Irit, you are absolutely incredible!!! I have always been drawn to the colours you use, and tend to focus on them myself, they are just gorgeous!!! I think you have a wonderful way of encouraging everyone to create from the heart, you reassure people that it justifies the time even when results are abstract or less than ideal! This is a great gift!!! You are the BEST IRIT!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Yarn magic. Color magic. So soft and beautiful. Like you, Irit. 💕 Thanks for for getting me painting today! Yeah! 💕 I’m playing with a muted, soft pink with iridescent bronze ( Golden, fluid) + fluorescent magenta and a little ultramarine light, touch of fluorescent chartreuse, soft light yellow. Grabbed a pen and made it into a flower! No thinking. Bada bing! 💕 Follow the color 🌈 Really love the Venetian pink- like color with the bronze. Lovely accident. Painting with you, Irit💕 Thank you 🙏 Namaste 🙏

You are so welcome! Those sticks are fun! If you do decide at some point to sign up for her class make sure you hunt a discount, she always offers 20% somewhere, it'll save you about 20$ so look out for that ❤️ in the meantime enjoy the rainbow course!

Loving this video so much. Huzzah yarn content!!!! 😍What's your favorite yarn weight/needle/hook size? Any fibers you love/hate? I like how you mentioned how you might not wear something so colorful, even if you love looking at it. Over the past few years I'm coming back to painting after a long hiatus where I was *only* dyeing yarn, and even though there's a massive overlap, some of the colors I love in yarn are not necessarily the same ones I want in a painting, right? And vice versa. Once again, context is e v e r y t h i n g. 🤣By the way, I'm getting so much out of your class right now, even though I'm going really slowly.
@iritlandgraf7 ай бұрын
Yay!! Glad to hear you're enjoying the class! Oh to dye yarn... I think at the end of the day I just want to be immersed in colors I love, look at them, play... Yarn is just another manifestation of that desire I think. As for which yarn... Soft, airy, colorful! I love hand dyed yarns with speckles right now, it just makes me soooo happy! love the 5-6mm hooks for crochet and for knitting I'm still not settled on absolute faves... It's all a journey!

You sure are consistent with your color preferences. I was thinking - imagine if one day you changed and started preferring colors completely opposite????
@iritlandgraf7 ай бұрын
I can tell you with confidence it will change. BUT my bedroom for example is the most boring no color room, and then our living room has soft colors, so I get my different color fixes in different areas of the house. I don't know if I'd want the whole house to be as colorful as my studio... I guess I mostly feel my roommates aka partner and kids might object 😄

Irit, I know how much you love matte acrylic so you can draw on top of it. I started mixing colors with white gesso instead of white acrylic and found out that it turns the mixes into matte colors! I thought I’d share 😀 Btw, a granny square blanket would be sooo good! Love your color choices

Beautiful, the Stricken & Häkeln pieces. Lovely that a friend can help you with translation. I used to knit & crochet between German & American magazines. The way you talk it out, what to do with happy granny squares & things you are not into is so relatable 💕Amsterdam paints, I’ve been looking at them, Holbein Gouache & Lukas for peach type tones. Rice paper I also have a pad-It’s coming out💡🐾🐾🌞Thank Irit🦢🩷

Love all the pink. And thanks for giving yourself (and us) permission to play with pink. I too love pink but often think I have to be more sophisticated or subtle and so don't allow myself to indulge in pink! I have some Amsterdam acrylics (mostly standard and one expert). What is the difference (in your experience and opinion) between the expert and the standard? Do you think it's worth the extra money to get the expert series?
@iritlandgraf7 ай бұрын
Yes!! Let us play with pink!! With the expert series, I'm guessing the pigment load is higher, but with some colors, especially the light ones, there's no reason to buy expensive paint IMO. But with certain pigments and transparent colors there can be a difference and if one wants full intensity, usually that's only found in artist grade. That's my thinking in any case. Thanks for commenting!

Have you ever used a Jelli plate? I’m going to my studio right now to create a background using those gorgeous pinks. They make great base layers to paint on. I will join your class today or tomorrow. I am excited!
@iritlandgraf7 ай бұрын
Yes I have! It's super fun. My one issue is that I never know what to do with all those great backgrounds... I really tend to lose interest fast so prefer to finish a project asap before it bores me :) But I know lots of people love to create tons of backgrounds with their gelli plates :)
