Add blocking to the top of the insides of all the windows a doors for curtains and blinds. It makes life SO much easier when you're trying to mount them. I would also double the width of the deck where the sliding door is, make it the slider and the window and you will have a nice wide place to seat and look at the lake. Love the build.

I live up in pennsylvania and help build pole buildings. My friends and I found out that some times yellow jackets are attracted to the fresh wood, especially some types of pine along with the treated lumber and the saw dust made in the building of the framing. So we hang up a lot of hornet traps around the site and burn Coleman Citronella Candle Lanterns around the site . A word of caution though, just be careful how you set them up so you don't create a fire hazard. Great video, can't wait to see everything when done.

hey guys, the missus and i enjoyed this episode on your build, lovely to see what you are accomplishing. Keep up the good work 👍 ps: please consider putting back your riving knife on the tablesaw ( i thought it was not inserted). And do not use gloves while cutting, if you are tired and make a mistake the blade will not only cut a finger but grab your glove and pull your hand into the blade. Gloves off and use a pushstick!
@reoneill513 жыл бұрын
Great advice. Please think safety. Keep those fingers!! Pushsticks are cheaper than surgery.
@AmbitionStrikes3 жыл бұрын
We totally agree with gloves off, but feel there is a right time and place for a pushstick and this was not one of them. The safest tool is the one that is in control, and while a pushstick gets your hand further away from the blade it also takes away quite a bit of control from the work piece.

When I was in my late teens, I went to a company picnic w my family. I was drinking rootbeer and eating a burger. There were bees in the area but I never expected one to dive into my rootbeer. So I took a swig of my soda and a bee stung the roof of my mouth. I immediately spit out all the food and drink in my mouth. A tad embarrassing so I made sure they knew a bee stung me. Your project is looking good and coming along quickly. Good job 😃

Nice work with the windows. I was taking an old patio door set to the dump laying mostly flat, hit a bump in the road and the glass shattered. It doesn`t take much when they are flat, thats why they ship glass upright on a slight angle. If i was there, i would go on a hunt to find the wasp nests, mark them out, then go back just before dark and empty some cans of wasp killer! Go on the offensive and attack!!! lol But stay safe. Take care

Safety tip! When using the table saw, use a piece of scrap wood cut with a notch in it as a pusher stick to keep your fingers and hand far from the blade. Keep all of them fingers so you can continue this great build! A scrap 2x4 a couple feet long cut in half into a 2x2 with a 1x1 corner notch works well. Keep up the great work 👌🏻🇨🇦

Very nice, I hope that you use spray in insulation. It seals everything so well and makes for a much more closed building envelope so that heating and cooling is much more efficient. You might even think about putting radiant heating tubes in the floor for future use, with all that wood around you, you'll have free heating.
