DLSS Blurry Cockpits- MSFS 2020/24 - Go into User.CFG and change Secondary Scaling from 1.0 to 2.0 - DLSS, change the setting to Perfomance (very important) - Thank me later...... TAA quality images, using DLSS but massive FPS boost (basically post scales up to around 5k but as its in Performance mode it really does....perform!)

@@holobolo1661 essentially yes, in terms of the graphics quality. The difference is the load on the PC. DLSS downscales and then adds the frames, so in Performance it if course downscales more, but the secondary scaling up scales in the background so the graphics are sharp, but also the ghosting/blurring and popping all disappear. Works well! Only takes 2 secs to update User. Cfg file from 1 to 2.

I use DLSS in VR and there's nothing unusable about my experience. In fact, MSFS 2024 is an unplayable slideshow for me in VR without DLSS. There's a lot of BS floating around KZbin these days and most of it is generated by a KZbinr who hasn’t even tried a 50xx card yet. Taking KZbinrs uninformed opinions as gospel isn't very bright.

the good thing is with the reduction of VRAM usage + the detail in motion improvement, we could be able to use DLSS and then increase the secondary rendering and get perfect glass cockpit with really good FPS

I agree, I’m dead in the water with my 4060 and 8GB of VRAM. I’m hoping DLSS 4 update can help out a bit in 2020 and 2024. If not, I’ll be going for the 5080 most likely. Was glad to see the will have MFG Support from day 0. BUT Will Asobo really program for these correctly? I won’t be holding my breath.

People are moaning about fake frames, but you have the option to turn them off. If you are playing at 25fps because you want everything on Ultra in 4k, you are still suffering from the lag of playing at 25 fps, it's just a switch to make it look smoother at 50+ fps, which is helpful when panning as it helps things look less jittery and easier to focus on. It's a cheap way to eek out a smoother experience where raw power is getting too expensive to run with so much demands placed on it. I've had interpolation on my TVs for years because 24fps sucks IMO when watching movies. Yes the frames are fake and there's the odd glitch, but the smooth playback is worth it. Totally agree with the smeary cockpit. I have DLSS on with my 3070 because the playback is smoother and jaggy edges are gone when using external view as well as internal. To combat the blurriness I turned up AMB Sharpening to 200 and it looks much cleaner.

I get 120-130+ FPS with frame gen. I’m going to stick with my strix 4090 for now. It will be interesting to see what others get with their 5090s.

I am wondering: so i do have a 3 tv monitor surround setup. I run the 5800x3d & 7900xtx. I can msfs20-/-24 at 2k @ 95% ULTRA settings with 30 FPS, which is fine for me, however it hovers the border of stutter / tearing. However, i cannot run much for addons without lowering to 1080 all 3 tvs. I ordered amd 9800x3d and was thinking of a 4090 gpu but not for $2500 & UP price gouging! I wonder if this 5080 for $1k will be a ok shelf. If i get 30% more GPU from the 7900xtx, that will/may allow some GSX and Airports! Im gonna wait for a review in these puppies, but does Anyone else have thoughts for a rig like this?

Depends what resolution your monitor is. In most cases MSFS is bottlenecked by the CPU, not the GPU.

FPS claims with framegen are meaningless in the absence of a viable metric for frame quality. Because ANY framegen mod could simply insert 3 extra frames, each an exact copy of the first one, there'd be no ghosting or moving object artifacts, and the framerate would be x4. So framegen=>FPS is a total bullshit benchmark. There needs to be some other quantifiable statement than "look at my FPS"

But he's not talking about frame generation just DLSS which is a resolution upscaling technique using ai. That's different than frame generation which creates fake frames to provide a smoother experience.

Obviously the reviews are now out for the 5090 since you did this video. General commentary is that the 50xx cards are 100% quicker in rasterisation than 30xx cards, so that's a nice generation jump but it's not worth it if you're on a 40xx card where you are getting 20-30%. Multi frame has seen to make the tearing and mis-render worse, basically if the raster frame is processed badly, you get that x3 😮😢

Is msfs24 fixed enough to buy? - Absolutely not. Do not waste your money. If you want to pay for the privilege of being an alpha tester, then go right ahead. Hundreds and hundreds of bugs with more being added every day. Will take at least a year before it is out of alpha. Don't believe me ? Then spend an hour in the bugs section of the forums. OTOH, FS2020 is good so start there.

I bought a 4080 super at the beginning of last year. Hardly played msfs and ive found myself playing mostly indie titles since. Biggest waste of money in the past couple of years(steam deck thats hardly been out the case a close second). I need to stop chasing new tech. Its a pointless endeavour.

FG not suitable for everyone. FG needs VRR. VRR needs Game Mode on TVs... at least on an LG OLED. Game Mode sux. It strips off all post processing, gradient smoothing etc. I will never use it. Ergo: stuff FG.

The biggest problem for me is simply the stuttering. I'm perfectly fine with a constant 30 fps in a flight simulator, just please stop the stuttering. Also please remove the mouse acceleration in the cockpit view for msfs 2024, that's a decision I just can't wrap my head around.

Looking to upgrade from my 3080 for VR. Looking forward to some actual MSFS VR reviews for the new gen. As usual the gaming community loses its rag over 'fake frames'. I couldn't care less about how the frames are generated as long as the picture quality is there. i am a tad disappointed in the 16g of ram for the 5080 though.

I cant forget the 50s card. Its not an option for me to upgrade from a 30s series to a 40s series card. The only upgrade id do, that fits my performance needs, would be the 4090 and it costs more than the 5090 so, nope. Id rather go full blown and by the 5090. At least Im good for the next 5 years

DLSS1-3 will be "enhanced", yes, but if those enhancements will include what you expect is not yet sure. Can be, but sometimes nVIDIA also just tells marketing stuff. Like the ridiculous statement that the 5070 will be as fast as the 4090...

@@XYQW7 MFG, a feature of DLSS 4 is 50 series only, as acknowledged in the video. The other features such as transformer based upscaling, and improved regular frame gen are backwards compatible, which are also part of DLSS 4 - not DLSS 1-3
