I was raised liberal Jewish and therefore had no relationship with God. I was a drunk mess until my mid 20s when I got sober. I got pregnant with my first child at 29, and still didn't know the Lord. To know that she was being made inside of me by absolutely no input of my own, besides my body supporting her life (also something I didn't understand or have control over), finally woke me up to the fact that yes, this beautiful design of life is created by a very loving creator. It took a few more years for me to find Christ. And now my husband and I are free by his grace, and discipling our children with that love she described, the love that flows through us which comes only from God himself.

It’s so true. Especially from the morality lens of philosophy. If humans are just the result of nihilistic Darwinian evolution, and all life came through random mutations from bacteria (that spontaneously created itself from nothing) then the only true morality is survival and reproduction of the organism. Nothing else matters, the only true right/wrong is what can help you survive and reproduce similar to other animals. In a hypothetical: if Steve kills Tim and steals all his property, and these new resources help him reproduce a greater amount of offspring, then how can one say Steve objectively morally wrong to murder Tim? Steve would be morally righteous since he’s fulfilled the ONLY purpose of an organism, similar to other animals who kill and steal with no moral weight attached. If Survival and reproduction is the only ultimate purpose of existence, then Steve is the fittest so he survives and reproduces and his actions bear no sense of wrong.

@@Stevewilldoit96 Partially Correct. Have you ever heard of the Japanese concept of ikigai? Morality is just the highest good you can achieve under constraints and pressures and nature and god, position, biases and conditioning. With Morality itself being a sorta restraint, or even a shared delusion. like the thing called 'conduct', or having 'shame'. Like Knights must excel at being Knights within their constraints, pressures, responsibilities, dependencies, attachments, debts, and loyalties. While certainly it would be 'bad' for Steve to murder Tim, no one is going to judge the man if he is successful and pulled off the victory, but if he fails society will punish him. That is what you call 'Risk'. However we have evolved such, that anything below a certain line of behavior is crossed out, and we need to be more creative and subtle to do screwy things. The weakness in security is always the human element. All that matters is Power and Stability. How Lies, Trust, Respect, Order, and Aggression/Conflict are dealt with as well. Human Nature is about Paradox. Paradox is Truth. Action, Change and Movement are fundamental qualities, sickness takes as all, no matter our preparedness. Morality is within Consciousness and Rebelling. Remember the Ikigai. There are also memes and psychological and sociological diseases to consider. Tulip Mania? Dancing Mania?

Richard Lewontin exposed what's going on in the evolution camp years ago. He admitted that, before scientists reach their labs, they already have an a priori commitment (faith) in materialism. Even before college. This commitment then has a lab coat put on it, and it's used to INTERPRET their so called science as observing materialistic explanations for the existence of anything and everything. He then goes on to say this a priori commitment (faith) must be absolute for a divine foot cannot be allowed in the door! Anyone can look up the exact quote unless the tech giants of Google Apple and Facebook have nuked it from the Internet. Thanks for the honesty about your faith and the camps faith, Richard! =)

It might make sense to an atheist to say 'intelligence is the best trait to aid survival'. But in fact, giving anything a moral value on atheism (even survival) is smuggling the value in. No atheist argument I know of can justify the existence of values, they have to assume them. As David Hume said, you can't get an 'ought' from an 'is', so they just have to assume that survival has value

@@grantbartley483 A secular way to justify the existence of values is actually very simple. We are conscious, all value stems from consciousness. Consciousness itself is a qualitative phenomenon, so value is an inherent dimension of experience itself. In fact, it's the ONLY source of intrinsic value. There is still plenty to say about how the structure of moral truth is built on top of that but that is the justification of the existence of value, one that you will likely be forced to agree with if you attempt to justify the value of anything else (including god and his commandments). I too experienced something similar to her book store experience. In my teens and twenties I refused to believe in God. I acted in ways that were contrary to His laws and commandments almost out of spite for His commandments. Many times when faced with extreme hard times (mostly on deployments) I would vocally scream at Him - that if He were real He would act to help us - and His refusal to act was proof He did not exist. In my mid to late 30s He made Himself known to me by providing me the proof I always sought. There are too many to list here but I will share two. There was a dead leaning 24” wide oak tree in my backyard that was leaning towards two structures on my neighbor’s property. On a windy day I remember asking God, whom I did not believe in, to give me time to figure out what to do with that tree before it came down while pushing my mower to the front yard. After cutting the front yard, I pushed the mower back to the backyard and past the tree when I noticed it was no longer there. The tree had blown down between both structures in a space 26” wide without touching anything on my neighbor’s property. I felt a warm feeling of pure love that was the same kind of pure love feeling I get when I think of my son. I also instantly had a drive to learn arboriculture even though I am TERRIFIED of heights above 10’. Fast forward one year and I found myself 40-50’ up on a SRT rig in a tree removing it. When I dropped the top the stem turned into a noodle and whipped me around like a rag doll because the tree was completely hollow inside and since I was self taught, I did not see the warning signs until it was too late. By this time I was already a believer so I prayed that night for help in learning arboriculture. The following week an arborist stopped by my house while I was in the driveway working on my truck engine and he asked if I knew anyone who could repair chainsaws. I explained that I am a mechanic and would take a look at it. The following 3 hour conversation we had revealed his profession and he even offered to teach me how to safely climb and rig down trees for no cost to me. God does indeed answer prayers IF we simply ask Him to do so.

