Focus healing the tank can get you a lot of healing done. The numbers are irrelevant. Did your team win or lose? That's all that matters. Sure, you got 20k healing by spam healing the tank for 5 minutes straight, but you ignored your dps and other healer, who each have 5-10 deaths. I've lost count of the number of times I've been standing next to a healer as a tank or dps, asking for heals, and being completely ignored. I don't need to be babysat, just get me enough HP that I wont die from splash damage. I've DIED next to a healer I was trying to get heals from. And it isn't like I'm not in their line of sight. Then when I point this shit out, what do I get at the end of the game? "Check my healing".

It’s hilarious because not only am I great at MY job, I outperform the duelist who doesn’t know how to do theirs. My biggest hate is the ppl who pick Duelist AFTER the match begins Like I finally think I have a chance to pick duelist, then a minute in they spawn as duelist, we have 5 and I have to end up swapping. Here's the catch-22. If I swap roles every time I'm doing poorly I will probably win more games in the short term and reach a higher rank. But then when I'm at that rank I'm going to suck ass any time I try to dps and I will have to tank or heal if I even want a 50% chance of winning. Role queue with separate MMRs per role fixes this. Until that's a thing I'll flex on my main account but I'm going to have an account that's almost all DPS only and if I'm on that I'm sorry. I'm going to take the L and keep my MMR where I can play DPS competitively.

I dont think he was denying that that happens sometimes. The point is the other team has an equal chance to roll crappy teammates. If you are a better player, then your crappy teams will, on average, be better than their crappy teams, and you still climb.

But I just wanted to share my experience with some players who are just beyond delusional, and most of the time they are DPS players, who THEN are really bad at playing DPS and THEN blame their teammates. I am flexing almost every game between Tank and Support and I love playing them.

The averages only hit over a larger number of games, it is entirely feasible for a single player to get predominantly good teams, or predominantly awful teams, and you won't see those start to average out more until you get a LOT of games played. "A lot" here could be upwards of 100, or even a thousand... That's kinda the issue a lot of people will run into. It's hard to know for sure due to the multitude of factors, but if you have even a remotely decent shot at getting awful teams, we're talking thousands of people in the playerbase that have 20+ comp games played and all of them were with people that would be better replaced by bots.

Nah, keep playing ranked however you want, just accept that you are going to lose sometimes if you don't flex. If you're good enough you will climb even when you have a one trick because you will recognize that and try to work with them for combos.

Hahaha same. My irl friends are bronze/silver players who said it was impossible to climb solo q because they got shit team mates every game. Me and my other friend decided to solo q to prove them wrong. We're currently D2 pure solo q meanwhile the others are still in bronze in silver. We still play quick play with them though. Thank the heavens for bot lobbies and getting to do those hard to get achievements 🤣

I think the big problem with the whole ‘everyone plays dps’ is that’s where the majority of the characters are. There’s 18 DPS out of 33 characters, more than half so naturally more people on a law of averages are going to play those characters. Overwatch had the same problem at launch.

Just a reminder that when you play with randoms you can’t “control” anyone. U can ask nicely for someone to switch(which is your best chance) but if they don’t want to play the class, then there’s really nothing you can do about it. Ask yourself, “what’s more important: me having fun with this class I’m playing, or winning the match”. Some will say playing the class which is totally fine because it’s about having fun, but accept that you probably won’t win and don’t complain about it. If winning is more important that’s cool too, but YOU need to be the one to switch because that’s ultimately the only part of the situation you can change. And it may suck because you’ve already played vanguard 4 games in a row, but sometimes winning and having fun with a class are mutually exclusive.

