My best friend who was my brother in arms in Iraq loved this song and we used to sing it in the barracks while playing out guitars. Unfortunately a road side bomb took him from this world and I played and sang this for him at his funeral before the 21 gun salute put him in the ground with our other brothers and sisters in arms. I still play this song and listen to this song remembering him and his sacrifice for our country. Rest in peace brother and your memory lives on through your young son who just started playing the guitar and learning this song from your brother.

I stayed in Wicklow many years ago on holiday and I can honestly say that Ireland is as near to perfection in a place as I have ever experienced, sort of like fresh springtime dew early in the morning with a hot cup of coffee and that not-too-hot, not-too-cold temperature that comes with the onset of warm-cool weather. Add in the sound of birds singing and the rising of the sun and it's almost Heaven.

On February 17,2014 we lost our 'extra son'. From the moment he and our son met, they were instant best friends. Those who knew them said that they were brothers at heart. We always said, "God separated them, because He knew one family couldn't raise both of them in one house!" When they met in 2005, we had no clue how our families would grow together. 2009, we took Schyler with us on a trip to my family's hometown.2009, we learned that Schyler had leukemia. He fought a true battle, and in January of 2013, he was declared in remission. Just weeks later, brought the news that it was back, and the news wasn't good. Schyler left us on February 17,2014. One of the gifts he and our son gave us, was a love for all things Flogging Molly. I grew to truly love the band!! Being Irish, it struck a chord with me, the likes of which I've never again experienced. I had the blessing of helping with Schy's funeral. I was not expecting what I heard, because of his Mom's comments. When I heard your song, I truly wept. To this day, that song is one of the most powerful and inspirational songs of my life. I will never forget the two of them singing your songs in perfect synchronicity. It was always a mesmerizing thing. I just want to thank you for following your gift, and blessing all of us with your talent.

I’m a hospice nurse and this song has absolutely wrecked me in the most perfect way- I’m tasting despair as the intense seasoning it is... This ain’t dorm room cooking, and despair is one of a master chefs most advanced spices, AND we are ALL of us master chefs...Fucking anthem, this tune...Fucking anthem ❤️

I’ve listened to this song several times and this is the first time I’ve got through it without crying. For my dad, for my mother-in-law, but mostly for my cousin who we just lost to the pandemic. The closest thing I had to a sister has now become my guardian angel. I can’t stop hearing her laugh. Funny how the right song finds you at the right time, and this one was the right song.

When a farmer puts his sheep out to breed, he puts a paint mark on the male sheep's chest. The mark will rub off on the female sheep's back, letting the farmer know she's been bred. In other words, the sheep at :32 just got it on.

It has always been one of my ultimate favorite songs. Used to play it everyday in the morning when I woke up. And I shared it with my family- siblings and mom because ultimately you want to make sure you tell someone you thanked them for the good times and the sad times and the smiles and the memories.

I remember listening to this song when my grandpa died during his open casket funeral. And he would always sing this this song to be when I was younger. I used to shrug it off not knowing the lyrics, but now when I listen back to it- I cry a lot. But i know he’s in a better place.

First time I heard this song was yesterday, it just kinda started as I was driving. It was the 6th year anniversary of losing my uncle who was all I had as a father figure. Amazing song and I can't be more thankful for the feeling it gave me yesterday. It almost felt like he was sending me a message

I too lost someone, my little brother. He was 29 years old and we were ten months apart. He loved the color green. The dark green, not neon or bright green, well not all bright greens. St Patrick’s day is tomorrow. We were the only 2 of us. It’s just me. I miss you so much David. You were here exactly 1 year ago, I did it dude I bought the first Hart Brother house. You’d like it. Folks I cry everyday for my brother and it sucks. I wanna just be able to deal with the pain. Crying doesn’t bring him back and it makes me feel powerless. Like I didn’t take care of him.... I love you Too Tall! I hope your energy explores this planet the way you did.

I'm sick a lot. And have always known I'll die before everyone I love. When I'm sick bad and am depressed feeling close to death. This song helps me to think, it'll be okay and I can come back down and sit at the feet of my true love when I go. I may cry the whole song but it helps. Makes me cherish the people who love me. And truly thank them for the things they did in my life. However long or short it turns out to be.

I remember seeing them for the first time in 2003. It was my brothers 14th birthday and a guy we grew up with was killed that morning, he was supposed to go to the show with us. Not sure who said something to the band, but they played this song for him that night. It was a hell of a thing and made a whole bunch of small town kids feel special while we remembered our friend. 16 years later and this song still brings back memories.
