I would suggest that you leave a small gap between your pallet boards for the deck as it will allow them to breathe and for the rain to pass through so they don't warp and rot so quickly.
@judyweber9855Ай бұрын
Often a nail is used between the boards as a spacer to allow the rain to drain. Not such a big gap as originally in the pallets, but just enough to allow the water to drain away and keep air circulation.(it is kind of like using the spacers when placing tiles, so the spacing is even)

Hi Guys. You might be better investing in a Pick Axe or Larger Mattock to do jobs like root clearing. They would give you mechanical leverage as opposed to the risks of injuring your backs? The Pick Axe would be the best choice but is limited to uses whereas the Mattock could be more useful for other soil tilling etc. Just a thought.

Your saw is great...but if you're planning on doing more with pallets I reccomend a pallet breaker...you'll get nails out intact...which you can reuse and know there are no nails to damage saw blades. For the decking don't forget your gaps for drainage...which will make the wood last longer. Great work on the mimosas . Great content as always. ✌️

I've decided that weeds were created to keep us humble. How self-satisfied can you be about your garden when the weeds are back in a week or so? It doesn't matter what you spray on them, they get used to it and come back stronger than ever. Truly annoying. If reincarnation is possible, I'm coming back as a cactus. I love the expressions on the cats. It's as if to say, "Where does Diogo get all that energy?" Putting an end to this car? You make it sound like you're going to put it out of its misery...or yours. Lol. Paint the bottom of your wooden blocks with some creosote. A good barrier for contact with the ground.
@anniemac3075Ай бұрын
It'd be easier to loosen the roots of the mimosa before pulling them out - use an ordinary garden fork to dig out the roots & disturb the surrounding soil. Try not to cut too many roots or cut off or break mimosa babies away from the roots or you're encouraging further root growth. It's the same as pruning & the mimosa will be even more prolific. It's the roots that need to come out. Good luck. ❤🏴

Still suggesting that a heavy pick with ‘chisel’ end and point end would be super labour saving for many of the jobs you have to do. It would certainly help you get down under the mimosa roots so they don’t grow back so easily. Much less need to pull too.

Iean you could make table tops or counter tops out of those blocks. To fill in the gaps you could epoxy fill the spaces by making a frame and pour the epoxy within the frame. Same with the floor. I have seen people do beautiful things with log slices or wood slices like table tops or counter tops.

If you are going to use some pallet spacers as a step, you may be better off stripping down a couple of pallets the old fashioned way. This will ensure the nails are removed, and will prevent rust stains.
