Remember guys, "real" wheels won't make up for garbage driving. Smack a curb at 50-65 mph, most wheels will fail regardless of brand. If you're doing a lot of drifting or road course racing, wheels will eventually become a consumable item so that cost is multiplied and recurring. Get what works best for your situation and skill level. If you haven't moved out the novice run group yet, TE37Ls won't help you do that. Use that money on tires and more seat time. Also, if you're wanting to support some of the OG companies (which is awesome to see happen), please buy new! They get absolutely nothing from secondhand/used wheel sales.

Indeed! To add to that with a possibly unpopular opinion: If you can afford it and want to "save the manuals," buy such cars new. Use your money to show stockholders what you want and why they should care. This could also apply to EVs, as I've heard that some companies are researching how best to implement a manual transmission in an electric vehicle.

Was looking forward to this, because recently I’ve been looking forward for a wheel in your website. Unfortunately you guys don’t have it, so I think I should feel out the blanks for help as soon as I do more research on the right fitment for my car. But this is one thing I found to be underrated at some level: the lack of white finish wheels. They are sexy (depending which ones and on which car) and somehow allows the performance calipers be somewhat more noticeable, I just love that contrast.

Real wheels can still get curbed, rock chipped, bent, or even stolen like any other wheel you put on your car, so if you're strictly using the car as a daily, it doesn't always make sense to throw $4,000 on a set of real wheels since you're not using them to its fullest potential anyway. That said, I'm personally not a fan of supporting rep companies so I normally gravitate towards other brands that offer quality wheels with original designs while keeping the prices reasonable: Enkei, Konig, OZ, Gram Lights, etc.
@insertname9412 жыл бұрын
Yeah i was gonna say it doesnt take a huge budget to have nice wheels from a reputable company at all like i can find sets of wheels for under 2k from some dealers of the lower end og companies all day in "daily driver" specs. I think people just get into cars with little money and think oh ima throw a 800 dollar set of fuckin jresrko 017773 wheels. Like its cool n all but i just would rather have sum wheels with heritage and history backing the name on any whip im building

Just wondering why Motegi is never mentioned except for the one video explaining its history. It's a dam good, very underrated wheel. For example, the Motegi MR131's that I got from you guys look good, are flow formed, my 17x8 weigh just about 17.5 pounds, and are extremely affordable. At just under $900.00 for the set delivered to my front door, you just can't go wrong. Gonna purchase a 2nd set. But back to my original question. Why do you guys never really mention Motegi? people to constantly clown reps a lot of times don't own their car, or a house etc etc.. and really just look for scene points. If you don't like reps that's cool and have "real" wheels that's cool too but thinking you are better than someone else just because the brand of wheels is corny. I've seen reps that look good on nice cars and "real" wheel on clapped out cars. A clean build is a clean build. Most of the cars these wheels are going on are meet/show cars and modded daily drivers. If your wheels cost more than your cars or having the top brands just to hard park is your thing its like you are doing it just to impress others. I could care less if you have reps but the only time its a little weird if the build is completely higher end/performance and then the wheels are reps. But I wouldn't clown someone either. Who knows could be placeholder. A lot of people who build tuner cars aren't balling as much as they act like they are.

I drive on reps because I daily use it and it still looks good. Also I can buy new sets if I change the styles and no not worry about breaking my wallet. Why buy expensive wheels for daily if they will will still get dented up and damaged hitting potholes at 50 mph +. My 2 cents. But for a show car or track use then maybe worth it.

I just bought some SVE R350 wheels. They're GT350 reps, but I got mine in bronze. They're flow formed, and lighter than my old Shelby Razor wheels, and will fit big brakes (regrets, I bought them 6 years ago when I knew nothing and thought they looked cool, they're also cast....). In my situation, they're an upgrade, and I got them in a color you couldn't get legit ones in. At the end of the day, I upgraded, and stayed in my budget. That being said, I did my research, and found that SVE are "good" reps. I could see the Chineseiam wheels giving reps a bad rep.

The only real comment I have on this, and I mean this constructively, is "Real Wheel" makes the reps sound like their toys or models not things that you can actually drive on. The rep wheels we're talking about are street-able, even if their not as good on the track. these Rep wheels are real wheels. The "Real" wheels could more helpfully be called Originals. I feel like Original vs Replica makes the context more clear. Other than that, great video guys. Keep up the hard work.
@extrudatinoal2 жыл бұрын
Due to the inconsistent manufacturing process and the spotty QC, reps are ironically less streetable than stocks or steelies. You'll get a better ride and depending on the weight, even more gas milage. If you're talking about a daily, especially in today's economy and considering the horrendous gas prices, that is a real consideration. I'd throw reps on a rolling chassis to get it around but thats about it.
