My favorite part of this video is actually seeing the man himself work and getting his hands dirty I think anyone can appreciate that

I agree. Unlike that walking douche Richard Rollings, Foose can run the business and build the cars. Rollings made his fame and fortune off of someone else's hard work.

@@musclecarpat68 lets not forget the ultimate walking douche ,Dave kndig...he loves to hear himself talk about how awesome he is and self taught.. he is playing with crayons compared to chip, who to is self taught, but dose not feel the need to talk about it..he is so fricken lucky to have deep pocket customers who he can baffle with his bull shit about how great a designer he is...he is almost as narcissistic as trump
@corail53
@corail53 4 жыл бұрын
@@musclecarpat68 Rollings wanted to be famous (says so himself) and found a team who also wanted that sort of glory. He was the money guy and once he had a team he pitched the show to producers. He has stated numerous times that he knows little about cars. The only reason anyone even knows rollings or aaron for that matter is because of the show. It was a cheesy tv production that was started to make people famous and not actually about the cars. Same thing as all the old discovery channel drama build shows. FOOSE on the other hand was designing and building award winning cars long before his TV debuts. Sam Foose was legendary in the car world and he certainly helped shape Chip into the builder he became.

@@corail53 Yes , and Sam never got the respect he deserved. And another car builder who don't is Bill Hines. The only tv man that works and designs today is Bill of Texas Metal.

Let's not forget Chip takes inspiration from some very influential masters. Gene Winfield, for the "Fade" & George Barris the master of "Frenching" I suppose I should mention Boyd. But it goes beyond that also. He picks his team members well! He has an eye for detail and his "looks like factory" ideas should of came from the factory. Subtly is his Ace in the hole! Speaking of Aces, huge shout out to Mike Lavalle( may he rest in peace) ♠💀Killer Paint💀♠

One of the great things about this channel is that it doesn't have two guys talking about nothing for 90% of it and then shill a bunch of products while they do it. Another great thing I like about it is that it doesn't do the "HGTV style narration" thing where the narrator says something like "Back at the shop, things are going great for Chip. But then... Johnny ordered the wrong part and they only have eighteen hours until auction...". Another thing I also like about the channel is that there's no manufactured drama either. Because of this, you guys get an additional subscriber.

I think people are commenting on the wheels because they'd rather see a Rally Style wheel done retro. This car was built for someone with certain ideas in mind. By the owner's reaction, he focused on the wheels because that's probably one area he had major influences. As a builder you don't build what you want but what the customer wants. In the end, that's a $200k+ build all day long. Well done Chip, well done.

My uncle had a 427 Camaro SS with the speed lines (is that what they call the crease coming off the top of the wheel arches/fenders?) in the mid 1980s - IN THE UK. Over here it was even more epic than it would have been in the US. Nobody had anything like it. But this one that Chip has overhauled is utterly beautiful. I've always thought the 1969 Camaro is one of the most perfect-shape cars ever made and now in that blue with the red and white accents, it's beyond perfect. They've been steadily climbing in value the past 20 years. I keep looking at the US eBay site and thinking I should import one but I think I've missed my chance now.

I love that rear bumper! Reminds me of the 1969 Mustang rear bumper. I bought a '69 Z-28 in March 1969 3 months after I was released from active duty in the U.S. Navy Reserves. At that time I preferred the 1967 and 1968 Camaro model bumpers which had 'matching' bumpers front and rear, which wrapped over the sides / around the fenders. I even considered purchasing a '67 or '68 used, but the last thing my parents wanted around was a "used car" that I would be working on all the time as happened with the 1951 Olds 88, the 1955 Ford Fairlane and the 1957 Chevy 2-dr 210 I had owned before enlisting. Little did they conceive of the idea that I would "work on" a new car MORE than I had with the other 3. They just couldn't understand that their son was a "gear head" whom would "hot rod" whatever ride he owned! In 1969 the front bumper was changed to up-swept ends to blend into the grille opening which I thought was an improvement at the front; the rear bumper design 'bugged me' though. Overall that up-swept design at the front was incongruous with the rear bumper which was used all 3 years of that 1st generation. IMO, Chip corrected that incongruity, something that I don't recall ever seeing before; and I have seen many rear bumper mods on 1969's over the years. Usually the rear bumper is narrowed and recessed into the rear quarter panels, and painted body color front and rear similar to the late 1969 optional "rubber" covered front bumper which only became available after the model would have become a 1970 model and was produced until the end of the calendar year. Officially there was no 1970 model due to Chevrolet rushing the 2nd gen Camaro into production as a 1970 1/2 model due to the Mach I "killing" the Camaro in sales. That incongruity in design was done by other auto manufacturers in that era, too. The 1st and 2nd gen Mustangs had roughly the opposite "mistake" in design until 1971. The Mustang's had a rear bumper that was up-swept and the front wrapped rearward over the front fenders like the 1969 and 1968 Camaro, which I think GM copied from Ford.

I saw this car close up just a little while back. It belongs to my boss. He just returned from California picking it up. The car is awesome.
