I just bought gripper weights for fishing for carp along a spillway and for using pack bait
@davidbigreels98092 жыл бұрын
This was great. The right size/style weight can make the difference between hang ups and lost lines, and catching monster fish 👏
@thedutchgamerguy85802 жыл бұрын
when im not casting towards fish i tend to use the heaviest possible lead for the cast, just to increase hooking capabilities. I only use small leads when im casting at fish or looking to get a bite really quickly. Just to not make a big splash.

The Carp scene is completely bankrupt discharging lead into lakes should be a criminal offence. Insanity. I’ve never intentionally discharged a lead, I lose 1-2 fish a season max in extreme weed. Just need some skill & think about your angling

Carl. Do you know those bomb leads we use today were invented by the late and great Dick Walker. He invented them to fish long range at Arseley pits in Bedfordshire. As kids in the 70s that would be the lead of preference for basically everyone. They were known as the Arseley bomb.

What happens when you fish the lead to come off on the take? Are lakes full of old leads? How does that work and why should you fish the lead to come off?
@Itwasntalieitwastrueinmymind Жыл бұрын
Makes the companies more money. BOSH!! GET IN!! GOTCHA!!
@pathayworth6738 Жыл бұрын
You may want the lead to come off if you’re fishing in or around heavy weed or snags. You’ll find the fish comes up in the water without a lead. However as you’ve said this practice is counter intuitive if you’re worried about littering or potential pollution. Lead is toxic regardless of the claims made by manufacturers about their coatings and we shouldn’t be dropping them unless the situation absolutely requires it for fish safety.

Aren't these all, basically, bolt rigs? Which used to be frowned upon?
@fishingtutorials Жыл бұрын
Hi mate, these are all fishing weights or ‘leads’. A bolt rig is any rig which is not free running. I don’t believe bolt rigs have ever been frowned upon. It’s fixed rigs which are an issue as a fish could end up trailing a weight if snapped off.

Day 51 asking how to set your reel drag and what settings to use when.
@Markusgebvor2 жыл бұрын
Why asking such a basic question?
@leem252 жыл бұрын
@@Markusgebvor because everybody has to start somewhere? Its better to ask than guess and have your line snap and a tethered fish. Its a fishing tutorials channel for god sake
@Markusgebvor2 жыл бұрын
@@leem25 no no, don’t understand me wrong. Everyone has started, i fully agree. But there is really not much worse than explaining the clutch setup, at least i think. To me, there are 2 setups for adjusting the clutch. When fishing in front of snags, it should be 99 % locked. And when fishing open waters, it set the drag relatively loose, so the line can be pulled off relatively easy because I like to adjust the brake pressure with my finger on the spool. And since these 2 states can be verified in your own by pulling line on off the spool, this doesn’t need many explanations…

Interesting video, I am fortunate I guess as only tend to use small flat in line weights, but then a long cast is around 20 yards. More your small river carp fishing then big lakes.
