I have to wonder how pissed the stepmother is that the father doesn't own that sweet house and isn't as rich as she had thought. Honestly, the father is not nearly as good as the OP wants to believe. He married this gold digger behind OP's back, let her and her spoiled brat daughters treat OP like garbage, told her that OP's house belonged to him, chose that pack of greedy shitheads over his own child etc. If I were OP, I wouldn't even bother having any contact with the father. Let him live with his decision. He'll probably try to come crawling back once they clean him out and discard him.

Story 1: OP has every right to want to remove them from their house. The sheer entitlement of these people to be so horrible to her. It’s _not_ going to get better. I 💯 disagree with OP helping her dad's "new" family find another home and even making the down payment. That's CRAZY. Sounds like dad is unable to even support this "new family" on his own. Will OP be paying their monthly rent/lease/mortgage as well? It wouldn't surprise me. And WHY did dad CHANGE HIS WILL to include two girls he ONLY recently JUST met? He has BARELY known them and ALREADY REPEATEDLY put them ahead of his REAL daughter. He doesn't seem to care that his "new wife" doesn't feel the same about his own child. Does he think his "new" wife will be putting OP in HER will?? *NOPE.* Even more infuriating, most of that money dad is leaving to his "new" family sounds like it CAME from OP's mom, anyway. Dad can't even afford to house his new wife and has to depend on OP. So dad is perfectly fine with giving over money to his awful, spoiled, entitled "new" wife, even AFTER she insulted OP as well as OP's mom. Did dad EVER care about her mom? Or was he simply ALWAYS pining after his high school sweetheart throughout his marriage to OP's mom? Is he imagining her two daughters as HIS, had they gotten together after highschool? The fact that he would even suggest moving his new -golddigger- wife in his late wife's ANCESTRAL HOME is disgusting.

I'm a little disappointed in OP for staying in contact with her dad. What's he going to do, walk her down the aisle? She can't expect him to be a dad anymore. That ship has sailed. Friends? Definitely not after he tried to ruin her life by bringing strangers into it to wreck her house and treat her like crap. But now he's "proud" of her? He's seen the writing on the wall with the new wife and step brats and is just trying to stay in touch so that once he gets rid of them - or vice versa - maybe OP forgives him and maybe he can be in future grandkids lives. I get that she still loves her dad but he essentially "cheated" on her trying to create a new family in secret then just springing them on her. He clearly wasn't anything close to a dad to those girls either.

Or he just has the interpersonal emotional IQ of a butter knife, and the intrapersonal courage of a fainting goat. Both of my biological parents are like the dad - the serial cheater didn't marry her affair partner after any of her divorces she just put her relationships and their baggage over the needs of her existing biological children. My biological father married his high school crush, and I know he didn't cheat with her (there's no way the timelines would ever intersect), he just is entrenched in the past (he STILL whinged about the woman he divorced 38 years later, and speaks about what is for all intents and purposes a stranger) and refuses to acknowledge his part in the marital break down (the whole thing was a dumpster fire, and they never, ever should have married, much less reproduced). Some people just suck. I try really hard not to go towards entertaining the thought of cheating in these situations though, without hard evidence; some states allow you to sue the affair partner for renumeration (as a surviving child in this case) on simple suspicion, years after certain conditions are met, and a wrongfully accused defendant then has the near impossible and expensive task of collecting non-exisitant evidence to prevent financial ruin.

Quick Update: Good on OP getting the Lawyer involved, and yes OP appears to be, to some degree, conflict avoidant, she dislikes arguments or causing them and actively chooses not to. You don't have to like causing arguments, but actively avoiding them can be just as harmful. Update 1: OP is doing all the right decisions regarding this situation, dad is not, I mean he didn't even correct his wife that "No it is my daughter's house and you must be respectful". The Dad is blinded by love and doesn't get his new family is like oil and his daughter is like water. Update 2: I feel sorry that OP thinks being kind to people means being a doormat, OP was kind to them, but once those people crossed a line she had to shut them out. And now I know that the dad will be regretting it in a few years, once this step-family drains him dry, physically, mentally, and emotionally. And it will rest on his shoulders for choosing a gold digger over his own child.

I wager that the reason OP’s Father didn’t tell her about the new Girlfriend/Wife, because he made out he had a lot more money then he did. The wife probably thought the house belonged to her new hubby. He didn’t want OP to burst that bubble.