4:05 Story that relates to this message: Last night I started grinding towards GM. During a D1 game, the only GM player on my team immediately said in chat "You Diamond Losers better get kills, my last game the enemy Namor went 41/3 with no contest" So I immediately knew this guy was tilted. My duo went "Yeah but that was last game, we got this" and they were NOT having it lmao. Throughout the game they would Luna Snow ult themselves to run away instead of just dying to reset with the rest of the team, wasting a team fight ultimate, and would shit talk the enemy team for 3v1 jumping them instead of just realizing he was the only person left after we got team wiped. Then, although we got the Payload to ALMOST point 2, he typed GGs in the chat. We would've captured Point 2 for sure if we had Luna ult too, which was just an unfortunate consequence. At the start of our Defense Round I just said "It's fine, we got this, just avoid, report, and move on" and they just started shit talking me the rest of the game. On Defense we held them for SO long, the rest of the team was positive and giving great callouts, while this guy was keyboard warrior raging the whole time. We won the match, they had the least amount of healing in the game, the most amount of deaths, and started DPS Loki-ing and still didn't even come close to the dmg everyone else in the game did besides the other supports. After we won I said "You're welcome Loki, everyone else did great" just to spark the flames more haha. I didn't mention their name specifically outside of that sentence. The in game chat rage boner after that was SO funny.

One of the things I’m liking about vanguard is the fact they put a lot of diverse playstyles in it other than “hold up shield and tank damage”. You want to do damage: play Thor or groot. You like to dive: play venom or even cap. If you want to support and strategize, play peni or magneto. You want to make crazy plays with high mobility, play hulk. And if you want a higher chance of winning, you play strange😂. Edit: Okay, people are thinking this was my way of saying overwatch tanks don’t have diversity in their playstyles. @@MybrotherInRa 3 dps isn't an issue, the issue is when people do really bad and refuse to swap, AT LEAST TO AN OTHER DPS character. Perhaps they as a player doesn't suck, but their hero gets hard countered by the enemy comp (or heroes), yet they just play the same shit over and over again. 1 trick ponies in games like this are annoying as hell, and it could only work if you are insanely good, but even then it's better to be able to play more than 1, at least in your main role. Edit: not to mention some heroes do better or worse on certain maps. There are advantages the structure of the map gives to you, or disadvantages, yet even in diamond nobody really cares about these things. I swear to god dia is the worst elo, not plat.

Not to 1 up you but I played earlier today and I was the only healer 4 dps and 1 tank. I proceed to do 18,000 damage, 34,000 healing and only die twice I finish the game with only 2 deaths and 30 elims. I out healed the entire enemy team and I had the most damage on my team and we got fucking destroyed. I think the matchmaking is worse than over watch I constantly shit on enemy teams as luna or mantis and lose it seems the worse I do the better my teammates are. I can't stand it I should not have the most damage on luna every ranked game I play 😂

Said it many times: in competitive only they should make a role limit, NOT a role que! Implement a rule that you can only have 3 of any class (IE 3 Duelists are ok, 4 is not, same with Vanguard or Strategist), and it’ll be first come, first serve. Being honest here... the first tik tok hit kinda hard. I have gotten into more dps lobbies now that the game's been out way more often than when the game's first week. People are probably all in the same boat, going game after game with 4 instalock dps and just itching to get to play their dps main too. But this shit is annoying... my friends have flexibility for the other roles, but simply say "ay we need tank/healing" with like full dps, then look at me and i just have to say "ya it's gonna be one of those games huh" and instalock adam warlock.

I mean even without the 20% damage boost her numbers are still outrageous. A fire rate decrease would be my solution to her. That coupled with her longish reload would give more of a window to recover from her hitscan burst from full map away. The other glaring issue is her ultimate. Either A) They make it so if you kill her in the air she actually dies or B) She should have dramatically reduced health (-35%ish) or C) Take away her wall hacks while in the ult. Oh and I completely forgot about the 3rd issue. Bring her down to 250hp. This change also extends to Luna Snow.

I had a comp game on Yggsgard KOTH where I was playing C&D and I was pumping healing into everybody I could because they would just rush in and attack the tanks being pocketed instead of the healers, and then I would die because the other team knew that if you got rid of the supports the team would fall. Some guy playing DPS said I needed to heal more, the only time I switched to cloak was to blind enemys that my team was fighting or use the fade because their Cap was on my ass again, for the rest I was throwing out heals. Next round comes and that guy says that I need to switch, and so I do, we lost and at the end screen it showed that I in that first round healed about 8k and the other guy like 4k or 5k I forget. That same day (don't remember if it was before or after) I was on the Wakanda payload map as Loki, we tried our best but we were just short of reaching the 2nd objective, we swap to defense and our Hela was malding about our team not doing enough healing... I had a little less than 18k healing in that single round, not to mention our second healer who was also there with like 7k healing I believe. That Hela was so pissed they decided to just stay afk in spawn and throw the match, one thing they said was "report me I don't care" like bro are you really going to act this way because we didn't get to the 2nd objective?

