I just installed a ladder according to your instructions and it turned out great. Thanks for sharing as it made the job very easy with no wasted materials or time figuring out the design. 👌

Hey that's awesome! I'm glad it worked out for you. We've used it a bunch now and it's worked out really well.

Very nice, I have that exact boat. I think I might try the same.

What is that black plate that is used between transom mounting bolts? You mentioned it was easy to climb aboard while in water (lowest step deep enough)....are you able to reach and flip the ladder into the deployed position from the water?

No problem at all deploying the ladder from the water, with the handling sticking out from the transom its an easy grip to pull up enough to pull the ladder over. The transom isn't as high above the waterline as you might think when you're in the water itself. We did a lot of tubing/swimming so we were up and down this ladder constantly. I'm over 6ft tall and had no issues with its depth. The back plate was probably overkill, it was just 1/8 aluminum that I had scrap from another project that I painted black.

Pretty cool and good idea! With just that grab handle how hard would it be to get back into the boat?
@mvboutdoors4 ай бұрын
Pretty difficult, that grab handle is a far above the waterline, I dont see how you would have the leverage to get back in. The "official" way you're supposed to reboard if you fall out is to stand on the motor and use the trim mechanism.

Great idea for the Pro Guide V16!! Now, have you been in the water and attempted to board using the ladder? IMO you really need at least 3 steps fully in water to be able to get your foot on the lowest step. At 62, 6', and 265#, I need the deepest ladder I can get! I am going with your install method, as it appears solid and no holes drilled into boat. However, I am considering a 5 or 6 step ladder. The issues with these longer ones is the width (13"+) and the gudgeons are short (5"). How long are your gudgeons and how far from hull is ladder when deployed?

Oh yeah, it was more than deep enough. I'm over 6ft and I was able to very easily use the ladder.

What is the total length of your ladder gudgeons (brackets that bolted down with lag bolts)? They look really long in the video. I'm copying you idea with some modifications. I cut the 4x4 at an angle to transom. Using a 5 step ladder. Going to reuse my black plastic boarding grab handle. Trying to match carpet but very hard to find a med gray color. My decks have the vinyl floor option but sides are med gray carpet.

I'd have to measure, I'm not sure off hand. I'll check and let you know.

Did you purchase the Tracker Bimini or sis you opt for an off brand system? Would you mind doing a video showing your setup?

I went with an offbrand Bimini, I just finished building out the mounts for it, once I get it mounted I have a video planned for the whole system.
