We keep plodding along.
There was a lot of anxiety today about a whole number of things, and I hope I explained how complex anorexia and the relationship with food it creates can be. It’s not as simple as eating or not eating. There are emotions and memories attached, values and core beliefs.
We started off strong and the end of the day was hard. But… we keep moving forward.

Keep going until the screaming toddler gets tired and bored of you not paying it attention. Eventually it will give up and get bored!!!!! Be the parent of the screaming toddler And your inner child. Ignore the toddler and nurture the inner child, Fi as a child who loved spaghetti bolognese💕

Having the courage to face your fears is incredible!! And you did it… it won’t be as hard next time… keep reminding yourself you’ve done it now!!! It won’t be easy, but you know you can do it… and you will! And it’s really hard because when you starve yourself you don’t have to deal with the emotions because you go numb to them… now that you are nourishing yourself they come flooding back… abs it’s really uncomfortable at times… keep in mind you have a ton of love and support…

I understand the frustration. Getting past the guilt and frustration is the true challenge. the constant need to be/feel perfect is the true illness. Giving your disease the place of "screaming toddler" is such a great way to look at it. I suggest if possible and if your care team agrees find "punishments" for the toddler not yourself. If you can find a way to emotionally separate Fi from there "toddler" you may find you stop punishing Fi and start finding ways to make Fi happy and make the toddler behave. Verses the toddler being a prat and getting its way. You are the adult. You are strong. You are worthy!!!

I know you are so frustrated with yourself and annoyed with your illness, but when it gets really bad, watch your very first video. It’s only been 4 months, which may feel like forever, but is a drop in the bucket when it comes to recovery. I just had a horrible relapse of my panic disorder and I spent the first week just being so angry with myself it hampered me crawling my way back again. It’s been a month and I’m just barely back to being able to be by myself again. I hate it, but I know it won’t be forever. I recovered once, I can do it again, and so can you :) Love and hugs Fi!

You’re going to win this war, Fi. I can see the determination in your face as you race to the next hurdle. Some days will be more challenging than others, but that’s because you’re beating back the monster that is anorexia. I’m so, so proud of you! xxxxxxxxxxxx

My therapist always says "thoughts are not facts". Sounds easy but not always as straight forward in the moment. Try to hold on to it though. Keep going beautiful xx

Getting frustrated at the illness and at that "screaming toddler" is a sign you're close to your breakthrough moment. It took me awhile to get to that point when I was younger and beating my ED battle. You are a warrior and have a whole army of people behind you and we are so proud of you. Much love from 🇨🇦

You’re doing amazing. I’ve seen so much progress from you in the last few weeks, you’re able to discuss your more negative emotions with us and we’re seeing that vulnerability. You’re also quicker to smile in happier times which is so lovely. Keep being you and doing what you can💗

Lovely to hear your voice and see your smile. The fact you know its lying to you shows you have this illness on the run Fi! Keep chasing it out of the corners of your mind and one day it will be small enough to allow you to live the life you want for yourself. You are doing so well x

A few weeks ago you had to leave the room when your parents ate spag bol. Yesterday you ate it. That’s called progress. It’s hard to see it when it’s right in front of you. But you ARE heading in the right direction. You got this Fi. Xx

Hey fi I notice in all your videos you eat a lot of low fat diet yoghurts. Something that helped me in recovery was to eat normal yoghurts. This meant that I didnt have to have as big of portions elsewhere. It would also mitigate all the yoghurt you leave around the tub. Just a thought that maybe it could help you recover fasted to the life you deserve!

How it works the process of getting Back tô eat? Is it like something progressive, like the Dr negociates with u a number of meals a day? And then with the appoinments he increases it? Or is more like “what food can you accept on the first days “ or something. ?

My dietitian told me the toddler analogy but her toddler (or I guess my toddler) has a stick and is beating me with it. She told me to take the stick from the toddler and beat the toddler with it. I told her that just sounded like child abuse. But if you picture it as a non-human devil toddler I guess that makes it okay…maybe?

Do you talk back to it (mentally). I struggle mental health wise and I sometimes have to tell my mind no, that's not true this is true.

You are not alone. That’s exactly what I have done for years! I actually shout at myself (not out loud) in my head, and yell at it to stop! No more! It works.