Learning to flex is super important. I'm a Penni main and have the most hours and kills with her, but I also play cloak and dagger decently AND if we have a luna snow Namor is amazing at being a DPS tank with the extra turret and invulnerable bubble. Switched off Penni when we were losing to Namor in ranked and a few people got titled but very soon saw that he can hold a zone with those 3 turrets amazing. Maybe one of the best team up abilities in the game. You get his ult so fast. Went from like 11 kills to 40 thanks to that Luna with Namor

So, I just had a scenario with a one trick Duelist, a Hawkeye player. Guy did horrible. He was getting diffed in 1s by enemy Hawkeye and Hela. I asked him to switch (I was the only tank), because I noticed he was getting diffed. He told me, and I quote "I'm locked in now". Still gets diffed in the second round and starts blaming the other DPS and our Healers and complained how we only have 1 tank (me). So instead of switching, like I asked him earlier and be the solution, he doubled down and threw so hard he made one of our other good dps leave because he was sick of this Hawkeye throwing. I got into an after game argument in the results screen with this Hawkeye. He talked about how he was in Diamond. I countered with "Well you're in Plat 2 now, so you obviously deranked from not switching". He responded with "I deranked because I was on vacation", which is a lie, because rank decay only happens at Eternity (I did the research). I told him he "Needs to be the solution, not the problem, especially if other dps aren't willing to be that said solution", he didn't respond. I looked at his career profile...boy did he lie his f'ing ass. Said he was in Diamond, highest rank reached was Plat 1. Didn't want to switch off Hawkeye, because he was a one trick. He had 39 hours on Hawkeye and only 1.5 hours on Venom as his second most most played hero. I screenshotted that stuff and sent it to my friends. We all had a good laugh. Delusional people are hilarious, but it sucks they make comp so insufferable.

the problem with hela is the season buff. makes her have the same dmg bonus of the team up. same with all team up. i dont know if its a bugg or intencional, but those character have the buff regardless of the team up active or not. is not stack dmg , so if you take the team up doesnt get more dmg. but yeah people tested , and venom have 650 base hp (web site info) and when you pick venom he has 800 the 150 of the team up. same with hela , she has 70 dmg per shot, but she has the dmg amp from the team up because of the season buff, that makes her able to 3 body shot spiderman, something that she couldnt do if she had the 70 dmg per shot

If you want to climb you really need to learn at least 2 characters in each class. I did this and my win percentage increased from 50ish % to almost 80%. Last ranked game I played I was gonna use penni but noticed another guy tried to select her but switched to a third dps once he couldn't get her. I switched to groot and he went back to her making the team perfectly balanced with 2 of each class and we absolutely slapped the enemy team in 6 mins.

tbh most people that reach a good enough rank (diamond and above) understand what he is saying. I one tricked my way to diamond playing hela instalocking, talking in voice coms and not yelling at people but negotiating with them and not tilting when you get a bad game. After diamond, i started to branch out (a little forced since hela is always banned) and very rarely do i get a team comp that is too out of the norm that it diminishes the chances of winning.

I think we can all agree one of the most troubling things is the ragers who judge you as the fill role. There's no role queue and every character can carry a game if played to their optimal, anyone can fill the role they believe another is lacking in, especially the DPS players who can still do a lot of damage whilst tanking or healing in another role. Imagine raging at someone for playing a needed role in a free pick - something we can't take for granted anymore because there's nothing forcing team cooperation - and blaming THEM for doing what the rager won't step up to carry the game with. So I played a round where we had 4 dualist mains, 3 were willing to flex. we had a dualist that was doing ok but not carrying damage, and one that was doing honestly pretty bad, so we needed more damage. The worse dualist said they feel like they do nothing on strategist and it feels like they have no impact, but we reassured that it is the most important role and that if they went strategist we would help them feel as impactful as possible. Long story short both dualist switched out with the strategists and we went on a steamroll where the worse dualist played jeff on a level I wish I could perform at. They even said that it rocked at the end, and that is how I fear we created a jeff god, lol. (Also, me and my duo are vangaurd mains and thus played 2 vangaurds all match.)

