Food That Fools: Devilled Eggs

Egg white:
1 cup milk (divided into two 1/2 cups)
1/2 oz (2 packets) unflavoured gelatin
1- 14oz can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)
Sprinkle the gelatin on top of 1/2 cup of milk in a small bowl. Allow to sit for 5-6 minutes, the gelatin will absorb most of the milk.
Put 1/2 cup milk and the can of sweetened condensed milk in a medium saucepan and heat over medium heat until hot. Add the gelatin mixture and stir continuously over medium heat until the mixture is very hot (not boiling) and the gelatin has dissolved. Stir gently, you want to avoid making too many bubbles.
Strain the mixture to get rid of undissolved gelatin bits.
Pour into lightly greased silicone egg molds and refrigerate until set.
Filling:
4 oz cream cheese (room temp.)
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups powdered sugar
Orange and yellow food colour
- Beat the cream cheese and butter together until creamy, beat in vanilla powdered sugar. Add a couple of drops of orange and yellow food colour. Adjust colour by adding more yellow if required.
Pop the egg shapes out of the molds and scoop out a small hole. Fill with the frosting and sprinkle on some orange sugar or some orange powdered food colour.
Keep covered in the refrigerator.

As someone who makes deviled eggs for most holidays - I would love to do this one year. Maybe I can figure out a way to make my pumpkin pie cheese cake dip look a little more yellow than orange and use that as the filling [just to give it something different]

YoYoBabe ~ So Cute! Thank you. So..... why waste the center by hollowing it out? You can pipe your 'frosting' on top and mound it up some...... Also, (my own 2 cents here) but whenever I add powdered sugar to a bowl with ingredients already mixed in the bowl, instead of turning the besters on right away and have the powder dust go all over the place, I put the beaters in and work in the powdered sugar with the other ingredients without turning on the mixer yet. Incorporate everything before turning on the beaters...... I don't want the powdery mess. (a little obsessive? Probably!) Anyway, always nice to see your cool and unique videos, you seem like lots of fun! ❤

If you don't hollow it out a bit the frosting will slide right off the egg as soon as you chill it and move it around. Thanks for the 2 cents! lol. I'm just impatient and want to do things fast :)
