My Alexa was playing Fleetwood Mac 20 mins before going to identify my father's body ( couldn't afford a viewing or funeral ) And this song came on 🙏 Thank you Stevie for creating this An for anyone taking the time to read my comment .

@Lacesoflove5 ай бұрын
She had four abortions. But this song is about her friend Sara Recor (Mick's wife).
@chris-sauv4 ай бұрын
@@Lacesoflove I think you are both right. 1) The abortion that Kienna refers to is about the baby she had with 1 member from The Eagles (apparently, she would have called her Sara as her friend, before her decision to abort). 2) The end of the passionate affair between Stevie & Mick (after he met her friend Sara). It seems that both events inspired that song. So this song is also adressed to Mick when she tells "Drowning in the sea of love where everyone would love to drown".

@@chris-sauv Thanks for clarifying that.
@jdsnyc24 күн бұрын
i wrote up the whole history of the song which had about 7,000 views but i am unallowed to list where it is. The song is actually quite intense as i have researched it as i dedicate it to my child & song is an historical account of a period in SN’s life in which a million things went right but mostly wrong-as life is. _In this song “Sara” she is actually talking about 3 males (Mick, Don Henley, & Lindsay) & 3 females (Robin-her BF friend that died, Sara Recor-Fleetwood, & Stevie’s unborn child-she feels is her muse-with Don Henley). Each verse is basically about a different person/force in each period of her life._ Stevie Nicks is a very complex song writer but this song in particular hits so many heart notes for people because it is about so many issues for her, mostly pain-but also hope. We all relate to that & it is painful & beautiful to us in a way we really cannot understand-because Stevie’s songs are so extemporaneous, because she is-we just feel her in it-& relate to its emotions because parts of it has happened to all of us. By far, my favorite song from “Fleetwood Mac”. Enjoy. ☮️&💜-JDS/NYC

Her parents would load-up her Harley Davidson Minibike, & drive to my house. I lived in a very nice Lakeside area. With tons of Open-Space. We would get on our Minibikes early on Saturday morning, & ride them all day long. Home by dark was the ONLY rule! NO HELMETS! NO CELLPHONES, & NO WATER BOTTLES! (The no water is the 1 that I can't comprehend?) I can remember hiding in the bushes to pee. I remember my mom made us sandwiches to take. (We must have had a can of coke?) Anyway, we would sing every song off the RUMORS album while riding. Sometimes WE would get nervous, because of how far we had ridden! 2 hours away from my house. Always off-road, & we only saw guys when we came across some major Dirt-Bike trails. I wouldn't have ever allowed my 12-year-old children to do anything of the sort. FYI, I didn't even tell my kids about this. How many times would 2 CUTE, pre-teenage girls, do this before NEVER returning, nowadays?

Her use of the microphone is an art in itself. The way she tilts her head away and replicates the background vocals (on the recording) during the “undoing the laces” part. She does it again at the end by using Lindsey’s mic to sound like the fade out. Impressive!

There is no grace, no pure writers anymore, the 1970's was tge Golden Age of singers and songwriters....i was 12 when this was on AM stations! I am 59 now, been playing guitar for 47 years and songwriting as well, but what young people want is not what i write, so i record my music anyway...i live in 2024, but my soul lives in the 1970's. Nicole Ipsen it’s about her best friend Sara who Mic Fleetwood had an affair with while Stevie had an affair with Fleetwood. Could be reference to both, but you can tell it’s more of a perspective to an acquaintance of hers rather than her child.
