I know where that is. That's one of my favorite fishing spots as I'm a Baltimore native. There are a ton of big gizzard shad in there and if you move down the river there are a decent variety of just about everything. Geographicly speaking that's just outside the reservoir, as in you're on the other side of the second dam. So where you are is the Big Gunpowder Falls. I've caught trout, catfish, shad, bass, eel, crappy and bluegills right there. I still fish there quite often. Let me know next time you're around maybe take the canoe out into some deeper water around Baltimore.

Nice video. Cut girl. I agree, the best way to keep them interested is to start with panfish or perch, or a fist that will provide continued action.. Another option for rod is the spincast rod/reel such as the Zebco 33's or something similar. I have two young nephews that enjoy fishing. After learning on spincast, they cam go to the spinning type outfits.

Use a spreder for perch when your on a boat it has two hooks on it and it has spiners on both sides above the two hooks and don't use it when your fishing from shore and it has a sinker on the top of it and snap a snap on the sinker and u can use a worm or a mino Minos work better try it

One tip on casting a spinning rod: Do not pinch the line against the rod when you flip the bail open, bend your finger and hold line loosely in the bend, then just straighten your finger at the release point.

He was still trying to cut braided line with nail clippers!!! lol If you want to see the proper way to do it, go look at flukemaster's video as he holds the rod properly with his right hand, flips the bail with his left, and doesn't pinch the line against the rod. Not at all what's shown here. Best tip here is side arm cast, the rest of it is the wrong way to do it. And another tip: if you're teaching a little kid, don't fish yourself.
