Hi anis I'm a 67 year old pompey fan , been to ninian park , was there first game of the season when we took a big crew ,got in early in ya end , but that's old history , Cardiff is a very similar club to pompey , millwall ,proper working class , big respect to you as a Welshman , supporting Wales and England , and ya support for the british armed forces , I think it was fantastic to hear the Welsh stick with the English against the Russians at the world cup.

@robertmclean3612 hahaha doesn't the point of asking the question show that I haven't seen every podcast he's done, just a recent one where he alluded to the Boro firm but was more about the fact he'd already mentioned them which led me to believe it was on that video but after watching it all I thought it was probably cut-out/edited out, is that okay with you, apologies for being a working man if I was on universal credit like you then I would also have the time to watch KZbin all day, thankfully work & family take up my time, UTB

I remember back in the mid 90's going to watch Cardiff v Millwall at Ninian Park. I was probably 12 or 13 at the time and went with my uncle and his daughter. After the game we were walking back to the car with hundreds of other "normal" City fans, i.e. older guys, families, women etc etc. We were accosted by a fair few of what I presume were the Millwall firm and they started lobbing things at us. Bottles, bricks, stones, you get the picture. My uncle managed to get us in behind someone's front boundary wall and we cowered down behind for what seemed like forever. I just remember people shouting and women and kids screaming. Thank goodness some Cardiff fans came running from behind us and piled into the Millwall fans, which was our cue to get out of there. I'm not sure but apparently it was Annis and co so i later heard. If it was, I'd like to thank him for getting us out of it that night. It took me another 5 or 6 years to pluck up the courage to go to another City game, it was truly terrifying that evening. Sounds melodramatic but I honestly thought I was done for. My cousin never did go back.

Way better than United, Leeds? at home massively dangerous as they hate us, but except for 81 when they got off at Stalyvegas and came in on a local train, and had a few moments, before we ambushed them at White City near OT. in about 95 they came down in the Cup, big lumps, but they got done in town after the match, but we had the numbers probably 3-1 so no great shakes. We went there 150 handed when they got promoted (1990) all in cars and took it to them, season after 91-92 we played them away 3 times around Xmas New year in 11 days, we had lads with broken noses from the last tear up going into them. And proper Leeds will always admit we turned up at ER far more than they ever did at OT, thats just facts. Re the incident that Anis refers to Leeds went to Wetherspoons in Chorlton, when they were told to come to Salford. I like Anis but can only think he got 2nd prize against us to be so anti MUFC. face it, you are the MUFC of Wales firm wise, little firms coming from all over. Maybe thats what gets under his skin🤮

Yes in 1990 Leeds called it on at one of there pubs called the Wheatsheaf. We got there about a hour after the match, not a copper in sight. Leeds got done proper. We then made our way to Hartshead Moor Services on the M62 and had a big piss up

Enjoy listening to the shows, but your bitterness (obvious hatred) towards Swansea really does let you down. To say you don't care or the jacks were never in your thoughts is utter bollocks otherwise why did you even bother coming down (in your own words) 80 for our game with Newport, the 20 odd you came down with for Panathaniokos game etc, even welsh cup finals where only one of us has been involved we've turned up, so it doesn't sound like we were never in your thoughts does it really? As for the south Wales derby, it's never been the same since 93 (30 fucking years ago) away fan ban and the bubble but rest assured before that time it was a nasty little derby (up there with the best of them) full of hatred and violence and this was when crowds were relatively small. I've talked to many fellow jacks and quite a few Cardiff over the years and the verdict is always unanimous, it was a decent derby. We all know the game (and the south Wales derby) is over these days, no more points to be scored. So let your guard down and just tell it as it was. If you t think it was only Cardiff and Newport that had rows outside of football then think again, we've had it with Cardiff at gigs, races festivals and cricket to name but a few all over the country (just because you might not have seen it doesn't mean it never happened) Anyway keep up the good work @thecentralclub

@Scott-n3u - Let’s have it Sunderland came up to Edinburgh mob handed, made no contact so nobody was expecting you, but FairPlay for the numbers you brought. Hibs had 15 out, you lost respect when 5 of you jumped one lad coming out of Burger King, your 70/80 on the steps of the International bar struggled with our 15, but your sheer numbers got the better of it. But you then played Hearts and this time we were all out and you didn’t fancy it then. You came up again and got badly turned over 1-1 👍

@@Oldpennyblack83 Capital city of scotland and you could only turn out 15 on a match day??? Sunderland were always going to turn up and did. Another time Sunderland took it to Rangers too, i think i've seen Sandy Chugg say it was one of the best firms ever to turn out in Glasgow.

@andrewsmith3217 - Did I not say FairPlay for bringing up those numbers. Most of the lads were away for the weekend, there was a wedding also, we went to Preston the weekend before mob handed, older Preston lad walked into our pub saying they could entertain us, fine, 6 of us left at HT went on a bit of a suicide mission by going to their pub, but nobody was there, it happens. You lost respect by cowardly attacking one lad when there was five of you, you struggled at first against our 15 until more of your lot come out of the Guildford pub opposite. You bottled to meet us when everyone was out for your midweek game against Hearts, numbers were exchanged on the day you played us, so you have no excuses about not showing and if you don’t know or don’t agree you are full of nonsense and not in the know. When we did play you again, you got badly done, as I said 1-1. I couldn’t care less what he said, Rangers were never in our league off the pitch when it mattered, Celtic come to us more. Been to Sunderland loads of times with United when I moved to Manchester over 19 years ago, never impressed me once to be honest, Boro we’re the main firm in the North East.

@@Oldpennyblack83 Sunderland were there all day and went all over capital city. They took the piss and struggled with no one. Sunderland went up there and were always going up there. Hibs couldn't touch Sunderland that day and turning out "15" lads in a major city on match day is poor, regardless of weddings/birthdays/exam results/holidays/etc etc. Sunderland even did newcastle on the way home which is very well documented. The prison sentences dished out and police awareness would make it a much more difficult task to get over the border again easily. Sunderland took the piss that day and everyone knows it. They probably thought it wasn't even worth a return visit after the first one. Most lads said they were disappointed and only battering the mags at central station made the trip worthwhile. As for boro, their main hooligan book has Sunderland at Number 2 in their all-time Top Ten. In the 90's boro had a very good firm and probably the best 200 lads from the north east in that era, but Sunderland always had numbers on them. Sunderland did boro properly in the mid/late 70's and especially 1981(inside and outside the ground). Boro had a top firm but they know all about Sunderland too.
