1. Ask what we need 2. Learn language preferences 3. Be patient with us, social communication can be difficult, that’s the way we communicate 4. Let us set our own expectations - what we capable of, want to achieve and want support for 5. Listen to us, not specialists

We autistic folks are "experts by experience". Totally agree with this! I wish people would respect this at, for example, work in respect of reasonable adjustments.

I'm not an autistic person, but I know how it feels to be bullied, not included & being left alone. Those are some of the cruel things you would do to a person. I decide to be the change and support & love every person who needs it. I take a vow.

Right bullied and left out from childhood to teen years and than misunderstood until I was 29 I agree with your comment here.

@@henriettaabeyta1457 infact I was autistic & I still have few characteristic features of Asperger's syndrome. I didn't speak a word till I was 4.

@@comrade4985 because I just do. We are literally inferior to normal people. We think slow and we can’t do things to the greatest extent that normal people can (example: Communication and learning)

yes yes yes! especially listening to autistic people omg!! your videos have been really helpful for educating my family and others. ive been building a doc with resources from autistic sources for them to look at so they dont end up on "puzzle piece, autism mom, 'you can still be happy even if you have autism'" stuff cause, woof that would be bad. plus my mom's a teacher and she could probably help inform her collogues too.

I have some issues that I genuinely want support with in my life. I tend to be an impressionable person and I hate being that way in my life. I also tend to not be so well with discipline, and I still struggle with self-control. How can I, as an autistic person, overcome these things, as well as also let neurotypical women know that I have things all together in my life?

Hey, mrs Purple Ella! My name is Alice and I'm an autistic young lady (20 years old) that was recently diagnosed and created a website and a facebook page about autism and neurodiversity! The name of the website and the facebook page is A Menina Neurodiversa, which means the neurodiverse girl. I would like very much to interview more neurodiverse people, including other people on the spectrum as well as people with other mental conditions! My pages are in Portuguese, but the website has a translation option. Would you give me the pleasure of interviewing you? I'd make some questions via text and then I would translate your answers and post the interview on my website and share it on my facebook page. Is that okay? Thank you for your attention :) Alice.

I'm Autistic and am constantly told I need to be more supportive and a cheerleader of sorts. But I do try and show support by being there and listening but thats never enough. I ask them what they need and try to repeat it but it always sounds weird or fake. I'm told during conversations I need to assert their feelings are right and show overt support, but it feels awkward and clumsy.

Just tell them the truth and if they cannot accept it, then that is on them, for you are a better person by being honest than it is to lie. Moreover, those people should also know that autistic people, as a whole, tend to not only hate to lie, but that they are also not good at doing it in their lives. (This is also why we suck at games like poker and mah jongg, as they require subterfuge and deception).
