Grew up on Zeppelin. " Baby you need coolin" "gonna give you every inch of my love" "wanna be your back door man" ..... it was the era of sex, drugs and rock & roll and nobody did it better than Led Zeppelin. Their catalog ranges from blues to heavy metal. They have more folky music like Immigrant Song too. Some of my favorites are Rock & Roll, Black Dog, Dazed and Confused, Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, In My Time of Dying and so many more. Another rabbit hole of pure Rock & Roll. They released Discography in 1969 when I was almost 10 with a 13yo sister & 15 yo brother so I was exposed to them young. Stairway to Heaven was the Homecoming dance theme when I was a freshman in HS. Great memories....thx😎

@@christopherone1 The double entendre was intentional, I'm sure. Trampled Under Foot and Custard Pie are among the filthiest songs ever recorded, but so artfully disguised most never noticed. The sexual tension Zeppelin created is incredible, using only wit and metaphor. If only I could have seen them live, Bonham died when I was 14, I would have seen them had the 80 tour happened..

That was a double neck guitar, a twelve string and a six string. He would have them tuned differently for particular songs. They think they sold about 300,000,000 albums. Zeppelin rarely released singles. They started when FM was getting going, and they would play half an album at a time for some groups. Zeppelin was one of them

This is the number one rock band of the 70's. Both in popularity and sales. And their first two albums came out in 1969. This song is from the second albaum.You mentioned AC/DC and Aerosmith. Both came a bit after Zeppelin and to some extent they were copies of the Zeppelin formula. They have been called the most influential rock group of all time. You really need to check out them live for the full experience. Anything from the 1973 madison Square garden concert is a good choice. And don't be afraid to choose a song you did the studio version for because Zeppelin were famous for adding lots of extra things in their live performances. He said, "you need coolin." Zeppelin is also very sexual so if your not sure what he said, usually going with a sexual term is the right way to go. LOL.

Charismatic high pitched lead singer, Bonn Scott, with a killer guitar player Angus Young, playing remastered blues type songs about sex. Zeppelin may not have invented that formula but they made it extremely popular.

@@dawg897 the real story is that when Page, Jeff Beck, Keith Moon, and John Entwhistle were recording Becks Bolero, Page insisted they should form a super group together. Moon responded by saying the idea would go over like a lead balloon. The reason being that their hot headed bandmate from The Who (Pete Townshend) would be furious. Page noted the name because he thought it sounded cool and used it for his new group several months later.

He said cooling.Jimmie Page was the mastermind behind the group. He set out to create the greatest rock band ever and he did. Jimmie is a virtuoso on the guitar. Also known for using a cello bow during a song and other experimental ideas. The singer is Robert Plant. You have the amazing multi instrumentalist John Paul Jones on bass and keyboard and none other than the late great John "BONZO" Bonham on drums. Nobody has the speed and power as he did. He was many drummers inspiration in their formative years. there is no other group who could compete with them. You need to hear Kashmir live at Knebworth and The Immigrant Song. You can't go wrong with Zeppelin. Those are just 2 of my most favorites.

This was 1972. The mullet didn't come out until the 80s.Led has been around since the middle 60s. They were part of the Yard Birds. Check out the Yard Birds. They were part of some of the best rock bands around. I'm 65 now and believe me you can't find any better rock then the 60s and 70s. Thanks to the Beatles for opening America's eyes to what was about to come.

Saw them in Houston 3 times with John Bonham. The first at Hofheinz Pavilion and when they finished and the concert was over they had not played Whole Lotta Love. We were all going WTF. They came back on for encore and played it. Needless to say the crowd went crazy. All 3 concerts were perfect.

That song is a musical narration of sex. I was introduced to Led Zeppelin when I was about 12-13 years old. My brother-in-law loaned me some of his best hard rock albums when he was still my sister’s boyfriend, and after I was older, I understood why my Dad didn’t want me to listen to it. I love the music and Robert Plant’s voice. I am sure I still blush when I listen to it around anyone else.

I'm glad to see you dive in here. I resisted Led Zeppelin but when I opened the door I discovered an amazing group. LOL no kool-aid here but coolin' sounds similar. Lyric videos sometimes have less copyright bs and clears this stuff up easier, plus you can't get distracted by the videos. You asked what a Led Zeppelin is... zeppelins were a type of early aircraft that needed to stay light to fly and a zeppelin made of lead wouldn't fly so at the time that they were forming there were jokes about them going over like a lead zeppelin and poof... drop a letter, make it cooler, and Led Zeppelin was born. They called themselves "Led Zeppelin", because the drummer for The Who (Keith Moon) when he was told about the lineup of this new band, he said.... "That will go over like a Lead Zeppelin!" (A lead balloon)

1) What does "Led Zeppelin" mean? Supposedly, the story is that when the band first got together and were still just rehearsing, the drummer for the band "The Who"--Keith Moon--heard them playing. He either didn't like them or was joking around, and he told them they were going to go over like a "lead balloon" (crash and burn). A Zeppelin is a type of German balloon from 100 years ago. They spelled the first word as "led" because "lead" can be pronounced two different ways. 2) At 6:10, the lead singer, Robert Plant, says "I wanna be your backdoor man." You might think that that refers to a certain type of sex, but it probably doesn't here. A "backdoor man" is a man who comes into a woman's house through the back door as her husband is leaving for work through the front door.

This concert still holds the world record for the greatest demand for tickets for a musical concert because 20 million people (yes, you read that correctly) tried to buy tickets for the concert. Because demand so far outstripped the available 20,000 tickets, they had to issue the tickets by lottery. So Led Zeppelin ... God-tier band.
