My husband gets damn close too. He's been singing his whole life. He also favors Freddie but hubby's over bite is a bit smaller. I dressed him up on Halloween as Freddie. We went to a bar and there was a lady that offered me $500 to sleep with him. I almost let he go..lol women were all over him and I thought it was funny. My poor husband is clueless when women flirt with him.

He was allowed to be more diva because he wasn't some auto tune performer who had his songs written for him. He wrote the music, lyrics and performed the songs. Today the music industry is full of pop stars who are made famous due to their looks more than their talent

Hey I find myself bobbing along to the latest pop track just like the next guy, I hate to admit it but Rihanna is one of my guilty pleasures (I'm embarrassed that at my age I like her songs) but I find it funny when these pop stars refer to themselves as "musicians" no people you're singers, and usually these days they just won some overstated karaoke competition like the voice or America's got talent and are made famous by saturation.

Kids. I am 72 years old and just LOVE listening to Queen. Yeh, that's right, I'm an old **** and can't get enough of the really good shit I grew up with. I really, really feel sorry for you that never had the chance to see these guys and others like the Beatles, Stones, Doors and the rest live and in concert. I did and I will always be grateful for the fun, the magic, and the pure joy of being young and surrounded by such magnificent talent. God bless the 60s, 70s, and 80s for the everlasting joy they brought all of us and for pointing the way to all those that followed.

I have all their albums. Love the Beatles too. Genesis was a great band too. Jimi Hendrix, Bowie. They’re all legends. The best, all unique, musical geniuses 👍🏾

I am part of the new generation. I'm just a teenager but I listened to queen once like 7-9 years ago and I have been obsessed with them since. I don't like any of today's music and not to sound like I'm educated in music, I may listen many songs that are considered bad but I know that today's music has no meaning and no melody. They have no style. Today everyone copies each-other and people like me are considered weird. I don't like my generation and I do what my gut tells me, following what I want to follow and not what others follow. So I'll keep listening to queen till a better singer than Freddie, a better drummer than Roger, a better guitarist than Brian and a better bass player than John come together and form a band which creates immortal songs. That means never

Freddie is known for his octave range which is rare, and of course his showmanship. Once in a life time does someone of his talents come along !!!
@hollybischoff7490
@hollybischoff7490 5 жыл бұрын
His natural voice was actually baritone, he frequently sang in the tenor register, and had no problem going into soprano. He also had a vocal vibrato which made the transitions of his voice for him easy. 5.4 Hertz to 7.04 Hertz almost unheard of. most might get to a 6.9 Hertz.HE was to say the least very RARE. HE had a range of low F2 to a Soprano F6. Like I said once in a life time do we get someone of his Many talents!!!! Very Cool.

Freddie was the full package: 4 octave vocal range, great showman, best frontman ever, he owned live crowds, had a great sense of musicality, outstanding performer, great songwriter and experimental. He was a Diva. He was so extra, he was carried on Darth Vaders shoulders. He's the Queen of Rock.

@@hollybischoff7490 Whats really cool is that Michael Jackson goes from F2 to F6 too but he is a high Tenor tho. I think that Freddie was an High Baritone instead of just a Baritone because his lowest is F2. I'm just 15 and i'm a Baritone and my Lowest is D2 (my highest rn is C6) and I think when I grow up more my voice could get deeper. Well Freddie's Voice is a big mystery to me, because people say he is a Baritone but his Tenor singing doesn't sound like a girls voice/head voice for example. If I want to sing like Freddie (in the same notes as Freddie) I use head voice to get the notes that he does, but as I hear he just reaches them without sounding different. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT

Been a queen fan in secret since I was a kid. That shit will get you ass kicked every day on the streets where I live. Mercury was a straight up g. You have to watch queens live aid performance. It 20 minutes or so. I saw it on TV when I was a kid the entire concert of all the performances. Queen came on to do their bit and after he was done everyone else playing after them might as well go home. He smoked every single act that day. And they all knew it too. When I saw the crowd clapping in unison during radio gaga I was in awe. It was phenomenal. Gives me chills still today when I watch it on KZbin. Been a fan ever since. Fuck hip hop and pop music. This motherfucker had some talent noone can come close to possessing now or ever. So check that shit out. Nice to see a brother appreciate freddie mercurys talent. I have subscribed to your channel.

I grew up everyone knew there songs. You couldn't not know them, they was always in the charts. Live aid was amazing, and I've watched it back many times over the years. My mum and her friends went, it want untill I was older I realised how iconic of a moment that was. Ive seen a documentary since that said freddy made sure they was on in the uk 6pm slot, so they could get in early enough that tv viewers haddnet had enough, and that it was a decent time in the USA, (it was simulcast there live), the same doc talks about the other bands back stage saying f-in hell they have just blew us all out the water. I can't recall who followed them (that's how good they was, I bet no one does, without checking up) but I bet they was like, let's go home, we ain't topping that. The full show is on yt but I only ever watch the 22min queen set. Even though all the big guns of the day was on that day. I can still remember the 'feed the world...' live aid song. With the majority of the acts performing. It was crap tbh. A cheesy exmas song with a terrible video of starving kids. Strange they did an xmas song given the concert was in the summer.

I gre up listing to all this, and Especally frigging wham.

