I actually just loosened the bolts to in intake manifold and was able to remove spark plugs without it's complete removal .

2:54 nah it's cos that sensor clip is a bitch to get off, I couldn't figure it out when I did the oil pressure sensor so kept it on and split the top of the airbox and intake hose. 4:02 have the radio code at hand but you won't need it, I had the battery disconnected for over 45 mins and it remembered everything, pretty sure it has a ROM chip in it.

Hey mate, very helpful video. At the 30:40 mark you point out some seals that are very important to replace, i know what the rocker cover gasket is but whats that seal called that youre pointing out?. Or are the seals already on the new coil packs?.New to the Adventra/allotyec scene. Thanks heaps and look forward to part 2.
@EMP_castlebravo4 жыл бұрын
graham7250 Hey mate. Those seals are usually called tube seals or spark plug tube seals. If you’re looking for a kit to replace rocker covers just make sure it’s has three of those in the pack. Most common rocker cover gasket kits will have a version that is with/without. Holden recommends usage of a special tool to install these but you can make-do without if you are careful. Hope this helps. (I will have a part 2 coming out soon)

@@EMP_castlebravo awesome thanks for the quick reply, will look into them. Was just going to do the coils/plugs but might as well do the rockers while we're there. Thanks again.

Hi mate when’s part 2 coming out and what did you end up doing with the pcv?
@EMP_castlebravo3 жыл бұрын
G'Day mate. It took me forever to edit the second half of the video but its been uploaded on my Channel. As for the PCV, I ended up using a small drill bit to enlarge the holes in the PCV port to allow for more airflow and to discourage gunk from building up.

The studs on the strut towers that you bolt the brace to has nothing to do with holding the springs on it’s only there for the brace

Hi mate,my alloy tech engine having a leak at the front both side is it came the rocker cover?
@EMP_castlebravo2 жыл бұрын
Two real possibilities. Could be a leak in the rocker covers or worse could be the timing chain cover. Best bet is to take off the plastic engine covers and the intake pipe and use a torch to find the highest point where you can see oil. There’s also a small possibility that it could be coming through the O-rings around the sensors and actuators on the front of the motor but I’ve heard that’s quite rare. I’d also double check that the PCV system is flowing correctly. If you can, check both PCV tubes for oil residue. That could indicate a blocked PVC leading to pressure in the crankcase forcing oil out of places it isn’t supposed to.
@AllTerrainAction2 жыл бұрын
@@EMP_castlebravo do you have a guide that shows how to replace o-rings around the sensors and actuators on the front?
@EMP_castlebravo2 жыл бұрын
@@AllTerrainAction I don’t actually. Eventually I want to pull this engine out and do a complete tear down and rebuild but not on the table at the moment unfortunately.
@AllTerrainAction2 жыл бұрын
@@EMP_castlebravo I have seen some other guides but it seems they just rip it outwards.. and replace. Ah well.. hopefully in the distant future. My alloytec is around 250k now so it'll be interesting to see the condition of mine. Thats almost 100k of off road action, with 7k interval oil changes with diesel spec and friction reduction additive and regular pcv maintenance. Fingers crossed!

I have a 04 holden vz I've done sparks and coil packs as my motor has some out of it shake to it makes the car rock while idling what would be the cause of that all pullys etc sit fine and sits at revs normal no jumping or missing
@EMP_castlebravo2 жыл бұрын
Have you double checked the engine mounts? I can’t say it’s those for certain based on what you’ve asked but a bad vibration can easily be transmitted through bad mounts.

Sir Where is the pcv in lumina LS V6 2007
@EMP_castlebravo3 жыл бұрын
If it’s using the same engine, the PCV will be on the drivers side rocker cover, right up the back of the motor. If you’re talking about a different version of the Alloytec, best advice is to figure out which tubes coming off the intake manifold are the PCV and follow them back to the rocker covers. You will usually need to remove the decorative covers from the engine so you have full access to all the hoses that run along the engine to provide vacuum pressure.

FYI those nuts that hold the strut brace in have nothing to do with the springs
@gjmob3 жыл бұрын
I cringe when I see a standard car using a strut brace, as its there because the body is so weak that the strut towers are coming together, evidenced by the fact that the brace was tight to remove.
@EMP_castlebravo3 жыл бұрын
Adventra is heavier than the standard commodore it was based on and was designed to be used in heavier-duty applications. Holden solved this by making the C- Pillar much more substantial and adding a strut-brace, as well as a much bulkier front subframe.
@AllTerrainAction2 жыл бұрын
@@gjmob Adventra has so many more additions than just a strut brace... its a commodore on steriods pretty much and it will literally just about go anywhere
