Little known fact that Venetta was one of the original "Ikettes", the backup singers for Ike and Tina Turner. She has also performed with Pink Floyd, Humble Pie, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, Bob Seger, the Rolling Stones, Bette Midler, Joe Cocker and Bob Dylan. She toured Australia with Boz in 1980 and relocated here in 1982. As well as Farnsey she has also performed with Barnsey of Cold Chisel.

Absolutely the best version of this song I've ever heard. The harmonies between the three of them are simply perfect. The love between all three of these guy is written all over their faces. Venetta looks like a proud Mumma. And just look how far away from the mike Mr Farnham sings.

Vanettas voice is amazing! Then she invites John to sing with her, just look at the look of love and their appreciation of both voices they have for each other, then Lindsay comes in to complete this song!! So awesome. Look at the distance they all are from the microphone and their voices just boom out to the audience! John has been Australia’s favourite son since the late 60’s. Love you Farnsey get well soon.

Venetta Fields is an American who came to Australia in the 70s I believe. She is an amazing singer in her own right. Lindsay Field is one of John's oldest friends and has been his support singer for decades. A very powerful trio and a wonderful performance.

Loved this Venettas voice is beautiful. She deserves more limelight than she gets, but being part of Johns family she is well loved here in Australia and that voice of hers is up there with the best. If you another Aussie Artist try Delta Goodrem ft. Gizzle singing Enough.

Vanetta has had a great career starting in the US in the 60s. The list of artists she has sung with is a "who's who" of artists.

Yep, such an amazing career. Yet she only felt 'truly' valued and respected (she faced a lot of bullying etc with many of the other artists she supported) once she joined John's band after emigrating to Australia. She even said going in to retirement that if John needed someone to sing with him, he would only need to call and she would come out of retirement just for him. Such was the love and respect between those two, which is obvious in this performance. John had a knack for standing back and letting his band members have their moment to shine. You could tell they were like a family.

Australian so I have seen John Farnham live a couple of times and obviously Venetta was. Providing background vocals. But besides that I was lucky enough to see her on her own, live in a small show at the local Casino. I always thought she was a good singer, but that small solo show proved how good she was.

The amazing Venetta is now in her 80s, and has been an Aussie since the early 1980s when she came here from the US. She had sung backing vocals for the likes of Bob Seger, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, Streisand and Pink Floyd and since coming to Australia has backed Farnham and Jimmy Barnes, among others. Tina Turner She is magnificent.