It's neat how when you're out in God's creation, and you see how God could act, in your estimation, you pray within yourself to God for a simple thing, and you're in touch and in tune with it, and God may effect change. A certain gust of wind. A certain thoughtful understanding of you, and your good intention, for the right reason. Sometimes it's people, sometimes it's things, But God's Spirit can act. Perhaps He was the gust of wind. Jesus said we know not where it comes from and we know not where it goes. And yet it affects our life and we can't see it or show it to someone else. No other gust of wind occurs that day, quite like that. The tree harmed nothing. You can say that was dumb luck. But you know what your prayer's intention was, and you've been drawn to inquire of the Creator. You know the truth from having your experience. Nobody made that tree out of nothing? Nobody made you out of nothing? And who made the something, and the code that makes you you? And the code that causes the tree? It requires intelligence. It requires the somethings. It requires intention. It requires planning. It requires action. Just like your vehicles engine. It had a designer who copies the creator. Check Dr Stephen Meyer on what's doing what inside each simple cell at a level so microscopically tiny, somebody had to design microscopic machines doing work, propelling themselves, having intention, a job, performing work. The work MUST be accomplished. Why? How does it know? John chapter 1 KJV 1611. You contacted your Creator and your Creator used all things to draw you. Your Creator acted. You discovered the intention. God said, I'm here? He said I know? He said, no biggie? He did say I AM that I AM. Meaning (I will be what I will be) That's awesome, God. We realize. You said you do as you see fit by being that which is the Creator. We are overwhelmed with your simplicity and grace. In Jesus name. Amen. It's sad how creepy trolls whose souls will perish from pharmacia are allowed to try and bully you online. A denier of scientific fact, a denier of testimony of known experience, whose pater hath bula bula is creeping here in this thread. Wanting to keep to an "objective" standard of morality I started adopting a will to power style of behaviors. It made me a viscous and vapid person. I detested myself. There is no objective moral standard. Put three people in a room and let them discuss the ethics of killing animals - you won't find consensus. If there were some magical moral standart outside of humans then there wouldn't be any debate about morals. The morals of taking refugees into our country, the morals of allowing the LGBTQ community to exist, the morals of war - all those will never lead to some objective conclusion we will all agree on. And that is because morality is subjective. A god wouldn't magically make it objectively wrong to kill for example, because the rule would be arbitrary and subjective to that God's desires. The god of the bible allows and endorses killing if it performed on the people he created to be his adversaries, thus not to kill is not an objective rule.

New Atheism heralded by Richard Dawkins, Matt Dillahunty, Aaron Ra and others has failed and Michael Shermer is speaking nonsense clinging to questions rather than seeking answers. I've been watching Christian Apologetics videos since 2020 so these channels are really helpful especially on KZbin and social media. This has nothing to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college graduate. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant

The Case for Christ has sort of become a classic. Lee Stroebel was a reporter who went out to disprove Christianity and ended up a believer after investigating extensively. Others have had the same thing happen. Lew Wallace, the civil war general, travelled to the "Holy Land" to investigate and disprove Christianity. He ended up becoming a believer and writing one of the all time great Christian novels "Ben Hur".

