Fishing The Bung or Indicator in Winter

Is it even fly fishing many would argue not! For me it is just another weapon in the arsenal that can be deployed when the need arises. On its day it can be lethal, unfortunately the day I wanted to make a video about it the fish were clearly not in the mood!
Still I am not one to let a small detail like that get in my way, the wind and the rain were also a bit of a hindrance. I hope I have given enough information for you to give the method a go. Before you start throwing stones please remember for many older and disabled anglers it is often the only way they can still go fly fishing. You know the old saying don't judge until you have walked a mile in someone else's shoes.
I use it when the need arises and sleep like a baby at night.....lol. Let me know in the comments section below fly fishing or float fishing?

Very informative video Lindsay, thank you for taking the time to make it. 👏 A suggestion, a video on ‘loch style’ in windy rough conditions - 30kmh + winds, 2’+ waves etc.. Conditions where it all but impossible to stay in contact with your flies. Have a great festive season!

I’m occasionally use the bung every so often …. Other anglers can really get a chin on when they know you are using a bung especially when you catch fish

Be it the use of a Bung/indicator or floating fly be it booby fab or a deer hair sedge. It is as much about consistent repeatable presentation of flies at required depths. As it is about getting better indications of the fish taking the fly. Most anglers do not realise that they are unaware of up to nine out of ten fish that take and spit out the fly without the angler even noticing. How many times have we lost fish from simply not regularly checking the fly for damage or a masked hook point or ignoring a wind knot on our leader. A hook point turned over and dulled by a stone turns a fishing session into a fur n feather swimming session

Hi Lindsay I think you rock,, awesome vid,,reality always wins. As a thought perhaps don’t title your videos and just fish,, this video would have been pulling lures with intermediate line,,, count down, colours , type of lures etc..!!
