As cheesy as it seems today, I really miss these kinds of videos - laying out the content and context in a fun and imaginative way. I would LOVE to get my hands on a gigantic Book of Mormon and oversized set of plates. I'm not sure where I'd store them... Thanks so much for posting this old gem.

8:20 To clarify, Mormon actually abridged his own record, in addition to the books of Lehi, and Mosiah through 4 Nephi, just before his death at the hands of the Lamanites. After that, Moroni added the last two chapters to his father's book.

Most of these videos were done in 1993, so was that a good year for Mormons?

These were made as a teaching tool for seminaries, which is place where the young men and women who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and anyone else who is interested, go to learn more about the scriptures, Christ and His gospel. As far as I know, there wasn't such a thing done before. At least my parents don't have any memories of movies in seminary when they were teenagers :)

80's to the early 2000's were the golden years of mormonism. The church fed us a narrative that we believed. Mormonism was presented in a clean package it wouldn't be until the internet came out that the church could no longer push the old narrative of the history and the facts. As you can see the churches media department as all but gone silent. the last big roll out was "meet the mormons" which were not even allowed to call ourselves anymore and if you do well then they know that your not one of them. but yeah 80's and the 90's those were the golden years. These years were also when the church saw its greatest growth becoming one of if not the fastest growing religion in the world. Now its hemorrhaging and is on life support. church better have something in those vaults to restore faith because they have lost by and large the trust of the general population of the church.

@@tannerplummer1996 I think I probably regret saying what I said there. It sounds patronising and arrogant and for that I apologise. I am a practicing Buddhist and have been for 10 years so really I should know better. I did encounter the "Mormon" religion when I was younger but just couldn't believe it. So that's my journey. If your journey is within this church and you are happy and fulfilled there then I wish you well. 🙏