Funny behind the scenes story. The organizers were messing with them a lot, mostly kept cutting their stage time down more and more along with restrictions. And apparently treating them as inconsequential like they were some small act nobody was there to see. So Queen got pissed and decided F it, we'll do what we want. So they went back to their full set list they were supposed to do originally and their manager bribed the sound guys not to cut them off and to turn them up louder then they had all the other bands. Making one of the greatest moments in music history.

Legendary performance! Thanks to Freddies (and the rest of the bands) perfectionism, they were reportedly one of the veeery few to have practiced and actually have a set. Most other groups took live aid as a Woodstock kinda ' I'll improvise something' thing, brought a decent show and enjoyed backstage. But not Queen. They wanted their stagetime to be perfect, song choices, vocals, crowd handling, they knew this would be a huge live gig, broadcasted all around the globe, they wanted to set a mark. And bloody hell, what a mark they set that day. There are even rumours (heard it in a documentary about Queen) that some artists were nearly refusing to go on stage after Queen, because they knew their unrehearsed ' let's just play our 5 best songs' wouldn't cut it in comparison.

I not long ago downloaded Queens platinum edition album, iirc there is 56 in it. I've been playing it through while in the car over the last few weeks and I've skipped 2. That's a sign of a great album. Only one of the top of my head I don't like is Barcelona (not even it's name), and it wasn't a queen song, it was when they split in about 91. Just before the Olympics, (it was the Olympic 92 song. It originally bombed, but then 6 months later of so when the Olympics was on went up the charts to about number 3 iirc. Apparently if you like opera, he was very good. Not my cup of tea though.

I was so lucky to have actually been able to go to 2 Queen concerts back in the day. The performances that Freddie, Brian, Roger and John all gave were amazing. Queen's sounds were like no other. They flawlessly moved from rock (sheer heart attack, We will rock you) to ballads (Love of my life, In the year of 39) to pop (You're My Best Friend, Somebody to Love) to opera (Bohemian Rhapsody). That was one amazing group.

I can pretty much bet my life savings that you will love Another one bites the Dust. Back when I was a youngster, I got a promotional single of that as a gift for X-mas and I used to play the sh!t out of it on my Fischer Price record player. That thing was indestructible. lol

Lovely seeing someone coming across this stuff for the first time. For more accomplished vocal performances, you want the earlier performances. But of course, some of their music came later so there are only more recent recordings. Freddie had throat problems so that he sometimes had to modulate down, especially in later performances, as otherwise he could not have lasted out a full concert. He also commanded the stage, and as stages became larger with arena venues, he could run out of puff so not be able to hold notes as long or as high as in studio recordings. But the energy is phenomenal. Somebody to Love is also fabulous in concert - don't know if you've done that one yet.

I watched a couple of your videos and at first I thought there's no way this guy hasn't heard of the songs before but then I realized that I have young cousins that don't know any older music. So I'm very happy that you are opening your mind to new worlds of music because there is so much Amazing Music out there. My dad, who is in his 70s & pretty much only listens to outlaw country music, had never listened to Queen and one weekend he got on KZbin and somehow he started watching it and he calls me so excited, there's like a whole new dimension had been open to him. Needless to say, he's very excited to go see 'Bohemian Rhapsody' the movie that's being made about Queen that's coming out in a few months. So I hope, Joey, that you will do the same and go see the movie about the band and how they started because it's going to be phenomenal. I feel like I want to make a list of songs to introduce you to because there's so many amazing songs out there that are much much older than you are.

Joey, it is such a delight to see your reaction to Queen. I'm 71 and heard Queen in my youth. I was caught up in the Beetles rage. I heard some Queen but didn't pay much attention. For the past 3 days, I have been binge listening to Queen and watching the videos. Queen is truely the best. Freddy was a genius with the crowds. All 4 have great voices and are fine musicans. Truely spectacular. Joey, you were my inspiration. Thank you.

Thank you for this... ☺️ I love watching your videos & your beautiful reactions as you watch & listen to Queen. It brings me such joy to see your honest appreciation for their music. You acknowledge the difficulties & the ingenuity of their commanding performances & appreciate Queen’s seemingly consistent seamless composition... Your excitement breathes magic... making it all new for me/us once again as well!! ✨💜!Cheers! 💜✨

IMO one of the most amazing things about Queen was that guitarist Brian May MADE that guitar he is playing. His dad was an electrical engineer and he couldn't afford an expensive guitar so he took a hundred year old fireplace mantle and made the neck, cut a table and made the body, and used motorcycle parts to make the tremelo arm. That's why his guitar sounds like no other. The drummer had dental training, the bassman studied electrical engineering and Brian May studied astrophysics, he now has his PhD. Queen was a band of VERY smart people.

I suggest you listen to the original studio version of both songs. Also, there is a 'fast' rocker version of We will rock you (live in studio) that will blow your mind. I prefer Queen in the studio because of the slick production, the layered harmonies and guitars... they're great live but it's a very different thing. Like others did I also recommend the songs Bicycle Race, Killer Queen, Innuendo, The show must go on... I'll also add Play the Game, but there are so many!

I love that you are picking up the live versions... but also go back and listen to the studio cuts....there is where you hear GENIUS... to his live show man... Also just noticed that Freddie hyperextended his knees and held it... a lot... my knees are killing me now watching this.... my knees do the same...
