EXCELLENT!!! I luv how you create TWO blocks at the same time, thus making cornerstones (HST's - to become 9-patch) ready for borders. This is SEW economical...and PURE GENIUS! THANK YOU, DONNA + MATT!!!!!!

The quilt is stunning and I love the idea of the flying geese only going partially down the borders with the half square triangle cornerstones. Simply beautiful, Jess

Donna that turned out beautiful. Will put this in my quilts to do. Ordered my finishing fabrics for my Christmas quilt the other day, they came so fast. Thank you. It's the Robert Kaufman metalic log cabin pattern. It is turning out beautiful. Your husband has such a talent for picking out the fabrics for kits.

At 0:55 and then that music with the close up camera work of those steps was SO cool! It struck me as a professionally done commercial for Jordan Fabrics. I loved watching how the music and camera shots' timing hit the mark of how they focused on the various steps: Donna entering the retail store to pick out the fabric, slicing open the kit of strips, pressing the On button, Donna putting on her glasses on (my favorite), placing one square patch on another, sewing that first seam, her fingers pressing each completed seam of the log cabin block. With a few more bars of music or a voice transition and your company name, well . . . it's just velvet! I like how clearly you showed the lines of where to stitch for the flying geese and half square triangle and then where to cut and them. Other great visuals included those stitching lines at 6:48, how the two square patches overlap at 8:04, which side of fabric to sew two flying geese together with a ¼ inch seam at 8:50, and distinguishing where to hit the intersection in order to get the points done right - beautifully done with your finger pointing right at 8:58. Yes, I already knew, but smiled for how much this kind of quality production makes it a light bulb moment for new quilters. It's just my opinion of course, but I think your cameraman and video editor deserve their name(s) in the credits. The best new tip for me was how you showed how easy it was to put in a section of flying geese to any size border. And that cornerstone block - nice! This is a beautiful classic quilt with some special touches. I simply love it. I'll bet it was fun for you, Matt, the cameraman and whatever other staff were involved in planning and producing this particular video; I think it's one of your best. Yes, we all had fun watching the ending too :-) Thanks!

Loved the quilt design, fabric colors, and incorporating the flying geese and corner stones is a nice framing touch! I picked up a second hand pkg of partially assembled pieces for a civil war small quilt and was stuck on how to complete it with missing fabric. This is so exciting to explore a new design and borders that will help tie it all together! Thank you for another great tutorial.

Loved this quilt. I especially liked the border. I never thought of using the cut offs from the flying geese for cornerstones. And using spacing pieces was great too because I always had trouble trying to figure out how to make my pieced borders to fit both length and width. Just love your tutorials. I've learned so much. Thank you so much.

How big are the squares for the cornerstones? Would each square be squared to 2 1/2"? 1 1/2"? Love the quilt and border. Have been quilting for about 18 months and love your tutorials. I learn something new and valuable with each one. Thanks for helping me become a better quilter.

Each square should measure 2 inches. The 3x3 block will measure 5 inches (the same size and the Flying Geese rectangles).
