F1 steering wheels didn't get screens until the 90s, not the 80s.

I'll be honest no matter how advanced they are i have not liked an F1 car aesthetically since the late 2000s. The short rear wing, the duck nose, the schlong nose, the shark fins, the halo, or in general how big the cars got.

to make sure the drivers dont die? and to maximise speed and aerodynamic capabilities?

@@norco3242 I said aesthetically, i get why they are the way they are, i just hate how it looks.

My question as a lay-person: Why are the wheels and tires of F1-Cars not covered?? Why are they free? Contact of tires often results in heavy accidents, so why not cover them? Would a good drop-shape cover not result in less air-resistance? And would that not lower the risk of accidants if cars have contacts? I mean, nascar cars have their wheels inside and covered by the normal chassy frame? So why arent F1 cars? And if there is a rule that obliges F1 cars to have uncovered wheels, why so? For what reason? Same question concerning the missing roof. Is a roof not allowed, because originally, drivers had to run to their cars and jump into them before the start and escape is faster? So, which car shape would have a lower cw, less air drag etc? A car in the shape of a drop (like classical super cars, Porsche 911, etc) seem to be better suited for less air resistance? F1 cars are the fastest, because theiy can endure higher centripetal forces in bends and therefore you can drive them much faster through bends and curves. But what about air resistance???

It's not the fastest, not the most advanced as it really could have been without these stupid rules that restrict it's true evolution, it's just a good organized show, a circus with a good established star system to make money and with richest teams politics to dominate the sport, that's what it really is