@@atheistskeptic8748 Lew Wallace was neither an author nor an apologist by trade; he was a military man. Having read the book, I would at least agree that he is a stilted writer, and that the text is turgid; I find the basic story compelling. If you want something more along the lines of journalism and argument, I suggest you read adult-atheist-turned-believer Clive Staples Lewis, a scholar who knew the difference between mythology and journalism - or read the Christian writer who later influenced Lewis: Gilbert Keith Chesterton. The main problem I have with "atheists" and "skeptics" generally is that most are intellectually dishonest, being arrogantly closeminded, and they exist primarily to negate, not to affirm. There are few, if any, great works of art or music attributed to the vaunted proponents of skepticism. Where are the cathedrals, the symphonies, the murals, by your kind? I will take Johann Sebastian Bach, a devout Christian and family man - who created the enduring rules of Common Practice music incidentally while primarily crafting his 371 Chorales for the Lutheran Church - over any of the sneering atheists who create nothing except sophistry. So-called "philosophy" - in my opinion, self-indulgent intellectual autoeroticism - seems to be the only thing they are capable of producing. I will emulate Saul-cum-Paul, and speak as a fool: I am not favorably impressed by the ostensible acumen of most of the famous atheists. I garnered numerous academic awards in all of the major physical sciences - physics, chemistry, biology - as well as in mathematics; I have studied Argument and Debate, and Philosophy of Logic; I have a documented I.Q. of 155, and - because of the gratuitous disdain I have received from "atheists" and "skeptics" since my youth - I finally joined Mensa, Intertel, and T.O.P.S. in my thirties (with Mensa being the least exclusive of the three societies).

I do not come from a very religious family. My parents abandoned church for financial reasons (the church wanted money they did not have), so I grew up looking for a church I can trust. Never did. But when I was in primary school and heard the good news for the first time, about Jesus's life and death and resurrection, I immediately knew He was God. Not only that, but that He was calling me to Him. So what saddens me the most is seeing humans struggle to simply believe that God Is. It's so simple. He wants nothing from us but our hearts. What's so difficult though? We can't keep questioning God and rationalizing and using our little intelligence (or lack of) to figure God out. He just is!!! Believe. That's it. It's exhausting sometimes to see humans being stubborn but we're happy that some who were stubborn are finally seeing the light. Praise the Lord!

Sometimes, it isn't a choice not to believe. I grew up in a very religious house. My parents were Jehovah's Witnesses, and they were very strict. My mom and I didn't really get along, I couldn't seem to do anything right by her standards. I tried very hard to believe, mostly because it would have made her proud of me, and it would've made my parents happy. Even growing up with a very religious family, I just didn't believe. The idea of God never made sense to me. At ten years old, I knew I didn't believe what my parents were trying to get us to believe. I would love to be able to believe in God because I think religion is an important part of society, and society was far better when the foundation was built on religion and morality (although there were also some negative aspects). However, I still don't believe. It isn't a choice. I just don't. Maybe someday that will change, but it hasn't changed yet.

I think a huge issue that the church is having in America is the lack of teaching apologetics, and the true meaning of what it means to be a Christian. I see so many of my brothers and sisters go into church on Sunday, get a spiritual high, leave, and return when it’s empty. I really hope we, as a church, can raise this next generation of Christians to be thoughtful, intellectual, and sacrificial to Christ’s calling in our lives.

I don't think that's the problem. I think it's the fact that counter arguments are much more available and doubt isn't such a dirty process any more. The true meaning of being a Christian is whatever one feels like saying it is and denying this for everyone else who does not believes what you feel like "mere Christianity" is. It's funny how that works, isn't it? Every generation say this trope, "we're raisin' up the next generation". Except all there seems to be, is contempt for the "next generations" and a failure to actually give the reins over because everyone is now gay and woke.

Because our so-called single -celled predecessors will have to possess eternality . Or _____ they simply and conveniently merely appeared! But from what source could they have come about? May I share a testimony here? After high school, I went my own path. I was.raised in a Christian household but we never really went to church. My dad was a soldier and his ptsd would trigger bad in large groups so we stopped going. I tried other things after school, and reading up on multiple religions and philosophies. I was trying to find a non-Christian answer to "if God is good, why is there evil?" And to be fair, that is an honest question. But, then, my nephew was born. I found a reason to look back at the Bible and things have been better since. I have better control over my anger that I've had issues with since childhood, I have learned patience and humility. Now, my brother and my girlfriend were both called back to God in the same year, 2019. I have been struggling with depression since but reading the scripture and looking to christ has done me so well in fighting my depression. Along with monthly therapy, mind you. Yes, we live in a fallen world but the promise of eternity is worth the ridicule and pain I feel now. Jesus loves us all and wants us all to come home when we are done here.

