Nice to see this video while, playing as Bavaria, I got the Burgundian Inheritance while Austria was the emperor of the HRE and then I was elected emperor while the imperial incident was going on. I got extra imperial authority and Burgundy with no negative consequence whatsoever.

Another way I figured out to avoid the Dutch revolt, if you can't convert it in time I just release holland, enforce culture and then convert their provinces for them then re anex them, is it efficient? No. But does it work yessir!

Ay Ludi could you explain how to protect trade mechanic works with light ships? When does protecting trade become valueable because I’ve seen that in some of my runs the mission “protect trade“ itself costs more than what you gain from it

Protect trade just increases your trade power linearly (each light ship adds between 2.5 to 4 trade power depending on tech) in the trade node where you're protecting trade. If it's a node where you collect income, it increases your share of that income. If it's a node where you transfer trade, then it transfers more money and trade power in the direction you're pushing it. If it shows you "losing money" in the mission tab, it's just subtracting your fleet maintenance from the profits from protecting trade with that fleet. If your fleet maintenance is high enough, then it just means your fleet isn't covering it's own cost. You're not actually losing money, you're just not making enough for it to be "worth it." You could either mothball expensive or unused ships, or don't protect trade with too many ships that aren't light ships (all other ships add no trade power), or make a flag ship with the +1 trade power per ship in the fleet bonus to increase your trade power bonus and derive more income from trade. It will also show you as "losing" money if you protect trade in a node where you don't have a merchant or any real power (such as in Constantinople if Ottomans embargoes you). In that case, you're practically protecting someone else's trade, so of course you're wasting money on ship maintenance for nothing.

if you are at war with all electors of the HRE, why dismantle it, instead of vassalizing all and taking austrian land aswell? you already fought half the HRE, so you might aswell get that sick peace and then fight the other half with your new vassals helping you. you can easily become emperor then.

Why become emperor though? That's not a smart thing, since as Lotharingia you get a better expansion path, better ideas, and ofc u should dismantle the HRE since u wanna own all that land directly eventually AS Lotharingia. If the HRE is around u get a lot more AE with everyone for no reason.

You'll probably have to make sure that the Burgundian inheritance happens while you have no truce with France, and then get as many nations as you can to support your independence and declare an independence war immediately, before the emperor asks for the Lowlands.