Tank main and i don't care if we have 2-3-4 DPS in team, as long as they do the job. If i see someone struggling, i tell them to stand behind me and just shoot in a general direction of enemy. The take that a flex player will climb faster than the average no swap ones statistically it makes sense, and honestly I climb from Gold to GM in a weekend playing Vanguard and Strategist. Strange is an amazing solo tank, Luna, Mantis, Loki and Adam are great support picks that can carry a game. Flexing is so good tbh.

I'm a Magneto main but I can also play Strage and Hulk well, in DPS I can play Wolverine and Black Panther well, and in support I can play Mantis and Luna Snow well. Being flexible is actually so important in ranked, even if I main tanks in this game. I try to atleast be as flexible as possible even with what tank I choose so that way nobody gets mad and I'm contributing for the whole team.

Not getting heals from a Cloak and Dagger is Diabolical, Cloak and Daggers are always at 90% or up Accuracy, you can't miss a single heal, no matter how bad your aim is on other characters. 😅

surprised I haven't seen anyone upload the penny combo its so mean with the venom team up basically you just set up the nest safe and a bit back and add a bunch of mines then use her web sling to flank then follow with the team up ability to push the team into the fully loaded nest, I've personally gotten a quadra with it and its awfully satisfying also the combo is gone soon so enjoy it while it lasts ;)

as a CD main im getting people from all sides telling me to do 5000 different things if i stand there all game heal botting 9/10 we're losing the fight realistically i shouldnt be the only healer on the team while spiderman is beating my ass in the backline

Part of learning the game is developing your flexes so you don't have to rely on the perfect storm of teammates to win, you can help make the difference in those matches.

@@sbsftw4232 exactly, I think another thing is like if one of your mains is Luna Snow, and you have a starlord on your team, don't just play Adam for the teamup, stick with what you know and if you really think knowing how to play Adam would've won you game, learn some adam

I've always been a solo que player And in rivals I'm almost to platinum this season Keep in mind in overwatch my all time high is gold 4 In r6 siege it's like silver 2 I think And I am almost in gold 1 in rivals (1 game off) And it really doesn't seem like I'm slowing down I wouldn't be surprised if next season I could easily reach plat hell I might reach it this season Hell by the fact I'm still gaining like 40 a win I wouldn't be surprised if I reached diamond pretty easily And all I do is play everything else except DPS I main strange on tank And on support I main mantis or Luna

@@ireallydontknow278 If you are good on all 3 of those characters then you could easily reach diamond. Just having a Mantis or Luna on a team that can use their ults at a good time raises your win percentage greatly. Good luck out there! Assemble!

@Dizzifying1 I mean I'm pretty confident Right now I have like 19 games on mantis And I've won 17 of those games So I'm pretty confident in reaching diamond (though I also haven't really played mantis recently I've played strange more so now But I still have like 6 games with like 5 wins on him )

in games if people go 4 dps, i just don't bother flexing at that point. i wont solo heal, and i won't play tank with one healer. ill just play as if we already lost and just casually do my own thing. idk WHY they have so many duelists...you can argue "overwatch does it too!" but no it doesn't, overwatch has a REASON its so flooded with dps heros, and thats because of the offense/defense split created from them thinking "attackers will use attack heros and defenders will use defensive heros" its completely different. most of those heros could've also been strategists or even vanguards, or there were better options to pick for the other roles, so theres really no excuses. another thing is why are supports called strategists. i get they desperately wanted to sound different from overwatch, but strategist is so deceptive. strategists aren't healers, they are planners, leaders, etc. are they going to make EVERY leader/intelligent hero/villain a support? because im pretty sure they cant do that, and have already failed a bit on that. call them healers, don't force uniqueness when it doesn't make sense. duelests and vanguard make sense, but strategist and support aren't correlated at ALL. last one was a bit of a ranty pet peeve, but honestly, i don't get it.

I don't understand what the problem with role queue is. They can have both open and role queue. That way, people who want to play a specific role can choose that role specifically. And those who want to flex or play with different compositions can do so in open queue.
