I saw Sammy Hagar live just a few months ago and in the middle of this song they actually DID start singing "Celebration" lol. It was awesome.

EVH went to his 1st concert with Roth before VH got big and was shocked they were the only whites. DLR loved Earth/Wind/Fire and turned ED on to the whole genre. Hagar is from that era besides who hasn't heard/love that song?

@@jdog6620 I saw this concert in Dallas as a teenager at the Texxas Jam and it was amazing. I still get chills when I think of how it felt to be there in that moment. When the lyrics say "Just tune in to what this place has got to offer, cause, we may never here again", it rings true even to this day. Good times.

Him and Michael sound incredible together. Eddy doesn't even need to help on this one, and his backing vocals are phenomenal.

6:35 - I get what you're talking about... the tight-throat "squeal", and accenting the ends of phrases like that. Famous producer "Mutt" Lange and Def Leppard's Joe Elliot referred to those as the "Simon Le Bon bits", named after the lead singer of Duran Duran. 😁

Sammy is amazing whether with Montrose or Van Halen or his solo stuff or his collaborations like HASA, Chickenfoot, Circle. He is one of the best rock band lead singers of all time.

Hey guys ive been searching for years. I could swear this song was in the movie Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure. I know when I watched it as a kid this song was in the movie. But its like it was removed or erased. As I rewatched it so many years later it was gone. Maybe im nuts. Maybe its that Mandell thing. Can anyone shed some light?

The guitar tone on the Live Without a Net live version is 10 times better than the studio recording tone of this song. Always thought this tone was a bit thin sounding. Could have used the tone from Good Enough or 5150 the song..a bit more meaty and crunchy. Live tone is perfect
@woodch5 күн бұрын
I like both versions, TBH. This one does sound a little more "jangly", but it lets all the nuance of Eddie's playing through. I kinda like the extra sparkle this version has.

Just now subscribed, halfway through this reaction, VH both eras is the music of my youth. Loved the genuine interest and knowledge of music to some degree. All VH rocks but i would recommend a group called XYZ thier song when i find love, would be something you would enjoy.

Check the live version from this concert (kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3i5o4aCl7CnmJIsi=EW2KQG5QLM1VHEzT)...there's a long middle interlude and Sammy just out of nowhere comes back in with a loud "I WANT THE BEST!!!" And the band is right there to kick it in...there had to be some kind of planned cue because it was just too perfect...gotta see it.
