I love how we are taught, that in history, Christopher Columbus Discovered North America. However, He started his first voyage in 1492. Yet, there are maps found of Continents including North America from the 1300's and before. All be they vague and poorly drawn they existed hundreds of years before Christopher Columbus's very first Voyage. They also found star Maps carved in stone that were over 100,000 years old. As well as hieroglyphs that look like modern tech predating 100,000 years. One of the hieroglyph rooms with Modern looking tech was found in a prior secret room, in an Egyptian pyramid that carbon dated over 100,000 years old. They apparently did a "Historical Restoration" after and it looked nothing like it did when it was found. The discovering archeologists leaked the original photos of the room. This prompted more than one nation, many scientists, and countless historians, who were not involved in the discovery in any way, to make up some nonsense about it being a combination of hieroglyphs from more than one Phero. By the way, Pharaohs were seen as living Gods. So, having one Phero carve over anthers hieroglyphs was historically the one thing they were not allowed to do and could/would be executed for. That makes the Excuse historically incongruent on the matter. I wish we didn't have to have so many plot holes in the "History" we are taught. If humans were able to just admit when they are wrong and not actively screw things up for short term gains and their own Ego's, I bet we would have space colonies and flying cars by now.
@jamisojo3 жыл бұрын
You sound like you have a 14-year-old view of history. Your view sounds more like fiction that history to me. The Americans were colonized by Europe because of Columbus "discovering" them. If you don't think it's accurate enough to say that he discovered them, because other people had been there, then how would you describe it?
@darkpoechi3 жыл бұрын
@@jamisojo I have already addressed the point you made before you made it in my comment. Clearly, you are illiterate, lazy, or both. Europe has maps with America as a content on it dated from 100 to 400 years prior to Columbus even setting sail. So, by your logic, I can go to Texas right now, a place already mapped and claim, and I discovered it? Quite the flawed logic. Furthermore, I must say your view of history is also delusional and/or inaccurate. Columbus sailed from England also known as Great Britain. He colonized America on behalf of The British Empire, not Europe. Infact The British Empire and most European Empires relations were best described as competitors, at the time. Hence, why the French empire sided with the America colonizist, when they declared their independence. So, At least some of Europe had maps documenting The North American land mass, quite notably before Columbus was even born. Seems quite hard to say someone discovered something, that was already well documented existed, in that part of the world. I will not say I know for a fact, why it was not colonized sooner. However, I can conjecture, as for the 1000 years pre Columbus setting sail, they were in a state of nearly continuous war. All be it to various degrees. This being said, Columbus was the first to colonize that part of the content. Thus, founded America. However, he was not the only one setting Sail, at the time, for that exact land mass. The Spanish founded more than one colony in the south American area, central American area, and Mexico area. As for France, whom was Britain's most direct competitor, they founded a colony where Canada now stands. Also, those were not the only groups who set sail and attempted to establish a colony, on this land mass, at the time. They were just the most successful. Thus, the ones that bore any fruit that can still be seen. All of this happened around the time Columbus founded a colony where America now stands. Which is to say everyone moved to colonize the land mass, previously uncolonized, around the same time. Which given there were maps of the land mass, that greatly predate Columbus's birth, let alone his voyage. I am just conjecturing here; However, perhaps something changed around that time, such as less wars, or an end to a major conflict, or a confirmation to the existing maps accuracy, or something else entirely. Which lead to everyone moving to colonize a previously uncolonized land, which was objectively documented previously. It is hard to say someone discovered something, that was already vaguely mapped a few 100 years before they were even born. It is also hard to say someone discovered something when it was such an openly known thing, around the time they set sail, that every nation with the power to do so.. Was also setting sail for the same place at the same time. Not like they had the internet. The travel alone took months to years. Information could take a decade or more, to go from 1 end of a land mass to another. However, many people set sail as well, before Columbus even finished getting there. Let alone sending a message back. Let alone the time for it to spread. If you can discover a place everyone knows about, people live at, and others from the same area are going to, and/or are setting up at and establishing them selves. Then I suppose I just discovered America too.

He spends a good 5 minutes talking about what a port is, this is for children. Furthermore this entire video leaves out the millions of natives that were killed directly and indirectly by Columbus, he was a genocidal monster and this video doesn't explain any of it.

@@delb2192 doesn't genocide require intent? Don't think anyone intended on giving the people inhabiting the America's smallpox.

@@delb2192 The video is only 5 minutes long. It definitely doesn't talk about ports for 5 minutes.

@@jamisojo Bruh, it's called sarcasm. As for smallpox and other diseases, no that's not genocide but Columbus did commit it. The native population of the island he governed was at one point in the hundreds of thousands and it dropped into the hundreds. It was partly through disease yes but it was also through brutal treatment of the native people, rape, murder, torture, and a whole host of barbaric methods were used to extract wealth out of the native populace.
