Food Bank/ Pantry Haul: 12/01/23

Welcome!
We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.

Please apply for wic and food stamps ! It can be a huge help if you qualify and the limits for wic are pretty high. They give milk, eggs , fruit and veggies

I think the green banana flour could be used as a breading or anything you use flour in its like a plantain I would imagine.

I made a cake with the banana flour before but I don't recall where I found the recipe. I think Trim Healthy Mama has a recipe or two that uses it, low carb!

That pineapple can be frozen and put in smoothies

That brand of red lentil pasta is gluten free and may be low in carbs, you need to check the box

If I remember correctly in the past she has sad they give it to neighbors and people they know will eat it.

As a large(ish) family we generally don't have much problem getting everything used. But if there is something we can't use, then we pass it on to another family.
