I loved some of the dance music here. Was only 14 years old.

Blimey, I'd forgotten all about that Kym Sims hit, really took me back. Also KLF was with Tammy Wynette, a pretty unlikely collaboration but it worked really well.

Once again, I'm convinced that the UK Top 100 houses the most insane music that man has created...

Such an exciting era! Interesting how ‘Open Your Eyes’ by Black Box was such a great dance tune, yet, on the radio, I remember there was a chunky remix made by Mirko, who was the keyboard player in the band. I much preferred that version to the original on the 1990 album… loving all these songs, takes me right back to my early 20s!

Memories, I was 11 years old and me and my family had moved house in November 1991 to some part of Midlothian, where I would stay for up to 22 years. The Charlatans - Me In Time: One of the great "lost" singles ever, never been released on a studio album (apart from overseas copies of "Between 10th & 11th"), nor has it been on a greatest hits album apart from the dvd of "Just Lookin: 1990-1997". I have that single on both 7" and 12". I also love the singles by Curve, Manic Street Preachers, Catherine Wheel, Happy Mondays, James and of course, one of the defining songs of the 90's: Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit", when that got shown on MTV a lot changed. It's often been said that that song and video was the moment that "grunge killed hair metal". Oh, and I do believe the Prodigy track first charted at No.48 on a technicality at the end of the year as some stores were selling it the week before it was supposed to be released.

Not the best year for songs overall even though TT debuted. Promises is a good song and should have charted higher
