Heh Kevin & Rachel. You are pronouncing emu pretty much how we do in Australia (just with your Okie twang😊) It’s our national bird & on the Australian “coat of arms” along with the kangaroo. We use British English as opposed to USA English. Great Britain & New Zealand do the same. We pronounce the letter ”z” as “zed” instead of “zee”, words such as “favour, colour, rumour, humour, paediatrician, haematology etc are pronounced the same as you but with a little different spelling. If emu is googled for pronounciation it usually will come up with the USA version of “ee moo”, we pronounce it “eem you”. They live right across Australia, the dry, arid inner regions, open grasslands, tropical rainforests, alpine regions, coastal scrublands & can even be seen on beaches & cooling off in the sea. Males when raised in a socialised environment tend to be more friendly (like Nugget). When it comes down to it, people can just pronounce it how they feel comfortable. Hope this helps. Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰

OMG, those EMUS are adorable! Rachel is like a Disney princess with the way the animals trust/love her! We have someone who raises EMUS here on the edge of our small town in Illinois. One summer afternoon 3 adult EMUS escaped their enclosure and made their way to the sports park on game day! As you can imagine it was pandemonium when they ran out on the softball diamond in the middle of a game… the younger kids thought they were dinosaurs! Unfortunately the adults started chasing them, right into the street in front of my truck! Since I am a nature channel nerd and was practice manager of a local veterinary hospital I knew what they were! I pulled my truck across the street to stop traffic, called 911 (traffic/crowd control) and my after hours contact for the County Animal Officer who was familiar with the EMU breeder’s facility. After a 2 hour foot chase through backyards and brambles they made it back safely home to their farm.

Nothing but dirt? Both Australia and Arizona have many areas that are certainly not just dirt! Australia has dense rain forest areas, swamps and thousands of miles of beach. And there are many areas that are in between - just like Arizona. Have you visited any of the ski resorts in Arizona? Lots of diversity. 🥰🥰🥰

@@kathyc7284 No worries! Funny thing, even though I live in a green area, it’s terribly dusty in Oregon too! But then we have our dry areas too. Trees, grass and crops have to have dirt to grow in, so I guess we are stuck in a dirt-y world. “”Big Grin””

You need to get some E6000 from Walmart. That stuff glues everything together, even glass to glass. I learned about it from a crafter THIS SOUTHERN GIRL CAN. She suggests to do a combination of hot glue and E6000 but not to let the glues mix or touch because they will cancel each other out. E6000 takes 24 hrs to cure so maybe get a second "pool" and just peice the leftover fake grass in the second pool, that way the emus can still have the current pool while the second one sets up. The emus definitely look bigger and they so far seem really sweet.
