Worked like a charm, great video. Thanks, Mark Penticton BC

For the diode, 3A 100V or 50V?
@AnthonyJ35010 ай бұрын
It would be a 12 volt application.

That's probably too small to handle the current.

Sure if you have one that big.

I had a question about die electric grease, I thought it would get in the way of current if it's in between the contact points? Thanks
@stealthg35infiniti944 жыл бұрын
Use dielectric grease in all Automotive connections if possible to minimize corrosion...The oring seals over time fail to keep out moisture/humidity thus corrosion sets in to the contact pins... The dielectric grease encapsulates the connection preventing air to corrode the connection.
@AnthonyJ3504 жыл бұрын
It's kind of an old wives tail that it makes the connection worse. If you use actual dielectric grease the one property people forget about is its ability to displace. So the contacts still make a good connection but it acts like a protective membrane around it.

I agree, the Fog lights help with peripheral lighting when using high beams ...Since my low beams stay on when the high beams are on, I connected the relay to the aftermarket fog lights to the low beams...So now ,Fog lights are ON when Low or High beams are in use..

So on my 2018 Silverado the "brown with white tracer" is all brown. There is a brown with white wire but it is not where they said to tap in... With that said, I followed the instructions and paid less attention to the wire color and more of what slot the wires were in. Kit worked great, looking forward to using it on the wide open county roads.

very clean install. Looking to do this once my warranty runs out.
@AnthonyJ3504 жыл бұрын
Do it now! If you wire it like this they'll have no idea. My friends trucks had remote starters installed and their scan tool can't detect it.
@columbotee2652 Жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyJ350 You can also do this by pushing the diode wires directly in where the electrical wires go into pin connector no additional wires need to be involved.
@AnthonyJ350 Жыл бұрын
@@columbotee2652 But this way looks cleaner with it being hidden and integrated. Just shoving a diode in doesn't look good to me.

It's going to be slightly different I believe.

Thats great ! One more idea. In thick fog on an older vehicle I had installed aftermarket fogs on, on occasion I'd use them alone with parking lights so the regular low or high beams not on and it worked well at times. I'd like to know how to get factory fogs to come on alone for those occasions. Nissan Pathfinder, 2011. An idea for a video :- )
@AnthonyJ3504 жыл бұрын
Most factory vehicle you should be able to just turn on the parking lights then just turn on the factory fogs with them using the switch.
@Leatherkid013 жыл бұрын
On newer GMs ... just press the fog light button and the parking lights will come on as well ....(starting from 2003 models so far i know) 😉 On older models ....what Anthony said. On older fords, u need to jump the switch (a few vids on those on YT)

B.S. you can find the wires and install it that nice in 1 minute. Never understood why people take the time to complain like this. You're lucky people like us take time to give you free information that you don't know how to figure out on your own.

I hope that everyone recognized that while seeing clearly at night, it's also important not to impede the vision of oncoming traffic with high intensity lights AND in most states, it is illegal to not observe this safety concern
@AnthonyJ3502 жыл бұрын
That's correct, you should not have your high beams on when traffic is approaching.
