I have to say how wonderful it is to see Kaulin working, climbing Hills, walking without crutches, big smile on his face. I can only imagine what you all have been through. It looks like everything is finally okay again.

I haven’t been around long enough, what was Kaulins accident? I remember them saying at one point that he had had a vehicle accident that crushed his leg above his knee and he has required numerous reconstructive surgeries. But I wonder if there are more details aboutwhat happened?

I think it was a dirt-bike accident, iirc. Seems like maybe a poorly healed broken leg that ended up causing funky stuff all over. Maybe Matt can correct me if I'm wrong.@@WiscoWoodShop

Kaulin is a cool young man. Happy to see more of him. I like the family business aspect of this show. And when Matt is old and retired, the boys will take over. And then I want to see a spin off show of Matt and Tom Tom in the retirement home tinkering on stuff, it'll be hilarious.

Hi Matt and the crew. I was thinking, in one of your previous videos you made a ring like a super bowl ring out of a nut from the wrecker. Maybe you could make one for the wrecker games in memory of your friend Robert Blake. Maybe award it to the volunteer who worked the hardest as voted by the other volunteers. Or for sportsmanship. Or the most positive attitude. He worked hard to get the first wrecker games to be the fantastic show it was. He was clearly a good guy and will be missed by those who got to know him. It might be nice if he were at the 2nd games, if only in name. That is if it is ok with his family of course.

I HIGHLY recommend installing the Metalcloak sector shaft brace and their rear sway bar link reinforcing mounts on that Gladiator. Watch out for water intrusion on the top connection to your lift Matt, Need to use a water tight fitting or it will cause you problems down the road. I started watching Matt's Off Road Recovery about a year ago when I bought my 2011 Jeeo JKU Sport. It has lunchbox lockers front and rear and it needed a new set of tires when I got it. I bought some General Grabber AT's, and after having 2 of them blow out I decided it was time to get some Milestar Patagonia MT's. At first they wouldn't pull as well in the rocks as the M/T Baja Bosses that everyone in my Jeep club seems to have. I was airing down to about 17lbs (No beadlock rims} but when I aired down to 12 lbs they started pulling almost as well as the Mickey Thompson's. AT half the cost of the Micky T's they are WELL worth having. I'll take that minor bit of difference for less than half the price. All that to say Matt's Off Road is the reason I bought the Patagonia's in the first place. I saw that everything Matt's uses as recovery rigs, except the World's Largest Off Road Wrecker, has them on it. I know that they probably sponsor the channel but I see you guys doing some crazy stuff on them so they must be pretty good. I was a little disappointed at first but after getting the PSI right, I love them. When my 91 YJ needs new tires it'll be getting the Patagonia's. The YJ has a 4" lift and 33" BFG All Terrain KO2's, but will be getting 35" Patagonia's. I may have to add a body lift or swap to a 6" spring lift to make 35's fit but.....no Jeep is every done being built. LOL Thanks guys I love the channel. Keep up the good work.

Actually, as an electrician, you did fine for a temporary installation. Yet what you did is exactly how I got started. When I was growing up, my dad and I couldn’t afford to pay someone to fix our problems, we had to figure it out for ourselves or do without. So that’s what we did. Way before KZbin. You remind me of my dad a lot. You guys know how to do everything!

7:37 As a fellow Utah Corvair guy, I enjoy the current content mix! When I was a teenager, I installed an electric fuel pump to my 65 Corsa and ran a wire up to my fuse box. It turned off when the car was off, but I added a toggle switch under my dash that would allow me to turn off the pump if I was listening to the radio with the engine off.

My first car was a black 63 Corsair Spyder. It could chirp the tires in 3 of 4 gears. I won a trophy at a local drag strip and then POOF the transmission had to be rebuilt. My dad looked at the trophy and paid the bill. That was the end of dragging. It was a really nice car even if others had more trouble. I now own a Jeep Wrangler that feels a lot like the Spyder in the driver's seat.

I'll say it again, you need to make a weld-in kit to 4-link an XJ. You'd sell a heap of them.

A few companies did back when XJ's were in production from Jeep. Not a big market now.

It is with the followers of this channel, however. Lots of XJ owners in the audience and a Matt Made kit would be a proven good thing. It's like saying "Series 3 Land Rovers are not a big market in the US" which on the surface would be a correct statement but if you are selling parts on a Channel or a web forum directed at Land Rover owners it is a big market because you have a concentrated group of owners in that place. @@DB-yj3qc

Hi Matt, greetings from the uk firstly can I say how much I enjoy watching you, Paul, Robby and Rudy and all the guys in the videos, the stuff you do is amazing and un doable in the uk we aren’t allowed to bend the grass here. Sadly I do have one issue it makes the hair stand up on my neck when I see folks working in the shop with no ppe especially foot wear. I spent 40 years as a toolmaker for Ford motors and know that converse are rubbish safety shoes. When I worked safety foot wear and eye wear were mandatory Ford however much you disliked them accepted there duty of care towards its em hployees and provided free ppe! Just saying, also safety footwear can come in a variety of styles and is cheaper than litigation! Dave …..lovin’ the vids.

It’s really cool to see the channel grow and to see all the brand new equipment, but it would really be even more rad to see you do something to benefit the community and planet you live on. Be the change you want to see Matt. I understand capitalizing on KZbin views but at a certain point it’s time to make a positive impact.

Off the subject of this video, but I saw where Heavy D is building his own version of the worlds largest off-road wrecker that will work on the trails. He is also asking you Matt, why he is not invited to the wrecker games. LOL! Love you guys and what you do. keep up the great work and watch your back buddy, I think Heavy D is jealous. LOL!

One wonders how bad Matt would freak out if one of the guys decided to do a V8 conversion on their Corvair. Also surprised he hasn't mentioned one of my favorite bits of automotive trivia: The gas heater on early Corvairs. No waiting for the vehicle to warm up to get hot air for heat & defrost, it used gas from the regular tank to fire a lil' burner.

I'd like to say and with regret but Matt's offroad is turning into one of those High dollar Channels with all the latest and greatest stuff, I always liked low budget builders because they can inspire little people like me that we can build stuff and repair things too. Low budget builders sorta like Vice Grip Garage might be holding the title for average guy entertainment value. I don't condemn success but dont forget about the little man, Bring back some low budget builds fellas😫🙄🤔

When you test a circuit for power, ALWAYS use the back of your fingers. The reason for this is that you tend to grip whatever you touch when it is energized and you won't be able to let go.
