As long as all the players in your formation have a green colour on them (if not toggle the positions bit) you'll dominate on this game, you'll notice they change from red to yellow to green, any formation with an all green team and you'll win leagues and cups

I used a very similar tactic with Sport Recife on their first season on FM 16 and it worked well. For a while. It really relies on having the right sort of players for each role. If you do, then it really is invincible. If you don't, well... My experience was that even if I had better players on my second season, I had to change the tactic completely because they were not necessarily the right players for this tactic. The differences were that I used a mirror version of it: the winger on the right, the roaming playmaker at MCL, the AP/AM at the AMCR position, and the IF at AML. The striker was either a F9 or a trequartista depending on the player. My right winger (Reinaldo Lenis) was the best player in the league, top assistant and scored a few goals as well. That worked so well that Lenis' records were standing for a few seasons.

Men City does not play attacking/fluid, but defensive/very fluid...with high def line-up, use offside trap, close down more, retain possession, play wide, work-ball-into box, normal tempo, and mix passing. Also need to give some specific instructions to some of your players (e.g., inside forwards: sit narrow), and Complete forward/support duty (shoot less often, move into channels) Also use complete wing backs.

This tactic is not really new; it was a built-in tactic in older versions of FM under the name "4-2-3-1 asymmetric" and I had much success with it with teams like Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon. In FM18 though I managed to lead the EGYPTIAN national team to the World Cup final TWICE. The secret behind this is something you don't do, which is utilizing the IWB role on the side of the winger and giving the AMC an attack duty (the IWB then fills in the space left). I was using a mirrored version of the formation (with MCL, MR, AMCR, AML) and Salah as the AMCR with role AM-A (tried SS but didn't work). Good job anyway :)

Not gonna lie, Golden, I'm taking the base layout of this and tweaking it personally to see how it works at everton. So far, mirrored, and the RPM and Trequar roles get swapped to fit player personnel, but overall it's undefeated. Solid tactical creation!

This tactic is good, only if you are managing a team that is in the top 3 in every competition. If you want to have results with small team you need to have more DM/CM on the field, and the formation must play as narrow as possible...

testing this With AC Milan - going great so far, 10 wins, 2 draws and no losses. Using Suso as a right IF and hes a beast: 9 games With 11 goals. Kalinic as the Trenq (role ability is crap) but scores loads.Slimmed the Squad Down, so interesting to see the effect when injuries and rotatin becomes an issue. But so far, all good With this tactic.

Aguero not injured in an entire season...Riiight. Also IRL they would be extremely vulnerable to teams that know how to defend and play direct. City have a scary offense, but defense is still very lacking.

I don't know how. I play offensive as well. It's just not football what I play. They just hammer it deep right into a 5 back defence every single time, and Aguero goes 1v5, until he's close to being tackled and just shoots from 30m 9/10 times. And my defence can't cover anything. What am I doing wrong?
