Idk there have been many articles warning against Erythritol. Splenda makes a liquid monk fruit sweetener without erythritol and Pyure makes a stevia sweetener without erythritol. Both can be found at Walmart. Personally I like the taste of 50/50 stevia and monk fruit in foods and drinks that I need sweetened and opt out of sweeteners that contain erythritol.

Xylitol is a 1 on the glycemic index, sugar is 100 on the glycemic index, highly recommended by dentists for oral health and prevents cavities. Xylitol is also good for your gut, it feeds the good flora in your gut. Xylitol in large quantity can cause diarrhea. I highly recommend it. Birch xylitol is the only one I use, it's sweet with no after taste, it looks and tastes just like sugar and it cooks and bakes like sugar. Doesn't spike sugar, good for keto, all in all, a very sweet deal.

Another great video Bobby, I'm a casual watcher of your channel. Thank you for pointing out again that you really have to read the ingredients to know what you're getting. Companies adding ingredients to health food that significantly reduces the health benefits of them (maltodextrin to stevia for example), misleading individuals into making purchases they think will help improve their health for its benefits when actually makes it worse; this behavior the greater food industry has is disgusting. It's up to us to be vigilant and support companies that make great product.

I have been adding Monk fruit to my tea along with liquid stevia (I like my tea sweet!). I didn't notice before, but it has 8 grams of carbs per serving. It is coming from a fruit. Even though it is natural I believe that it is not zero calories. Also, I learned that it would not be good for diabetics to use in place of sugar. There is a video on KZbin with an Asian doctor who explains this.

My friend likes Swereve the best. She finds Stevia has a weird & bitter aftertaste) I especially liked your 'warning' about 'natural flavours'. Unfortunately, for diabetics who are on a low carb plan, or those who have fatty liver disease, none of the "low sugar" drinks and ice creams or snack bars are an option except perhaps on rare occasions as a rare treat, because they still contain well above the total carb content that can be consumed for blood sugar stability. This is especially true if you're trying to reverse T2 diabetes or fatty liver. There's just no getting around the carbs, except to consume them as whole foods in non-starchy, vegetable form.

I’m a huge fan of Bobby. I’ve lost 45 lbs doing a low carb clean keto diet in the last 6 months. So I’ve taken a lot of info away from his channel. However I have to say, I think he gets everyone a bit too hysterical with the natural flavors. I agree it is chemicals in food and should be something you want to try and avoid. But if you want to eat a treat every once in awhile and it has natural flavors in it, guess what, you’re gonna be just fine. I did a little research, and as far as I can see there’s been no documented deaths in this country caused by natural flavors. My preworkout drink has it, and I love the extra energy it gives me. I get such a better workout with it. So while I love and appreciate the knowledge that Bobby drops here, he needs to roll it back with the natural flavor paranoia.

I'm never looking back to high calorie high glycemic index sweeteners. It's an easy hack to cut quite a bit of sugar and inflammation out of your diet. I can even see people who are otherwise not that committed to changing their diet doing this. We love the videos and your positive attitude.

I agree with just about everything you post, but I just can't get behind this one. Stevia and monkfruit seem the least processed, but Erythritol is very refined and highly processed, no? I don't understand how something man-made can possibly be healthier than naturally made products, i.e. honey or maple syrup. Have had no issues maintaining good health and weight using whole foods as sweetners such as these. Of course, moderation is everything!

If it's non-GMO then I don't see a problem.
@whitneymartinez33424 жыл бұрын
@@NR-nf1il every sugar alcohol on the market is highly refined even if it comes from a natural source (i.e. Burch trees).. I'm always surprised Bobby supports them considering how much he is against natural flavoring. I don't see much of a difference. I spend a lot of time/money getting highly processed stuff out of my families diet, but yet I'm to believe that these options are optimal for health compared for maple syrup or honey, which are more whole foods than erythritol ever could be. Also, like he mentions, these can be very disruptive to your gut health if too much is consumed. I think sugar alcohols have given many people an excuse to eat more junk. Additionally, these don't fully break down in the gut suggesting that there is likely fermentation of undigested sugar alcohols in the gut which may not feed bad bacteria, but has the potential to exacerbate yeast problems. I just think he and many other people on this bandwagon got it wrong. At least for my family we avoid these like we would any other zero calorie sweeteners or any other highly processed junk food.

Isn't erythritol another name for sugar? I would stay away and don't agree with bobby
@whitneymartinez33422 жыл бұрын
@@13alejandre erythritol is a man made zero calorie sweetener. They claim it's natural because it is derivatives are natural sources. Fact is, it is highly processed and has no place in the gut.

Thanks for the info, I currently use stevia and was thinking of trying monkfruit. Should probably just switch to honey, seems like the healthiest way to go, less processed.

Have you shared any thoughts on air frying? It’s something that I’m just beginning to look into. Idk if it is actually something to try or it’s just an improvement over deep frying which I would never.

I love my air fryer. You use no oil or a little olive oil. It has to be better.

I tried baking peanut butter cookies with the Monkfruit/erithrytol sweetener and peanut flour. Didn't turn out so great. The sweetener left a cooling/burning mouthfeel and a bitter aftertaste. Any suggestions for baking when more than a cup of sweetener is needed for baking?

I don't care for the taste of Stevia. I did 2 teaspoons of Lakanto monk fruit in a bowl of Cheerios and my soy milk. My stomach was messed up something horrible. I can only do 1 tsp max of the Lakanto. My Vega protein powder has natural flavors and I contacted the company to find out what their natural flavors consisted of and I was satisfied. I prefer minimum real sugar over artificial sweeteners anyway. Can't indulge in either without issues. Also just because it's non-GMO it can still be full of pesticides. I buy organic non-GMO when ever possible. It cost more but I am worth it.

After going to the doctor complaining about a recurring pain in my belly, which he couldn't help with, I tried going to nutritionists to clean up my diet and heal whatever was happening. My experience has been they are sales people for supplements. I'm very happy an informed consumer is sharing his experiences. I've made some changes and already feel less pain.

Long time sweet tea drinker, switch out sugar to monkfruit. So some of the good things, the taste is 99% perfect so now I can get off sugar and lose some weight. The bad things, I don't know if this was just me but I would drink more and faster for some reason like I was dehydrated and then came the gas and diarrhea.
