We set up around 6:30 & packed up around 10. Short morning, but for us it doesn’t make sense to stay at the market until noon or later just to sell another $20 of items. Our sales come pretty quickly in the morning rush, which is good!

Just watched Taco’s video now your video Renee . When I was a kid growing up up my mom always said other people’s discards can easily be treasure bro others . She used to give away Clothing and other stuff to Charity or the church Rummage sale . My parents are gone now but I do exactly what she did . Every season I pack up new or gently used Clothing and other items to donate to charities . But also buy things from Thrift store etc. Always give more than I take .,Your Very pleasant and enjoy watching both You and Taco Stacks videos . ❤😊

I can’t walk by fig newtons I don’t 9:33 know why but those or Oreos with milk are a weakness. One of my favorite parts of the flea market has to be great food deals

I tried to convey the "Reselling isn't always the exciting, once-in-a-lifetime find kind of day" vibe haha. The important part is that we were able to sell the majority of what we brought & that leaves for happy customers and more room for other purchases! I've also realized that while I have always thought that fall was the prime time for flea markets, that looks to be changing more towards the end of spring/beginning of summer. I just remember fall being the packed, no empty seller space available market in the past but not anymore. Like the seasons, everything changes! Lots of rain & cold sounds like a good time to stay inside and get some reading done! Hope you had a nice weekend despite the weather!

Haven’t been to Jake’s yet this year. I always hear mixed reviews, some say it’s really good & others say they don’t find anything. I’ll probably get there in November when my market closes.

@@PaperandMoose I can understand why people say that. I like it because it’s close and is almost always packed on Sundays. It really depends on what your looking for, but you do tend to see the same stuff over and over again.

Ahhh. This helps explain what a flea market is to us in the UK. We call them Car Boot sales. As in the past you parked up and sold out directly out of your car boot ( trunk to US peeps) but now most people set up tables and gazebos etc. :)

Funny - just a few hundred miles away (OK 500) and the patterns are different. We have an uptick now with the first cool weather since June. Everyone needs a horse blanket. For the trunk of your car in case you slide off the road in a blizzard or a spontaneous picnic develops. I would have bought the old, steel spoked wheel. Lots one can do with that. Of course I enjoy your commentary when you do so - but you are (re) perfecting the silent move - and doing it well. Perhaps when you do these no (or little) talking ones you should show them in black and white with those funny old cue cards of dialog in between. Have a great weekend, and thanks!

That would be funny - add in that classic silent film movie music, the cue cards, would be great! On a selling flea market day, there isn't much chatting besides the occasional banter when adding up someone's items or responding to questions of how much something is. I didn't shop that much either, as we wanted to set up as soon as we were able to and be ready for the first rush of people. I am ready for the cooler weather! The weekend was in the upper 70s here, so you are dressing for 40-degree weather in the morning & by 8am it feels like spring outside, so off goes the jacket & scarf. Soon enough we will be waiting for the first snow to fall! Hope that you had a nice weekend!
