Flying 400 MILES To Repair A £60 Switch - Can I Fix It?

Today, I try to fix a faulty Nintendo Switch which I bought for £60 locally. It had a rather rare error code on start up. I couldn't figure it out so I called my mate Shawn ( / sjm4306 ) and he pointed out what the fault could be. Another phone call later and Im on my way to MyMateVince's house to tackle the challenge together.

Still amazing to me that you got a fully functioning switch for £60- £73 (including the cost of the chip). Normally the tablet **alone** (working) would go upwards of £100. Great job guys! Gotta love that non-compliant USB Power Delivery implementation! I got lucky, by the time I'd heard that the early revision Switches would be bricked by compliant power supplies, I'd already tried and been successfully using my generic USB C supply. Dodged a bullet, there.

Being from the US, it really blows my mind how much smaller the UK is than the US. If I traveled 400 miles, I'd still be in Michigan. I can't imagine taking an airplane to the other side of the same state.

I really enjoyed this this video! you have inspired me to setup a repair workshop for myself as i really love to fix retro handhelds and other consoles and gadgets. Im going to repair and refurb a nintendo ds lite and use a clear replacement shell for it and im also going to repair and refurb a Gameboy advance SP using a clear replacement shell just like the one in your recent video :)

There IS a long and involved process of restoring the nand without a backup so long as you can read the prodinfo off the nand. Wich should always be readable