A full grown pig may be neurologically more complex, but within a few years the child will be magnitudes more complex than the pig. Is everything about the present? Guaranteed, like the rest of us, the Professor operates and makes decisions based on their future consequences, not present consequences. If you don't do that, you will perish. Like Richard Dawkins once said , even if "I am God believe in me" was written in the sky, he'd be more inclined to believe it's extraterrestrials. Like the Apostle Paul said in Romans 1:28 "And since they did not consider it worthwhile to hold on to the true knowledge of God, God handed them over to a corrupted mind to do things that should never be done." Some people, and I hope that is not you, WILL NOT BELIEVE. They just refuse, and God ultimately says "Your will be done." Since you won't look to your Creator and say "Your will be done." You see Isaac Newton, Galileo, Louis Pasteur, and an endless list of scientists were not only theists, but Christians. The enlightenment could not have happened unless it was through the freedom to think, investigate, hypothesize, experiment, and come to what is ultimate truth if not for the Creator. He wants us to search for Him. Why is there anything rather than nothing at all?

Virtually all so called "atheists" I've met were like 1yo children in comparison to some religious thinkers I learned about. This was one of the critical step in my path towards faith - if people believing in god can be so smart, while people disbelieving are all that "stupid" (and their books are so shallow and empty), there must be something to it, there must be some fundamental truth behind it.

Read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and see if you find Jesus Christ to be the reliable, trustworthy person the Bible claims him to be and decide for yourself. Perhaps it helps, when you know that God describes Himself as 'Love' She realized that there was something there, that was Real, but couldn't be explained well enough from an atheistic point of view. Don't make the mistake though, that God is a softie. The Bible also says: "It's a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God!" referring to Him as the ultimate Judge and when He is livid over the unrighteousness, that hurts love. Yet, He did give part of Himself in Jesus Christ to live like humans, but without unrighteousness, and to die a torturous death for all the unrighteousness of people, who'd come to understand, what He did, was so that they could find their way back to God as a forgiving Father, rather than the livid Judge. And like Jesus Christ was raised from the dead after three days, so we may come to find new life in Him. It's real. It's really real. I didn't believe it first either. But when you start to question for real, as the woman in this video did and as I did, God will find a way to reveal Himself to you. Until you Want to find Him, He sort of keeps out of your sight. It's all about the heart. If you really want truth, you will find Him. He wants to be found, but you do have to search. He's like my grandfather though, when we played hide and seek. He ALWAYS made sure his small grandchild could easily find him. He wanted to be found.

@@beholdtheworld8900 He was a senior writer for Time magazine (which was a bigger deal in those days) that testified before Congress about his communist past and how he had been part of a secret underground spy ring that sought positions of power throughout every level of the government. He went on to publicly name people that were communist spies that were currently working in the government and that he had personally known and worked with. The congressional committee who was overhearing this was stunned at the scope and detail he was able to provide. It caused quite the media firestorm as well. They went on to call the people he accused of being communist in front of the committee and many pleaded the fifth. One person in particular (Alger Hiss) flatly denied the accusations and said he had never even heard of a man by the name of Whitaker Chambers and went on to ridicule the whole testimony and the man making the accusations. The man's testimony was so convincing that the many in the committee thought to give up on the whole episode as they didn't want to give the committee a bad name. One junior Senator didn't trust him and thought he was too dodgy in his appearance. That Senator (Richard Nixon) decided to call Chambers back in during a private session and ask him personal questions about Alger Hiss and his family. The logic was that if Chambers really was good friends with Hiss like he said he was, he should know much about the man. They questioned Chambers on random things about Hiss for hours with no particular direction in mind. After they were done, they called Hiss in and asked the same questions. Hiss confirmed much of what Chambers had said as being accurate (though they didn't tell Hiss what Chambers had said). It was obvious to the committee that Hiss wasn't telling the whole story and so things began to escalate from there. Hiss went on to dare Chambers to make the same accusations outside of Congress where he could be sued for slander. Chambers accepted the challenge and went on the then radio show, "Meet the Press" and repeated his accusations to a round table of mostly hostile journalists. It was said that you could tell whether someone was a liberal or conservative in those days by asking them who they thought was lying, Chambers or Hiss. Hiss did end up taking Chambers to court to sue him for slander. During the discovery trial, Chambers recovered some documents he didn't realize he still had that Hiss's hand writing on them and had been smuggled from the State Department some ten years earlier. I won't go into detail about everything that happened after that, but it's a crazy story. The book Chambers went on to write about the incident, known as "Witness," became a widely read book. It transformed Ronald Reagan's view of the world and he would quote from it often. It greatly influenced Regan's policy toward the Soviet Union and Communism.
