I ordered this to net the algae in a large pond in our backyard. kzbin.infoUgkxphFK7ETiDP5G4IGsNcg7vbASDp_YfDpI The net is very sturdy and easy to maneuver in the water. The angled edges make it easier to get into the smaller spaces among the rocks. I didn't realize that the front of the net doesn't actually have a frame to it, just the sides do, but it seems to work just fine. The handle extends to various sizes, which is a great feature when I'm in areas that are tight with shrubs at the edges of the pond. I can collapse the handle so it doesn't get stuck in the bushes.

@@FTWQexcuse me sir, what knot IS stronger? This or the Alberto?
@1Mannco6 ай бұрын
@@PabloSuaDel Alberto is stronger..or some call it a Modified Albright, same...I do the loop like this then 8 wraps 'away', then 8 wraps back right over the other 8 wraps ofc going in between each wrap so it cinches better. Then at the big loop I do 5 wraps 'inside the loop' like in this video, moisten/tighten. Maybe it's an Improved Alberto knot.

I like that version. A standard Albright knot fails if the short tag end gets through the main loop. This cures that weakness. I have been using a piece of fine tubing in the initial knot to enable me to put the tag end under the knot before final tightening, that's good too, but yeah I like this.
@oilrigfishing Жыл бұрын
You're referring to the bead and weight sliding up and down it? I usually use a small bead so that doesn't happen I've seen some people put the bead and weight on the main line so it's not hitting both knots

Good knot,,but not sure if it is a better one than a simple Uni Knot.
@frankaquino86774 жыл бұрын
Does the knot go through the guides well? I use double uni for braid to fluoro but any rod with micro guides it always hits quit a bit near the end guides and significantly reduces cast distance.
@FTWQ4 жыл бұрын
I feel like it was only just a bit better than the double uni knot. Honestly, I have been liking the Alberto knot more and more for this problem. The Improved Albright was definitely not too bad... But maybe give the Alberto a shot as well.

If by "improved" you meant longer to tie and more complex to follow then job well done 😂 I honestly found your original knot guide far easier and quicker thanks 👍🎣
@devinrodriguez97902 жыл бұрын
I tie mine differently. I loop both the braid and mono, then using the braid tag end, I wrap up 10 times, pinch it, wrap down 10 times, and secure it by putting the braided tag end through the braided lines loop, otherwise you'll cut the leader if you go through the plastic.
@SantoCurro-ho4ne10 ай бұрын
My opinion is your the only person tying this correctly, your exiting the same way you came in after the final wraps. If you look at every illustration on of this knot it shows the tag end exiting the wrong way. Let me know if you agree.

I actually think it’s better to enter and exit the opposite direction. Going in the same direction seems to be repeated so much by people that it became normal. It’s hard to notice the difference with thin fishing line. So do a test by trying both ways with paracord. In my testing with paracord, threading in the opposite direction gets a much tighter cinch and is harder to untie. I can’t say if this applies directly to braid/mono, but it’s much better and tighter with paracord. The original improved Albright has the entry and exit going in opposite directions. I assume this is because someone discovered that it cinches better. But it’s hard to find info online because modern knots like the FG has kind of overshadowed the Albright. I think the whole “enter/exit in the same direction” became popular because it looks much more symmetrical, but I think opposite is better.
