What strikes me in these cases is in how many of these cases of women being raped and killed are perpetrated by men who in their turn have kids. How can you not think that could be your daughter to whom something bad could happen? I particularly remember watching a documentary about BTK in which his daughter gave an interview. Her father had killed and tortured a woman living close by their house and she felt terrified (of course at that time no one knew who BTK was) and she remembered telling her dad that she was scared and he told her something to the effect of "Don't you worry, nothing bad will ever happen to you". She also remembered her dad as a kind and loving father. How can you be loving to someone and a monster to somebody else?

I love people being mad at the witness. He was in HIGH SCHOOL when it happened and scared to death. He did report it anonymously which was probably terrifying enough. I agree his reason of finally deciding to tell again was not great. She only had value because it turned out she had a kid? But I feel like the cops could have gotten his DNA from garbage like in other cases if they were really that interested in him back at the start. I think they are playing up how much of a suspect he was retroactively to put all the blame on the witness.
@raerae64222 жыл бұрын
Its BS that the witness/ friend didn't know she had kids. It would have been all over the papers, news and would have been the talk of the town. And if for some reason he never heard anyone speak about it, why he never was curious to ever look up the case over that 10 years? I know i would if my best mate was the killer. I think he wanted to get involved because the daughter is supremely good-looking. Yes, im saying it. If she was ugly or a guy, i doubt he would have lifted a finger. Also, we only have his word that he called the police after the murder. Yes, calls can get lost but my gut says he that contact up so he would't look like so heartless and negligent.
@LauraSti2 жыл бұрын
I think the show probably mischaracterized what happened. It's unlikely that he "learned she had a child." It's far more likely that, when it happened, he was a teenager, scared to death, it was his friend who did it... that's paralyzing, and then when nothing came of his anonymous report he tried to put it behind him entirely. Then, so many years later, he realized not that she had a child but what it MEANT that she had a child. His brain finally felt safe enough for it to click into place that this kid had grown up without a mother and without closure, and at that point he realized it wasn't "over and done with" the way he'd told himself it was for so many years. He realized there was a young lady out there with no mother and no answers, for whom it was still present and active, and that tipped the scales. At least, based on my understanding of trauma, shock in close relationships, and psychology, that's the most LIKELY reason. There could be other factors, and I'm way too far removed from the case to make a clear assessment.

I think the prosecutor (which has been in quite a few episodes) is absolutely awesome!! He calls it as it is. I just learned he is a fox news anchor on Sundays at 7. Im so watching it tonight!! Who else thinks he is awesome?

Trey Gowdy is a traitor to the United States, but so is Fox News with it’s garbage propaganda so they’re a good match. He hasn’t always been a traitorous loser but he became a Trump defender on the Russia congressional investigation and suspiciously resigned afterwards. I think we’ll learn more about him, Devin Nunes and the republicans that went to Russia on the 4th of July in the coming years. He went from a reasonable guy to a insufferable partisan that placed party over country in a serious national security investigation. He’s not quite as insufferable as Rand Paul though so there’s that…

🤮Awesomely FAKE Like the phony TV station referred to… He did nothing except lead the fake investigations into the Benghazi incident costing taxpayers millions of dollars with at least eight worthless “investigations” that proved Hillary Clinton did nothing wrong at all as the military testified that they could not respond in time to have helped the victims anyway.🤮 FYI another reason that Benghazi was possible was since 2010 the Republicans controlling Congress kept reducing security budgets for embassies around the world every year against the Democrat protests. Did you know that? He’s not awesome except as another a-hole.💯👎

I can definitely understand the frustrations of police towards people who don’t come forward immediately with important details of the crime but when you’re threatened that can affect people, and most aren’t afraid to make the revenge a reality. Take the episode “Signed, Sealed, and Delivered”. George, who was a witness to a crime, testified against his two friends, Doug and RD. A year later, a package was sent to George’s home, which was a bomb. It exploded, killing George’s dad and injuring his mother. Doug’s brother and sister constructed the bomb with instructions that were discretely told over the prison phone by Doug. Doug’s siblings got 22 years and Doug and RD got additional life sentences. It just shows that people afraid to carry out their revenge.

Hmm I guess it depends on the state but other police officers would just look for some item that has their suspect's DNA if they can't get a court order. They would usually do it by picking up the suspect's trash because trash is no longer considered private property so it's fine to take.
