Many comments on the tightening, so wanted to address this issue. Yes, I did over-tighten the filter by 1 or 2 turns (the grunting was not from cranking on it, but from not having the vehicle lifted and working in limited space). Honestly, it came right off for the next change, and no leaking oil, so wasn't much of an issue. Good luck!

Hand tighten the filter bud lol you do not need to crank it on like that!

What is that thing that the filter attachs 2 called? My dad’s van the hose on the right side of it is leaking very slowly.

Good job. Next time undo the fill cap at the engine before draining will give better drain.

Only check the oil when the van is cold or when changing new let it site for a while so u get a right reading when all the oil is at the bottom of the engine if u run the engine the oil will be up around the engine u will not get a right reading

Last time I used a Motorcraft oil filter it almost destroyed my engine. There are much better filters.

I doubt that. unless the louvers were pushed in, a filter can’t destroy your engine.

When I used one last the oil leaked out and the engine went without lubrication. That can destroy an engine. The threads were not correct. I was also scammed by a Ford Stealership and I am not the only one.

Just a heads up you should fill the new filter with fresh oil. This will prevent a dry start.

doesn’t make a difference- vehicle will start off dry anyway.
