Takai Watiti does the voice of the bounty hunter droid who gets shot at the end of the episode. Carl Weathers and Werner Herzog played the other major characters in this episode.
@oxhine4 жыл бұрын
This series is modeled after a genre known as Spaghetti Westerns which were Italian oaters mostly shot in Spain with international casts in the '60's-'70's. These films were highly stylized, melodramatic and hyperviolent examples of an American genre refracted through European eyes. The three greatest practitioners were the three Sergios: Sergio Leone, Sergio Corbucci and Sergio Sollima. Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name trilogy ending with "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" was directed by Leone and is a classic of the genre. A KZbinr cut a trailer of The Mandalorian in the style of a Leone film calling it "IL MANDALORIANO"! It's absolutely hysterical. Check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3urkIWYo9d6i9U You've seen Mandalorian armor before worn by bounty hunter Jango Fett who served as the template for the clone army in the prequels and his unaccelerated clone "son", Boba Fett, who captured Han Solo in the Classic trilogy. You learn much more about Mandalorians in the animated Clone Wars TV series as well as watch young Boba grow up. The BESKAR metal he's paid in advance and provides to the armorer is prized by Mandalorians because it's impervious to LIGHTSABER strikes. Originally, Mandalorians were a non-human species. Over time, the martial philosophy of the original species was adopted by other species transforming a racial heritage into a cultural heritage. Mandalorians are predominantly human nowadays and are basically SPACE SPARTANS. They have fought with and against both the Jedi and Sith throughout history. During the Clone Wars, under Duchess Satine, they went through a pacifist phase. When Empires collapse, provincial governors and generals assume control of extant fragments. It happened to Alexander's Empire, to the Mongol Empire, to the Western Roman Empire, to Imperial India and to Dynastic China during Interregnums. Those regions of the galaxy not under the control of the New Republic are controlled by IMPERIAL REMNANTS. The client, played by Werner Herzog, seems to be a civilian Imperial of high rank. The inestimable Werner Herzog is an internationally acclaimed German documentarian and filmmaker! He shot the classic "Fitzcarraldo" in the Amazon jungle and actually hauled a ferryboat over a huge muddy ridge to get from one tributary of the Amazon to another enlisting the aid of hundreds of Amazonian Indians. He collaborated frequently with an insane hothead actor called Klaus Kinski who would stall production with fits of apoplexy! His documentaries are deeply humane and profound explorations of the bizarre and unusual ranging from life at Antarctic research stations to cave paintings to vulcanology to the career of ex-Russian Premier Gorbachev. He is a beloved figure in the cinematic world and is thought of as a very serious guy with a truly distinctive way of speaking. When he does the occasional acting role, it's always a treat to see this cerebral icon just cut loose! He fell in love with Baby Yoda and kept exhorting the cast and crew to "commit to the magic" of the puppetry! Lol. Yoda died at the age of 900 in "Return of the Jedi". This show is set five years later. The child is a juvenile of Yoda's species which has never been named. Simply for the sake of convenience, he has been dubbed "Baby Yoda". I love the Kowakian monkey-lizard being roasted on a spit while a caged one watches! It's so mean. Nick Nolte brilliantly voiced gruff Kuill the Ugnaught and "Thor: Ragnarok" director Taika Waititi voiced IG the assassin robot. The music is by composer Ludwig Goransson who also provided the scores for "Creed", "Black Panther", "Venom" and "Tenet".

So glad you're starting this series, Mary. I really do hope you're able to post your reactions to it without the troubles that the sequels brought you. For another take on what happened post Return of the Jedi I highly recommend looking up the old Expanded Universe novels. Think of it as an alternate timeline to that of the Disney sequels. Disney has since rebranded them Star Wars Legends but they are widely available second hand under both brands. They continue and expand upon all our favorite OT characters as well as the remnants of the empire and the nascent New Republic. Best of all although the characters do evolve and develop they never fully stray from being the people we were initially introduced to in the original films. Look up a chronological reading list for the best experience. If reading is not your thing they can be found in audiobook format. I'd love to hear your reviews on the books if at all possible. Finally, don't forget to watch The Clone Wars (in chronological order) and Rebels prior to season two of the Mandalorian. There's still time. See you next vid! 😀👍

All season 1 really establishes about the post-Empire galaxy is that the Empire no longer exists except as remnants. You actually might enjoy some of the old Expanded Universe titles which were no longer canon when Disney took over and rebranded as Legends. The novels, comics and games really expanded on the lore and history of the galaxy in a far more satisfying way than the Disney sequels. I consider them them the true continuation of the story and the sequels to be expensive fan fiction.

Okay, soooo I really don't want to spoil anything. So being as non-spoilery as possible, to sort of get an idea of how major a certain moment in this show is, you miiiight wanna watch SW: Clone Wars and Rebels. Not necessarily do a reaction series if you don't want, because that's a lot of recording. And Clone Wars, by itself, is mostly 22-25min. per episode, 20-22eps per season, of which there are 7. Seasons 6 and 7 are 16 episodes and 12 episodes respectively(I think). So maybe just personal viewing? I mean if you wanna see that moment in the Mandalorian without knowing some of the events transpired in the shows I mentioned that relates to it, it's pretty darn cool regardless. I'm sorry if this hardly makes sense. Again, really trying not to spoil anything. Lol

I’m watching this from a playlist and how come in the playlist you put season 2 episode 9 at the beginning?! I almost got spoiled but I realized it was season 2

Before Disney did away with the EU (expanded universe) it was established that any being born had the potential of having the force regardless if the parents were force sensitive to being full blown Jedi/Sith. Even non force sensitive parents had the potential to have force sensitive kids. With that being said. Even after the "Purge" as it was called, a lot of Jedi actually survived and went into hiding. Most just went into simple life styles and refused to resurface. Does that make sense?

The baby was already 45 when yoda dies This series starts 5 years after return of the jedi The empire is fractured as various moffs and warlords try to gain control This series isn't so much about the bigger universal conflicts as much as it's about the Mandalorian But it's so star warsy
