screaming for about 10 years,; it’s not a quick process. - Doesn’t hurt -Tatiana is the best female heavy music vocalist in the industry at the moment. Her range and depth skills are extremely difficult for a female to reach & most guys in the genre can’t sound as good as she does. - No auto-vocal effects to make her sound harsher than she naturally is. - SHES A BEAST! - Y’ALL SHOULD LISTEN TO THEIR (Jinjer) songs “ perennial - Live a Wacken festival” & the “TEACHER, TEACHER - Official music video”. Happy to answer any other questions

Great reaction :) Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole ;) You just witnessed a very very talented vocalist and three amazing musicians. Yep, it's her. It's called growl/screams, generally called extreme vocals and the "normal" vocals are called clean vocals. The song is about the Zodiac sign Pisces. Pisces is a dual sign - light and dark. What she is saying in the extreme parts (the chorus) is: "Scale armor belies, virgin innocence. One being brings life, the other runs for death". Tatiana (vocalist) is a Pisces as well as Eugene (bass player). She wrote most of the song, and asked Eugene to help finish it. When you check out Jinjer songs, check out their lyrics as well. They are always deep, meaningful, and poetic. The guys (Eugene- bass, Roman - guitar, and Vlad - drums) compose the music and hand it to Tatiana to write the lyrics and vocal lines. The only other song she has not written is Dreadful Moments (on the Micro EP). Eugene wrote the song and the lyrics. As others have been saying, definitely need to checkout Perennial: Live at Wacken Open Air 2019 - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKnMZJxvrN-EeM0&ab_channel=NapalmRecords. This is an awesome song. Dynamic with soaring vocals and some fast switching. It's about seasonal depression (something Tatiana has shared she struggles with) through the analogy of the changing seasons. Love these lyrics. It's a beautiful poem as well. So many great songs of theirs to check out, but that's a good start.

That was such a great reaction I immediately subscribed lol. This is a legit vocal method; metal singers who actually achieve it don't end up damaging the vocal cords, shockingly. As for the song, the title gives a huge clue - Pisces is the 12th zodiac sign (mine, as it happens, as well as Tatiana's); it's a water sign known for duality: one side complete sweetness & light, the other side a total demon from the Abyss. All humans have duality to some degree; we all have a side we present to the world and a side we only let out in private; but for some it's extreme. This is actually something helpful in cognitive therapy as well; understanding mental illness that has a root in duality is to me part of what this song is about also. ^_^

Wow! Lex is a gem - she "got" that growl really quick. Lovely reaction from both. "Pisces" is a relatively soft and simple Jinjer track. Most of their tracks are epic so it's hard to make suggestions. But I'll try anyway. A good second Jinjer track is "I Speak Astronomy" official video. It's a step up but still not their hardest material. If you want something that focuses on Tatiana (the vocalist), "Judgement (& Punishment) one-take vocal performance" is fabulous, has a variety of musical styles and a couple of different growling techniques. It's fun, and there's a cute kitty cat featured at the start. If you want to go hard, try "Ape", "Home Back", "Sit, Stay, Roll Over" or the ever popular "Who Is Gonna Be The One" official live recording. Good luck! Liked and subscribed.

Great recommendations: Jinjer and Tatiana are NOT one-trick ponies, and these recommended tracks show the progressive metal spectrum of their musical abilities. They are da*m good musicians at the top of their game!

Try the band Spiritbox as well same set up (singing and screaming) but completely different tone. Spiritbox - Holy Roller if you want a super heavy song or Rule of Nines if you are looking for a bit more mellow. The two completely different looks you two are giving off while watching this is priceless.

Yeah Tatiana Shmailyuk is one of the best vocalists I've ever heard. Even for those that may not get into this type of music, you can not deny that type of talent.. I remember the first time I heard this my jaw literally dropped. She is EXTREMELY talented.

Honestly I can't help but love it. It sounds like just the perfect scream somehow, and her "normal" singing voice sounds so amazing. I'm definitely going on a Jinjer binge now. Tatiana is incredible.

The band describes this music as "Extreme Progressive", and Tatiana (the singer) calls her technique simply extreme vocals. Most people in the metal world would call it a growl, some would call it a scream. Either way, Tatiana is something awfully special. My personal opinion is that these guys are the absolute best band out there right now doing this kind of music. This is totally her voice! The Lyrics in the chorus: "Scale Armor blaze, Virgin innocence One being brings life, another runs for death"
@mschumacher31963 жыл бұрын
You remember something funny about "extreme vocals". I also react to Nightwish songs (it's amazing how reactors pick them and after Jinjer and the opposite, but like the COVID wave, it is predictable that some will someday react to both). So I'm not sure which song, maybe Your is an empty hope, but she do some growl when Marco sing. And I comment this reaction, and suggest to react to Jinjer to see extreme vocals... Then someone was upset : "What do I mean by extreme vocals? Floor do also extreme vocals" and put 3 songs to prove his point. I took the time to watch all them, some was older stuff that I didn't know. But as I figure, this kind of signing is not the bread and butter of Floor, who by the way I like. And I answer the guy that I took time to watch all his 3 links, and suggest to only watch my pick : Pit of counciousness (live at Kiev). Mouuhaahaaha. And he watched it and admit it is not Floor style. I could pay to see his face while he watched it.

I heard an interview with Tatiana (can be found on YT) where she describes her influences. She wanted to learn to do those vocals but didn't think she could do it at home so she went to the edge of town and "sang" at cars passing by until she had figured it out.

Yeah when I first heard them they reminded me of Opeth, jazzy, progressive, aggressive at times and beautiful clean and growl vocals. But they are their own creation completely unique, both bands are actually. But jinjer definitely sounds more modern.

scale armor blaze. It's meant to be scale armor ablaze. Like a fish shining in the sunlight. But I don't think she could quite get that out perfectly while growling.

Those lyrics have a mistake....it's not "Scale armour blaze", it's "Scale armour belies"

@@unseenmal I’ve always thought it was/should be belies, but almost every lyric source says blaze, and I’ve seen others say Tatiana had confirmed it as blaze. Though, I’ve never seen that confirmation muse.
@unseenmal3 жыл бұрын
@@bjsmith6187 But if it's blaze then the lyric just doesn't make sense to me. I know you are in agreement with me but how would "Scale armour blaze" a "virgin innocence"? But "Scale armour belies" a "virgin innocence" works because the scale armour hides/protects the innocence. Until Tatiana confirms it directly, I'm singing it as belies. That's how I've heard it from the very first time I listened to the song.
