I know everyone recommends the Aha, Singaport Star Vista performance, but I actually prefer the Dallas, Tx. The audio picks up some of the audience (not much, you can still clearly hear the vocals). However, the theatrics are 10x better, and there's no bass drop off on Avi's really low notes. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/boq3haSug5yBo5Y
@jennyfield2664 жыл бұрын
@@mmg8823 Yes, I agree. The audio and video are much better quality, but Mitch doesn't seem as sassy as in the Star Vista video. Maybe it's the lack of him playing with his hair that adds to it, lol. I can't tell, but if you've never watched the cartoon special "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Matt's voice matches the Narrator perfectly, who sings the songs in the show, including that one.
@JoSedunary4 жыл бұрын
Kirstie said in one of their interviews that this arrangement was really difficult... switches from high register to low very quickly and then back up so many times... Also in the older vids, Scott took the lead a lot because the others didn't feel comfortable taking the lead role - since tracks like Shallow/Rather Be etc... they've pretty much shared the load. I think they choose whoever sounds perfect for the track or in some original instances, whoever wrote it.
@Sweeney5414 жыл бұрын
There are plenty of songs were Mitch and Kirstin has the lead and a few with Avi as well. (and of couse many where they all share the lead) The reason that Scott has the lead often is because he has the most versatile voice, not to mention a huge vocal range (he's doing the bass in this song!). A lot of modern music also just lends itself more towards the baritone range, which is Scott.
@lowkeybuckley4 жыл бұрын
yes exactly.
@queenofgreen834 жыл бұрын
Agreed! I think the people who are pushing for Scott to lead less just don’t realize this. I also think those same people will mistakenly say Scott is hogging the lead even on the group songs like Hallelujah and Sounds of Silence, where he simply just had the first verse, and isn’t actually the “lead” for the song. If they stopped to think about it, Scott taking the first verse for both of those songs made it possible for someone else (Kirstie, in both of those occasions) to later have the most emotionally charged and climactic verse of the song.

"O Come, All Ye Faithful" has a different Pentatonix twist also. I've seen commenters and reactors who've said that "Little Drummer Boy" and "12 Days of Christmas" were not songs they would have listened to or chosen but the Pentatonix spin just makes it a playlist song in Christmas or any other genre; I agree. Hello from Texas! 1. I really like your style in general, and the variety of music that you react to on your channel. 2. I really like your upbeat and enthusiastic appreciation for music, because I think it’s how we all feel as well, when we see so many amazing performances. 3. Having said that, I wonder if you might be able to fine-tune your reactions, so that you are not pausing so much. Not sure if you realize just how often you are pausing, because you are caught up in the song, but in this particular 3:13 song, you paused 8 times, which is an average of every 24 seconds. You can see how that can interrupts the flow of the performance, thereby affecting the enjoyment of your viewers/subscribers. Perhaps you could just react with facial expressions and maybe a whispered comment here and there, and then edit in subtitles of your thoughts during certain parts of the video, like I have seen other reactors do. You could then also, save the majority of your comments after the performance has completed. I felt that all of your comments and observations were absolutely spot-on ... it’s just how they were presented, that was so distracting from the performance. Just sending what I hope is some constructive feedback, because as I said, I like everything else about you and your channel and your observations. Wishing you a Holly Jolly everything! 🟢🔴🟢🔴🟢🔴🟢🔴🟢🔴🟢🔴 ☮️ Steve in Dallas P. S. What does your tattoo in script on your forehead say? Can’t quite make it out. My mother’s side of the family is all English, Irish and Scottish. “Walker” being English… “Calhoon” being Irish… and “McQue” being Scottish. All of the pasty-white people like me lol. Please know that I wasn’t trying to dog on you or tell you how to do your channel, because after all, it is your channel. I know it takes a lot of time to do what you do, so even if you wanted to, you probably wouldn’t have time to spend looking at other reactors’ videos, so I just wanted to send you a few examples of what I was talking about, all reacting to Pentatonix, since I assume that the copyright requirements would be the same for all Pentatonix songs, set by their publishing company or the group. I am including 2 American reactors and 2 European reactors, in case for some reason the rules are different in the US vs. versus Europe (or is it specifically by country? 1. Here is an American reactor, who uses the complete pause method. However during this 5:06 song, the only pauses 4 times for an average of every 1:275 minutes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4KTZZl5od-horc 2. Another example from an American reactor, also to the same Pentatonix song. You can see how he makes remarks over the video without stopping it, so that it doesn’t interrupt crescendos, etc. And when he does pause it, he runs it back a little so you get a running start at that particular passage of music, which helps smooth over the pausing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYLHg5J_Z79jgNE 3. Here is a link to a reactor in France, and she doesn’t pause at all on the same song and it hasn’t been blocked. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqnWhIJpp8ScgbM 4. Here’s a link to a reactor and by his accent I can’t quite tell if he’s from the UK or maybe Australia … I’m sure you would be able to tell. His reaction to Hallelujah by Pentatonix, only 1 pause: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKDNiKiNadBjqqs Again, not being critical, just trying to help you and your channel if any of my suggestions might. It’s hard for me personally to take suggestions as I get very defensive and consider them criticism of how I am doing my job, which I think is common in all humans, probably especially men. Anyway, take it for what it’s worth and I subscribed and will keep watching. ☮️ Steve in Dallas
