Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

Catfish aren’t poisonous per say, but their slime is an anti-coagulant, so when they stick you, you won’t stop bleeding. Fishing in the winter months for snook and reds turn up a lot of catfish on shrimp. Avoid touching them and you’ll be fine
@alexporcelli1443 жыл бұрын
Hardhead and gafftop catfish aren't poisonous but there is toxin on their barbed fins, hence the intense pain relative to the wound when you get stuck. I had one go through my foot and let me tell you, it was not pleasant!

Try using a float with the live mullet, it will move around, you can see what's happening, and give the fish some time to eat the bait. Ideal for fishing the docks.

Do you have a brand and size cast net you recommend for throwing off of a kayak? I have been wanting to get one for a long time, this video is definitely making me want to run to the store right now!
@peterkovach86553 жыл бұрын
Kovach! Too funny... maybe we are related. So I recently got into kayak fishing in Florida before I moved to Europe. The short answer - it is really, really hard to throw a cast net from a kayak. It is hard enough from shore. But I found my best luck was from a small sized 5 foot net. You really need to be able to stand up to make a proper throw, so unless you have a wide kayak and are on really calm waters, it's really tough. I invested in a cast net, live well, chum, etc and quite frankly I just couldn't make it work from my Hobie Outback. I found myself going to the shop and buying live shrimp more often than not. That said, best of luck.
