You're human. I stumble on the radios from time to time. It feels like a stage fright thing for me like its open mic night. Great video! Love that PC-12.

I don’t have the stage fright feeling any more, but I remember that feeling very well! For me, I think I was close to 1,000hrs before that completely went away. Now I just have days where my mouth forgets how to form words. 😂

Bravo, Grant! I would personally rank this video as your best work, so far. Loved the camera work - inside and outside. Loved the Avionics camera angle. Loved how you talked through your flight planning and comms, notwithstanding the stumbling with ATC (lol). Great job and thanks for sharing. Quick question...min 2:33 - the frame shows three balls (two blue and one white) resting on the dash, just under the grab handle. Can you please explain what those are and what their function is? Thanks and look forward to other videos.
@GrantBaker3 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir, I appreciate the feedback! Those little balls are supposed to be for helping to set your seat position so you get the same sight picture out front every time. I don’t use it since I’m the only one flying the plane, but operators with a lot of different sized pilots might find it useful.

@@GrantBaker One last follow up question: min 3:00 - on the PFD was the message 'LX Fail' (information at you 7:00 o'clock on the PFD). This was during startup. Kindly explain what that is?. Is it weather related (I see strike rate).
@GrantBaker3 жыл бұрын
@@benakay yep that’s the lightning strike detection. It’s always failed on startup and the system brings it online automatically.

LOVE KEY WEST... Grant great flight and video footage. We are ALL slaves to battery lvl & data storage, lol. Your video quality is 👍👍👍. Would be nice to see complete landing and being marshalled to parking and total nautical miles and total lbs fuel used, thank you. Fantastic predeparture tutorial. I am so pleased with your channel, professionalism as a pilot and effort put into these videos.

The added miles for spacing messed with the cameras didn't it? Another great video and greaser of a landing Grant. What is the cabin noise level? I Have never gotten to ride in a PC 12. Thanks and stay safe.
@GrantBaker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Larry! Yeah that delay was just a bit too much. It’s a pretty quiet cabin. Passengers have to talk a bit loud to have a conversation, but it’s not too bad.

On the Inertial Separator does Open mean Bypass?

Yep, it’s a door that opens to allow debris like ice, birds, etc to go out the back instead of making the turn into the engine.

Question: I don't know if it is KZbin, Aircraft Audio, Pilot, ATC or my computer (which I admit is O L D), but, it is not just this channel...but is seems to me as I am listing, all 3s sound like trees. What's up with that? Just asking because I do not know. May be my brain lol
@GrantBaker Жыл бұрын
Haha good catch! Technically we are supposed to say tree for three, fife for five, and niner for nine. In practice, most pilots and ATC do say niner, some say tree, and very few say fife. So what you’re hearing could very well be trees. 😁
@mj010119803 жыл бұрын
great video and such a nice plane; it could be good to have a view a bit zoomed on the screen so that we could see the view outside and the screens ( just a suggestion)
@GrantBaker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Anthony! Being able to see both is more an issue of the brightness difference between the cockpit and outside. I may revisit it though and see if there’s some tweaking I could do to make it so we can see both well enough. I would also love to be able to see both outside and inside from that shot!

Stick pusher test. It’s a test of the pusher/shaker system that helps prevent aerodynamic stalls.

i noticed that by 12.46 climing over 10,000 you hadn't check your auto pressures settings to see if it was correctly pressurizing. im not in the game any more and only a hobbest who had to retire due to medical just at 50 hours, but have been reading a lot about pressure incidents recently, where users are over reliant on auto setting, nothing is inflatable
