As a lifelong Giants fan, I'm so happy that Will "the Thrill" ended his career on such a wonderful high note with the Cardinals. St. Louis is an amazing sports town, with some of the most knowledgeable, loyal and good-natured baseball fans in the world. Some baseball players just belong in the National league, and Will Clark was one of those players. Buster Posey and Will Clark are the only two Giants players I've seen go out at the very top of their game. Absolute legends.

Too true. And as a Cardinals fan I reciprocate: always root for the Giants otherwise. SF is the best city in the country.

He's a living legend that will never be forgotten by baseball nonetheless! Sign off, a 1973 guy who grew up in Orioles fan in which for the Nationals.. PS--I always pulled for the Mets against the Cardinals before DC got a team (I grew up 40 miles south of crabtown.) When the Cardinals broke our hearts is National fans in 2012.. in that unprecedented playoff come back in the 9th inning of the deciding game of the playoff series, even I had to objectively look at it as a great moment and don't blame it all on Drew Storen. It took my favorite team 7 years to finally win it all after playoff disappointments, but we needed to learn from the best and we finally became the best. Will Clark retired on arguably the best historic baseball franchise along with the Dodgers and the Yankees

Seriously I met Him once. Guy is who he is. He is humble yet on the edge of cocky and confident. He has manners and is truly a good dude. Will Clark is nothing fake. He is who he is and baseball needs more Will Clarks. I hated him in the 80’s beating up on my Cardinals but I respect the hell out of him

One of my favorite players of all time. He was always such a great sportsman and a class act. What fun it would have been to have him as a career Cardinal.

Will was the epitome of a player you either loved or hated. For the exact same reasons, depending on whether he played for you or against you. We found that out in StL:) Always intense & ALWAYS that sweet, lefty swing. DAMN you, Will! And Thank you...

Exactly! I hated in a Giants uniform but loved him in a Cardinal uniform. I wish they could have found him a role with the team so he could have been there a little longer. I found a whole new appreciation for him in that 1 and only season with STL. That 2000 team was a fun team to watch.

Cardinals were so fortunate to get another legend at the end of his career. He played so hard, loved the game and if The Cardinals had 9 Will Clark’s in the field they’d never lose a game.
