Now that's some handy information right there. I'm gonna put some PVC on one end of my tonneau bed cover and a pool noodle on the other and see if that don't hold them in place while I travel around. I might aught to put another noodle down near the reel end of the rod to help hold it in place.

Hey Dude, I like the theme of your DIY projects. I have a good topic suggestion for ya. How about 10 unconventional uses for zip ties. For example, the car dealer stripped the holes for my truck license plate (must have used a power tool) and I noticed the screws were loose. I jammed a couple zip tie segments in the holes and the screws now tighten very snug. Another application: my Mustang had a rear end knock over bumps due to slight play in the bushing around the rear sway bar (non-moving part, which costs $400 to replace) but a couple of large zip ties snugged it right up since they had the perfect elasticity for the job. There must be lots of other unconventional uses.

I'm about to build apvc storage for inside my RAV4. I currently have some of those straps you can find, but they suck! They have small Velcro circles that I guess you are supposed to undo Everytime you want your rod out, nope, I slid the woods over the top of the strap, and of course baits get stuck, they slide around making noise. So I'm gonna get some PVC probably 3-4 feet, mount them to those straps and slide the poles inside.
