I was at the 1975 Atlanta concert. I went in prepared to not like Stevie for displacing Christine. She won me over. I loved the work they did together. But yes, Christine is amazing. But she was never a showperson. She just played and sang the songs aMAZEballs. Or as my friend Lily says, aMAZEboobs.

Christine's voice melted me like a dollar store candle one night in 1975 as I read the lyrics and listened to Warm Ways for the first time. Look up the second verse and just try to imagine what that was like for a high school wanna-be musician who had never heard a girl play music the way she played. I was 17, and 47 years later I still swear she nearly killed me with her voice that night.

@@kbtube8125 I so miss her.... and the old band, both pre Buckingham/Nicks and the post 1975 group. First time I ever saw them live was shortly after Lindsey was "canned" Sad, that was. The sound was OK, but not the same. At least, Christine got to spend her last few years back with the band!

God speed, Songbird. Christine didn't receive the recognition that Stevie Nicks did; but she was more important to Fleetwood Mac. Her well crafted songs were delivered in that smoky, bluesy alto with keyboard work which was criminally underrated. She was a woman pioneer of English pop music when it wasn't that easy to be taken as more than eye candy or a novelty. Her voice and Lindsey's mesh so well here and on songs like Don't Stop, Think About Me, and Hold Me.

For me, this performance highlights the importance of John McVie's solid but often underrated contribution to the Fleetwood Mac sound (regardless of lineup). It's always sad to me to watch FM videos and read the cmments or read fan forums and hardly see him mentioned at all. All the other members get their share of praise and love from the fans but John McVie never gets his dues IMO (even Mick's antics and faces while drumming get mentioned more often than John's solid bass work). Maybe it's because bassists as a whole are often underappreciated or maybe it's because John's the average looking bloke jamming away on the bass in the background while Buckingham, Nicks & co. stage presence steals all the limelight. It's just sad to me, because he deserves more praise for his contribution to all the lineups of Fleetwood Mac from the beginning till the end.

Anyone who likes Fleetwood Mac and is a little younger... I encourage you to explore the fact that John McVie played in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton before Fleetwood Mac existed. The hisotry behond this band is absolutely amazing.

This was the tune that helped me make the leap from the Bob Welch era to the Buckingham/Nicks era. Almost didn't buy the record when I saw Bob was gone. Don't know if I would have tried without this song. Glad I did, though.

Thanks. I was going by memory. I agree 100% about Lindsey. Never gets the credit for his talent. Most people focus on Stevie, appeals to us guys and the girls like the sorta goth like thing. I do love her looks! And, she is a huge talent no doubt. But, Lindsey, he's by far my favorite. The guy never seems to want to settle and repeat like the others seem to wanted to do at times. I love the on the edge visionaries like Lindsey. He's grossly underrated for his guitar playing.

An amazing freak coincidence of talent, especially their voices which blend so perfectly ... when you compare this version of Fleetwood Mac with the earlier ones, you can see they where fast on their way to obscurity, and then along came Stevie and Lindsey, and the whole thing just made sense: it was lightening in a bottle.