The dad is worse than his wife or step kids in story 1. Couldn't be bothered to tell his kid about his wedding before moving his new family into ops house. Then after all the horrible things they did he defends them. The family was awful but it's not like they had any connection to op. Dad doesn't have that excuse

I remember a story where a woman was very reluctantly letting her mom live in a nice three bedroom trailer on her property where she had a huge house, barn, three trailers. constantly having her guest booted out due to many having been her dealers and fellow other illicit crime pals mom kept insisting were "clean" and just needed a chance like her. Mom was a ex convict with drugs, con work, and basic social scammings. She was spending more and more time away for months. Claiming she had work. Turns out she hooked up with a widower with an adult kid and two youngers who she would sneak over. Daughter warned him but apparently mom claimed she was the ex con. One day the guy came to demand the daughter get her friends out of the house and let her mom have he house back. They were married now and him and his son would actually be helping mom run the photo/ranch business. He was done watching her force her mom to live in the smaller house while she mooched off her business. Man had the contract that was drawn up before the mom was allowed to use the trailer slapped in his face. Mom was evicted same day. Parole officer contacted. Guy was arrested for trespassing and harassment and in court before he realized he was the conned one. He had sold his own home and quit his job thinking he was moving into the ranch and taking over a partnership business.

Honestly op shouldn’t have helped her dad out with the house, that’s a whole can of worms, and when he no longer can provide money or gets into debt because of them, he’s gonna ask op for money and all that because “you already helped in the past”, I wouldn’t be surprised if the dinners are mostly for him to keep up appearances and access to ops sympathy. Op has rose colored glasses with her dad, and still sees the new family as the “you took him away” when the dad left op to be mistreated by them and left op just because hes fucking Steph.

Anybody wondering if the step sisters are actually the dad’s kids and OP’s half siblings? I mean maybe the stepmom only recently became single enough to try to legally get her hooks into the dad (maybe she had a rich ex that she didn’t want knowing that the kids weren’t his)…but it might be another reason why the OP’s dad chose the gold diggers over his (basically orphaned) child… I wonder if the dad was smart enough to get the stepmother to sign a prenup…I mean if she didn’t she definitely should be looked down upon more than OP’s “middle class” boyfriend who easily signed a prenup…

Op helps with the cost of a new home for her father, who chose his new family over her, and his wife and stepkids who did nothing but disrespect her and who now ignore her. Jeez, she obviously has more money than sense. “Dad, I know I’m bottom of your list of priorities but here’s some money and can you please make some time to see me, if you can squeeze me in of course. It’s wonderful that you’ve changed your will to include your stepdaughters who you’ve known for a couple of years and who don’t even care about you. I’ll be hanging around to take any scraps of affection you can spare for me.”

I guess the issue is with the dad. He might want to look good in front of everybody, considering him keep saying everything's gonna settle just give time, plus how the stepmom took the house as his. Stepmom and her two daughters give doubtful vibe about their finance. The bags, the dogs named Gucci and Hermes. One thing that OP has got it on point - the dad is a f***king grown man.

Dad probably had an affair before OP's mom died, and was embarrassed...Or is definitely being manipulated by his new wife. Also I've never been married, but how did they get married without her finding out he didn't own the house??? Another thing why did she think she would have the right to remove all of OP's pictures from the wall- not just the families, but actual pictures of OP even if it was the Dad's house why would she want to erase OP if she's not a bad person?? IOP said they prefer to be non-confrontational, but, personally, the first time any family pictures were moved I would have snapped. I try avoid conflict whenever possible, but my petty ass isn’t letting someone disrespect my family’s sentimental items in my own home even once. OP is a patient and kind person to put up with that much nonsense for that amount of time, all for their dad’s sake. Seems like it kind of bit them in the butt for a while but at least things worked out in the end. Btw, nothing exciting but I like to listen to listen to your videos particularly while doing my nightly skin care. It makes the tedious nature of the routine feel less annoying. Thanks and hope you’re having a great day :)

Sounds like daddy went back to the hometown bragging about how he got over and is now living large in HIS big mansion. Of course the queen of the gold digger tribe instantly fell in love with his house, and daddy dearest thinking with the wrong head, actually believed that she loves him. Well played OP. You may have even saved your dad's life, since I'm sure a large part of her plan was to get his will changed to give her everything, then arrange an accident for your dad and kick you out of the house. You just have to understand that daddy really thinks the witch likes him and isn't just out to drain his bank accounts and leave him. I'm sure he will be crawling back, broke and alone in a couple of years.
