This is ridiculous. To scam teenagers on their prom is just downright greedy and unexcusable. Now that the public knows who she is, don't buy anything from her. Let her see that her behavior has consequences. It serves her right. She can't blame no one but herself!

This happens every prom season in every city in black communities and the girls will complain but next year the kids will “have to get their dresses made by the same folks”. Talent doesn’t mean good business.

It was really cute the mom and daughter❤️ as sad as the situation was and how it was an unacceptable of what happened ... Those 3 ladies still looked absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ and the girls looked like they could be on a cover of magazines. The dresses or lack thier of i should say, didn't make the night, those 3 beautiful teenagers stole the show, despite the situation even with thier dressed down clothes !! Still looked breath taking ❤️ and good job to the mama dukes for making sure that the materialistic things didn't come in the way of a memory and experience that if missed they couldn't get back🙏🙏 good job mama making em go!! Also it was really cute how the mother and daughter both did the same thing at the exact same time to keep their lashes fresh and their makeup fresh from their tears with the hand waves❤️ I do that too❤️❤️❤️ Beautiful all of you❤️❤️

That’s crazy, I I were in position to I would send those girls with their dates and a chaperone on a little getaway or awesome night out! These are events in life that are part of your coming of age. Heartbreaking that someone ruined it. And before anyone says it, not everyone has a second dress or money to just go replace one at the last minute, just as everyone else who has a dress made you pay and you truss the seamstress especially for prom.

As a Mom if you don't have your dress at least 2 weeks before prom night you need to be looking for an alternative. This is on the parents. Ain't no way I'm going to wait until the day of the event and I don't have my dress. The day of and NO DRESS. That's on them.

As a fashion designer...let me give you some tips..... Always make sure your pick up date is at least 2 weeks before the event. Always buy a backup dress. And never pay in full. Pay a 1/3 or half the amount and the final payment the day of the pickup. It's sounds like Buffy got in over her head. Honestly she was trying but sometimes you think it will take a certain amount of time and it takes 3x the amount. I feel bad for them.

When I went to prom back in the 90s, my mom bought me my dress at a formal dress store. And I had no problem. All I had to do was have a seamstress add in some more black velvet material to the side seams in order to give me a little more wiggle room so that the dress could be zipped up easily. And I had a one of a kind dress too.

I understand anxiety, I just wish she had given them a heads up. The dress maker definitely should refund the money for the dresses, pay for the young men tuxedos, any thing else like hair, makeup. She really ruined a lot of people's special day because of poor communication, and poor time management. I hope the girls created great memories anyway on their prom night. I hope this was a learning lesson for the designer. Wow, seeing these women cry also made me cry. 😔❤It's sad that they missed their prom. If the designer would've given them at least two weeks notice, they could've been afforded the opportunity to shop locally and buy a dress. Ladies, although I can't tell you how to feel. I pray that each of you have your Cinderella moments again to relive this missed prom: such as becoming a wife in a gown, a bridesmaid, or for whatever event you so choose to just wear a gown. I pray that all three of you have your day again where the spotlights will be on you to celebrate. I pray that the tears that you and your mother's are crying now, will be replaced with tears of joy. I love you all from a far! You will all have your Cinderella moments again!😘🙏🏽😘

What makes you think that they are low income? How judgemental of someone that sits behind a computer screen and determines these individuals are low income. These people don't seem to be neglected or underfed. Most Americans live beyond their means. Stop being bias of people b/c of the color of their skin. Spend that kind $ for prom is ridiculous . They go Way overboard these days . These are 17-18 yr old kids ! Rent limo’s - Parents throw down CC - Let kids Party all night at expensive hotels. With booze and whatever unsupervised. For sure we weren’t angels back in the day . It was hard enough to come up with any type formal dress $ . And the guys expected to rent Tuxedos . Plus NOT fair too kids Who has a single parent barely making rent! - Can ‘t touch the expense of a prom. Did I leave out tickets pictures ? I respect the High Schools that have a lock down PJ party at the school. No underage drinking driving. And supervised . That said Sad for for girl who ordered dress- And not delivered. Not sure - kinda sounds like maker borrowing from Paul to pay Peter. “ I myself felt like Prom a lot of pressure - Any dude invite What u gonna wear -“ I like him but he’s taking her. Too much emotion for that age - 🤣 He like her but she’s going with him- Definitely Be asking Where’s my money ?
